AT&T 5G Home Internet Adds 139,000 Customers as AT&T Moves to Shutdown Its DSL Internet in Some Areas
Today AT&T announced its 2nd quarter 2024 earnings and with that it reported that its new 5G Home Internet service added 139,000 new customers. This move to 5G Home Internet comes as AT&T has been launching it in areas where it wants to end DSL service but has yet to fully roll out fiber in those areas.
AT&T reportedly plans to shutdown about 50% of its current DSL markets over the next few years. Already some customers have been informed that they need to switch to Fiber or they will lose internet service.
There is a lot of controversy about this innovation and the scales are about convenience and health of people :) !VSC
Yeah. The challenge with that is people said the same thing about cell phones when they came out. I remember even in the early 2000s people claiming everyone who used a phone like this would die of brain cancer.
Yes, I remember that, I didn't have a mobile phone for a long time, but the reason was the high subscription fee, I was content with a landline :) !VSC
