A long time. It will be years until that happens. The client-server configuration has been in place for decades. Plus not all data is going to be on blockchain unless we have a lot of privacy layers.
But for now, we can keep adding data to these open databases (blockchain) to help the AI training availability being open to those outside of Big Tech.

It doesnt matter. There is nothing to replace it. The entire financial world is on the dollar standard. A few hundred billion in trade is minor compared to the $4.5 trillion traded daily in the repo market.

No. We saw this same nonsense with the EU 27 years ago. People looked at the size of the economies added up and said it rivaled the US, so it would be another superpower.
What happened? The EU flatlined while the US economy is now $27 trillion. It is not about trade but that is what people thought. The EURO is nothing more than a regional currency.

Today AT&T announced its 2nd quarter 2024 earnings and with that it reported that its new 5G Home Internet service added 139,000 new customers. This move to 5G Home Internet comes as AT&T has been launching it in areas where it wants to end DSL service but has yet to fully roll out fiber in those areas.
AT&T reportedly plans to shutdown about 50% of its current DSL markets over the next few years. Already some customers have been informed that they need to switch to Fiber or they will lose internet service.
