Thank you to the huge help and support of the Hive community, I reached a huge personal achievement. Today I reached $1000 HBD in savings. This is huge for me, because my pension-like income for my multiple disabilities is approximately only $250 HBD. And nowadays I also work in a four hours per day packaging part time job, but my total income is still only approximately $470 USD per month, which is still below the local minimum wage, which is approximately $550 USD per month. So I currently have HBD savings than my total monthly income twice.
My current plan is to get to $3000 USD in the next 8-9 months to be able to buy and live in an RV to avoid having to pay the rent and the also high regular monthly bills.
But we will see. Maybe I will use my Hive income to maintain my current rent (if I remember correctly, then @dswigle suggested/recommended doing this, but maybe it was someone else). So we will see. Maybe I will keep this rent in the next winter too. At least I have a feeling of safety in this house.
I am not completely sure that I would have the same feeling, if I would live in an RV, and this is another important aspect, which everyone should consider before making a life changing decision.
Either way, recently I started to receive a very good help and support from the Hive community, and I am very grateful and very happy for it.

Within the past half year since i joined Hive i see you are performing on this platform consistently and
its benefits you well. By the end of this year i guess you will be able to make an equal amount as with your IRL things.
Watching your performance might be enough to kick off my consistent posting too, but till now i'm not doing it, although i feel i should.
That would be awesome to make that amount constantly.
It is worth it. For example take a look at @jlufer. Nowadays he is making a living with Hive. He is a great inspiration/motivation for me. I am trying to be very active with posting, with commenting, with curating, with saving. Hopefully one day I wil reach something similar to what he makes with Hive nowadays.
See, you went from complaining about Hive to being an inspiration for others. They see you actively participating and putting in the effort while focusing upon getting ahead. It is not an overnight process but you are much further along as compared to 6 months ago.

I am indeed trying to improve. Because of my multiple disabilities, it is much more challenging for me than for most people, but I am really trying to improve. Both my situation in real life, and my Hive account too.
In addition to my HBD savings, I am also trying to build my Hive Power. Nowadays I am getting closer and closer to 1300 Hive Power. Hopefully I will reach around 5000 Hive Power in the near or in the distant future, so I will become a dolphin, and I will be able to give more valuable upvotes to more efficiently/effectively support others.

Congratulations, this already brings you an extra 10 $ per month, all the little bits help, my mother used to say!
This is true. I often transfer a few cents to savings. For example approximately a half an hour I transferred $0.022 HBD to savings. The few cents will add up over time.
That is how the banks traditionally made so much money. People do not realize how much those pennies add up when there are millions of different accounts being dealt with.
On here, we do not have millions but each little upvote does add up (as long as it is above the dust level).

Congratulations. HBD is returning 1% per month so I would try to build a decent buffer first before making any changes. At least this way, you have some funds to make changes for anything unexpected that happens.

Of course I am trying to build it, but if there will be unexpected bad things, then I will have to take it all out, because nowadays I do not have emergency savings anywhere else, because nowadays I cannot save money in real life because of living under the local minimum wage. Hopefully this will change soon.
1% a month is more than half of what the 10Y pays in a year.

It is not likely that you will get more than 12% curating. You could but I find most do not. Of course, there should be other motivation for curating other than just the APR.
Also, with HIVE you do have the potential that the token price moves up. Hence, it is good to have both. But a baseline of 12% with HBD is not a bad part of a portfolio.

Nowadays my curation APR is less than 12%, so that would give less. There was a time, when my curation APR was around 14%, but I spent a lot of time on curating new content. Thank you for the support.

I have $30 in savings and am trying to make it $100 lol, I shall also get there one day!
I remember when I had similar amounts in savings approximately one year ago. I put most of my HBD earnings into savings since then. Often cents by cents. Sometimes I even sell various Hive Engine tokens for Hive, and then to HBD. If you are consistent, then you will reach $100 HBD in savings soon. Good luck and all the best.
You will get there. It is impossible not to. That is the nature of compounding. Once in motion, it cannot be reversed unless you pull the money out or the APR is reduced.
Keep adding to the savings each time you can and it will grow.
