There’s either something wrong with the world or something wrong with me, and let me tell you there’s nowt awry with this lady! I am an oasis of rationality in a world of madness. It seems to me we are living in some inverted version of the world as it used to be. What was left is right, what was right is wrong, men are women, women need safe spaces and karma has packed up and left the building.
Whatever happened to our agreed reality? When did everyone become entitled to their own truth or their lived experience, if you fancy a bit of newspeak. What happened to our dignity and self-reliance? When did we become so bloody namby-pamby, lily-livered and afraid to call out nonsense? Is it something in the water?
And speaking of lily-livered, it’s my opinion that politicians should have to live on the average industrial wage as well as have some expertise in their portfolio. That’d separate the men from the boys! I mean who, other than a politician, is given a job he knows nothing about and is paid so handsomely for it? We get monkeys so we should pay peanuts.
And finally, my most strongly held belief and one with which I know you'll all agree, is that for all our health and safety, on aircraft, babies, in fact all children under 12 should be stowed away in a soundproof bubble so they can’t annoy me. Before I was rich enough to travel business class, I was frequently persecuted by some screaming little blighter and had to restrain myself from giving them something to cry about.

Two gems that should be inscribed somewhere:
As for flying on aircraft...until I'm rich enough to fly privately, no more air travel for me. Airlines have succeeded in making the experience so unpleasant that if I can't drive, I'll have to take a boat. And I can't see that happening.
🙃You never fail to make me smile!
I can't fault your optimism! Unless you're down in the basement every night inventing a cure for stupidity. That'd make you a fortune:)
I just upvoted my own comment🙄
That' s fine...as long as you upvoted mine as well:)
It's the world that has gone awry contrary to what some (especially politicians) would have you believe.

The problem is, if you're under 30 or so, you think all this shit is normal. It's only us more experienced observers who see anything wrong at all.
Cheers for the visit.
So true. We remember when the world was right side up. When respect that an attribute to be proud of. And when divisiveness shocked us to our core. Have a good rest of your week. Take care.

😂😂😂😂😂😂 I can smell the frustration. It's good to see that I'm not the only one who's frustrated and isn't shy to express it. Yep, you are nowhere near being lily-livered. The world has gone mad, but there are still sane people roaming the mad world. I'm looking forward to the day sanity not only wins, but takes over. It's not wishful thinking, the work is being done.
We'll win!
The pendulum can only swing so far one way before it swings back again....hopefully before I'm geriatric!
Hopefully. 🤞🏽
I could feel your frustrations and relate to your points and it is so funny how you expressed them with humour. Definitely Irish! ☘️😊💗💖😅
Thanks sweetie. I try always to be comic about tragedy. What the deuce else can you do?”
I know, maybe run away? I am actually seriously thinking of moving somewhere temporarily to escape the possibilities of chaos! France and UK sending the military to Ukraine isn't good.
I'm thinking that myself. Not the best idea being trapped on an island if war breaks out. But where to go? There have been so many crazy weather events recently in USA, Mexico, Spain, Italy, Greece, Turkey and now Tasmania. Between war and weather, the world suddenly begins to look very small.
Very right, you are a wise lady. That's what we are exactly trying to figure out which is the best place. Iceland seems the safest, they respect people's rights and are very independent and don't need to vow to anyone. Living costs are more expensive but fairer than here. X
I was in Reykjavík about 15 years ago just for a few days. It was expensive alright but we found people very friendly and English is widely spoken. But didn't the WEF say they expected some island to sink? Iceland? Hopefully not Ireland or UK. Eeeek!
That's what I've heard, they have friendly people. I wonder which island? Oh dear. No where to go don't we? Lol. x
Well said, I agree with all your words. Left playing the social slaughter, right got dumbed... You get told someone with a penis is a woman, that can 5 years child can say they are transgender, that one can declare to be an horse and that's normal... The western world is just a litter bin, our grandparents died for this?
I think we need a reset...a new world order!:)
No joke... are we sure a world ruled by Ai won't be better?
I sometimes wonder whether I've wandered off in some parallel universe, maybe took a wrong turn one day. It would be comforting to think there's a copy of me living peacefully in a normal world somewhere.
I wouldn't be entirely sure that there's not. I think there's more to this life thing than we've yet discovered.
