RE: Weekend-engagement week 18: Your music groove

in Weekend Experiences4 years ago

I've been rocking Van Halen all week and my wife only said yesterday how cool it is to listen to music played by actual instruments. I'll be honest, I have trouble listening to most of the nowadays music, although I listen to a lot of modern country music and heavy rock and heavy metal. I agree with you, it's good to know there's people out there that play these things called instruments rather than rely on a few keys on a keyboard and a sampler to make the music.

A nice share, and I'll investigate Starcrawler a little more for sure.

With Bubbles, you need to send me a nickel when he makes it on there...I'll pay the freight. Lol

Also, welcome pre-back not really back just yet. :)

Hmm nice, I like it and, again, the sound is instruments and a real voice. I might have to take a look at the Canadian scene. There's nothing here in Australia that's ringing my bell to be honest and considering that I rarely don't have music playing I have a voracious appetite that needs feeding. Cheers once again!

I've actually heard Panic Attack before-for the reason you stated. Another friend said that they might be turning a whole new generation to Rock and Roll.

They did an unplugged live show; the crowd seemed older. A somewhat new group attracting the older generations says something as well. People of all ages have been craving these sounds for quite awhile. All it takes is a few good acts to get the ball rolling. Then you get those bands nobody has ever heard of opening shows; the circle grows.

That's how it worked the first time around. I went to a Beach Boys concert in a baseball park in maybe 1970. The opening act was a little band from San Francisco that tore the place up so bad that the Boys let the crowd cool for an entire hour.

Journey.

Me too, it can not be 99% better than that of old skul

I don't like the manufactured rubbish they create simply to hit the charts...I like something with more depth.

I'm curious as to what you're calling modern country @galenkp. Stuff like those good ol' Kentucky boys, Sturgill Simpson and Chris Stapleton? Or the more Nashville/mainstream stuff?

Well, I'll be honest and say that anything my ears like or that moves me in some way. But the really old 60's stuff is less favourite. I'm not one of those people who doesn't like something because it's new and fashionable, nor am I the type to not like something because it's old and unfashionable...So, whatever sounds good is on my playlist. Right now I'm diggin' on Luke Combes, Florida Georgia Line, Old Dominion and Tyler Rich, but I like a lot more...My musical taste is very broad.
