She lives on the same lake, that way I can keep an eye on her when things go south. She has five beautiful kids, and is raising them well! I'm proud of her, she's done well.
Trying to help them prep, without being obvious. With five kids, they're pretty strapped for cash. But they're living in the country, and I'm not yet, so in some ways they are ahead of me.
🤔👍💗🤠👌
A lot of prepping can be done on the cheap as you know. Things can be repurposed, bought second hand and often picked up for nothing I guess.
My favorite way to prep! I bought the kids second hand bicycles, then got one for Momma, so she could keep up.
I need a well (so do they, but they don't understand that yet), so I bought the drill and casings etc; for both homesteads. The deal is he drills both, and I supply the goodies. Then we both have the needed hole in the ground!
There are ways, LOL.

I'd like to see a show that represents how easy it is to prep without spending a lot of money. The prepper shows all depict us as nutjobs with spider holes and chocolate bars jammed into internal door cavities of the house...In reality it's not like that. Giving people some idea around how to increase their level of preparedness without breaking the bank could make a huge difference.
That's what I've been doing. If you are careful you can get twice the prepping for the same money, leaving you better prepared!
I find if I see a deal on prepping supplies, I grab it. If I get a lot, I barter some of it off for other supplies.
And You can never have too many seeds!
👍😁🤠💙🎯
Yep, that's how to do it, barter and look for deals.
Just getting into practice....
But I have some stores that have really good prices, and I take full advantage. For about $45, I have at least 55 quarts of canned chicken in storage. I canned up a bunch of fresh green beans, but I haven't counted those.
The dollar (and a quarter) tree sells frozen vegetables that are good quality. I get them, thaw them, and dehydrate them; then vacuum pack them in canning jars. I can put 6 to 8 pounds of vegetables in one jar, that will last twenty years!
A lot of the low cost prepping comes disguised as work; so a lot of people just miss it, LOL!
👍🤠🎉💙👌💗🤔
if people did a fraction of what you did (we did) they'd be mitigating a whole set of (bad) circumstances that cold occur. Eve if it's just inflation and its effects.
