I want to go back to a simpler time with more nutritious food and less stress from being chronically online.
There is brand of protein bread I have been buying lately, but they are often sold out. So I thought fuck it, let me make it myself and I will do that today
I have been looking at the Viking time and what they ate and how they prepared their food and such.
Less ingredients, yet more whole food ingredients :D
I am starting the process of baking bread for myself to this week for breakfast. Which only have 4-5 ingredients (depending on if I am going to mix some flour with other flour). Not a fast process whatsoever :D
Also want to try and make some Sour Candy from 1800 :D
1800 century Sour Candy
Get Limes, Oranges & Lemons.
Remove the insides of the fruits and save the peel.
Soak the Peel in water for 2 days up to 5 days for removal of the bitterness.
Afterwards boil/simmer a mixture of 50% water & 50% sugar for 1 hour.
Take the fruits out, put them on a bed of sugar and finish with sprinkles of sugar on top
What I have already done
Breaking free from my adhd medicine is something I am testing. Last week I didn't that any meds and I slept so much better than when I am on the meds, with the meds (because its speed) I have a hard time falling asleep and staying asleep.
Also, focusing on a protein rich diet in the early mornings and carbs later is something I have found works amazingly for me.
I am just starting out. :D
Here is a cookbook from 1876.
IF you search archive.org for the author, he has lots of food howto's in his books.
I don't know how much anxiety is affecting you, but this is a homemade herbal anti-depressant.
Thanks!
I have been looking at this https://www.townsends.us/products/mrs-eales-s-confectionary-receipts-bk-708 (Not my ref link)
I don't have anxiety, but its never bad to do something for it ;)
Well, you are in for a treat, Kurt brings more survival game in his books than any other author I've seen.
You will have to search for the food parts, there are many, but here is a link to what Kurt would have called, 'The Whole Enchilada'.
I payed retail for mine on cd, but now that he has passed, you can get almost all of it for free.
That survivalplus.com was his page, but I have no idea who has been keeping it up.
You were talking about making your own bread, I think just before the cookbook in that first link is a simple bread recipe that he liked.
Here is a survival food link: https://www.survivalplus.com/foods/toc.htm.
Damn! He have a lot of books written! Or Snippets on archive.org :D
Thanks!
I will have to dig deep in him at some point, but I gotta be at work in 30 mins, so I have to get through my morning routine :P
I would download them in pdf and have them for offline, when you get time.
Have a great day.
If you have legit adhd, there is no diet or lifestyle than can replace the misfiring and/or depleted norepinephrine and dopamine. That being said, the sleep thing can be hard. I’m on melatonin and low level antidepressant to help me sleep through the night. It’s not always the best quality of sleep but it’s way better than only getting a few hours of sleep like I did for the first 30 years of my life 😁
Wb Eve, long time no see :D
I do legit have Adhd and no, you are ret a diet cant "fix" it, but it can do a lot to help me "catch" some of the misfirings/impulsive behavior.
I found the less sugar I consume the better :D
But my sleep is shit. This is my sleep from yesterday to today via Oura.
On meds.
This is my sleep last week same day and up the same time only difference is that I am not on meds last week x)
