The recent student job I've done before I got a job in my profession. The project was about creating UI/UX design for a client that has a website. At the time I was at the 3rd year on University of Informatic Design.
Primary goal was to create "Frames" - Design of the Forms.
The client started his start-up company named Floornap - A platform for a variety of low budget accommodation within 15 euros per person. The goal of the company is to make possible for both - hosts and travelers to make eco-friendly accommodation possible.

As the logo has the darkish blue and orange color combination, I've managed to pick Sky Blue for the background color as it makes nice contrast - which means nice visuals and something that user will like to use.

Every UI/UX Design process consist of concentrated elaboration of preparation and ideas. It's not about turning on some of the Adobe Creative Cloud software and making something from the scratch. It's about making a personalized design that will get remembered and subconsciously connected with the brand - in this example - Floornap, and its visual design.
- This was already the idea that was constructed well, elements were balanced well and the layout was trasnparent. The thing that was bothering me was I tried to exempt the orange color from the logo. That made the design more serious and at the time I wanted that look. By rethinking, I finally decided to make it more colorful as the theme of the company is socializing, traveling and discovering new things.
My actual job in this case was to make a nice UI (stands for User Interface, everything you as a user can see at the layout of the webiste) of the forms of "Register | Login | Become a Host | Booking"
All of that 4 elements are visually divided on the main page of the website, but with a nice visual identity and consistency as a user (for example) registering and trying to "Become a Host" should be "looking the same" and making fluid synergy, without our user get distracted or lost.

The main intention was to make a design for the website, but I as a designer like to provide to my clients a mobile version in case they want to make mobile application some day - or just for the mobile version website.

Actually, UI & UX come together. User Interface, as the word say, presents in lay words, something users see as they open for example application or website - the interface, in the other words, anything user can interact with. Well now, when we observed the UI, in design it's not everything about how it looks. We, as designers, must make user the comfortable place to be - design should be trustworthy, credible & useful.
So when you "compress" all the things of UI and UX which is a bigger story itself, you get a great design.
To explain in more detail, I like to use comparisons. Imagine having a good brand with nice logo and everything and you see that brand for the first time and tell yourself "huh, what a nice company it must be". On the first sight logo might be great, but overall visual identity and for example website, don't give a sense of credibility - which makes you not pull out your credit card for that sick looking t-shirt. That's a bad User experience, which makes you not coming back to that site.
Designers sometimes have to put themselves in psychologist's skin and think few steps forward about the synergy of beauty / attractiveness & the usage / feelings of the design.
For me, it's like beautiful woman with bad habits and bad manners - sorry if I'm too unpleasant. 😐

Hey @tonac, I would rather say that the UI is inside the UX. You have to consider the UI as a part of the UX and less important. We understand each other, UI is important. But think of it; a website with a good UI but bad UX is so much unpleasant than a website with a bad UI and a good UX.
Please, reconsider your analogy with women, everyone has bad habits and bad manners. 😅 Judging someone about these kinds of things is a bit... Odd. Especially if you want to become a UX designer, it means that you have to be open-minded and want to work with a lot of different kind of people! 🤩 I would rather say that UI without UX is like a juicer that would split the juice everywhere, except in your glass. Here, Don Norman made an excellent conference with a lot of examples! All of these objects are beautiful, but the user experience is so bad that you will never use these items in fact.
Your designs are really cool! Thank you for sharing! Maybe use a lighter colour for your red buttons? To have better contrast, it will be more readable.

I totally agree with your comment, that comparison wasn't maybe 100% on point, but I'm also happy you've recognized what I wanted to say.
You're right here, that's the fact we have to accept, and in matter a fact it's fully positive thing. UX analysis always come up with many different opinions, which makes every project unique.

@lauweded In a generic situation this may be true, but I would always say it depends. Good and Bad are always a line, not a point. And if the UI/visual design is pleasant and make you happy, you tend to ignore some ux flaws and report that everything is great. Another reason why we should not always believe users, when they say a website or product is great, you should also observe how they use it.

I don't really agree with you. I agree that when the UI/visual design is really excellent, our eyes are happy and you don't really pay attention to the UX... BUT only in the short term, because users who struggle with your app's flow will surely don't use your app again. Products (app or website) that can help gain time or money because of their excellent UX, in the end, users will use it, even if the UI/visual design is not perfect. The UI is an accessory, it let the UX be way better! But if you don't have a good UX at the beginning, the UI is kind of useless... Well beautiful to see, but not beautiful to use.
It is really funny because your sentence contradicts itself 🌸. First of all, if you design a product, you should always trust the users, because you design products for them and with them. As you said, we have to observe how they use it, so if they say that they struggle with the flow, we have to trust them, right?
