RE: Application IDEA: Re:Quoted (input requested)

in OCD4 years ago

I'm a dumb shit so can't help with any dev-ideas...But I'm smart enough to know this is a good idea. I hope someone picks up on it.

Sort:

I think it would be quite a useful bridge between content as well as creators and consumers. Might also be a bit of fun :)

I agree with both. I'be been reading a lot of work in the last few days from people I have never before seen and have been amazed at some of the thoughts put into words...Certainly some are quote-worthy. I think it would be a good concept.

Do you think that if you did find some quotable content, you would requote (if easy enough) ?

Perhaps a reference to the Re:Quote could be added to the post for the author to see or, the quote generated will create a notification to say that they have been Re:Quoted.

For sure...It's no different to spamming a meme on FB, just more intelligent.

It could be a quick-fire way for the message to get spread, the message in the quote, is cool that it's a regular joe (or jill) who has written it and that it draws attention to them, and probably hive. A quote factory of regular everyday fuckers like us. What better?

This is what I think is quite unique about hive in general, normal people creating some great content. I think more people should get involved in some way and perhaps this is one of the easiest gateways for involvement.

Yes, get people talking about this quote or that. Offering perspective...It's easier to offer one's perspective on a quote from a knucklehead like galenkp than it is to try and mix it with a quote from Aristotle for instance. There are some remarkable thinkers here, and whist I don't like the I'm the smartest person in the room types (they often are not) I think there is a vast wealth of wisdom, thought, understanding and more importantly, questions, hidden around the chain. It would be nice to see them exposed in an easy and digestible manner. Maybe this is it?

The discussion and the potential for "knock-on" posts is high I think and for those who struggle for content, it can be an easy source and one that is relatable back to the community for more discussion. With a good use of tags and metadata, an interface could collect content around it like a word cloud (@inertia?) and connect it up to communities also.

"How are you two related with each other? given that 'kp' letters on your username."

This could be my input for this idea of yours @tarazkp, include funny questions :D

We are brothers.
