INTRODUCTORY POST : THE UNCONVENTIONAL PHOENEAKS

in OCDlast month

Hi, Hive family, I'm Phoeneaks. Not the known spelling of Phoenix, right? It's a good time to state that there is nothing conventional about me. Let me drop a little backstory to the name. When I was younger, say 15, I used to think of myself as a strong and resilient girl, and so before Phoeneaks, I used to call myself an eagle. Still, upon discovering that many other people called themselves eagles, I switched to Phoeneaks because it means reborn from ashes, which fits me perfectly. I also used a different spelling because I wouldn't say I like regular things.

****I STUDIED PHARMACY****
I Studied Pharmacy at the University of Ibadan, and to be sincere, I almost died. The way many people see Pharmacy as a second-class course or something not so serious is not the way it is. Pharmacy can kill you. Okay, I am joking, but it killed my social life. I think killing is an understatement. Murder is the word instead, but thank God that Phoeneaks will always rise from the ashes.

****ASPIRE TO PERSPIRE****
One good thing studying Pharmacy did for me was make me realize my passion for health promotion, so you can be sure that you will see me at almost any medical-related outreach you attend. I envisage a world where health information and education are at the fingertips of every single person. I promise you that as long as I am here, I will feed you with good health information until you get tired of me.

****The HIVE COMMUNITY****
I have always wanted to be a part of a community where I can share quality information on relevant subject matters and also meet with people of like minds. Thanks to @jaydr for introducing me to the Hive community and making the onboarding process so seamless. I’m grateful to @medhive for giving me the platform to share quality medical information.I’ve also joined communities like @foodiesbeehive and @hive learners community since my onboarding, and I am loving every bit of it.

****OCD or not?****
I am very organized with my things. I knew this fact in my head, but my family members never acknowledged me for it, and I never really dwelled on it, maybe because we lived in a small house and everybody's things were always lumped up together. The first time I was called out for this was when I was in my second year at the university, and that was when it dawned on me that it was more severe than merely being organized. I said all of that to say that though I might not be a neat freak, I am an organized freak and can't breathe when my things are not in order.

****I LOVE TO SLEEP****
Whenever people ask me about my hobby or hobbies, it gets funny because the last thing people want to hear among the many possible things that could be a hobby is SLEEP. I love sleep. I can sleep while standing without resting on anything. I see sleep as a means to an end. First, I need relaxation, and second, I need exploration because I dream a lot. In fact, I have a book dedicated to documenting my dreams.
