RE: Designing houses to meet future demands

in Architecture+Design3 years ago

With the advent of rapid urbanization, prices of land in cities have skyrocketed during the past decades. For this reason, we see a lot of multi-level buildings and skyscrapers sprouting out of nowhere. On some occasions, reclamation projects (sea coastlines occupied by land-filling) are common in locations with enough funds. Unless the neighborhood is a rich community, poorer districts have no choice but to relocate to much cheaper rural areas.

Is it quite expensive to construct and maintain a standalone house in your city right now @gentleshaid?

Okay, I see. Unless the location is a deteriorating metropolis, most highly developed cities harbor expensive prices of real estate and land values that continue to escalate. So it would not be a surprise, that sooner or later, Nigeria will also experience this upward trend. At the end of the day, rural communities will always offer cheaper alternatives for such developments. Thank you for the update! 😊
