btw have you ever checked skatehive?
We have probably the coolest frontend https://www.skatehive.app/, we are still small but constantly onboarding, slowly but surely. Real users, real content. All our code is open source, and we made a generic frontend that any community can have their own frontend for free (I mean 100% free, even hosting) in seconds. We built it all with love, no funding.hey @azircon ! What do you think about retro funding? First you show what you can do, then after proven results you make a retro funding proposal to get paid. If the community sees value, you get paid.
Retro what?
Retro looting? :)
Loot first and then collect on contract? No thank you! :)
PS. I am talking about Leo. Not you. I am clueless about you and your project.

What I meant was to pay for something that already has brought value for the community. Most proposals today are promises, the community pays for something that might be a complete waste.
If you can demonstrate value.
How do you do that? It takes time and a benchmark.
Did you bring 10 users who is positively contrubuting and each hold 1000 hive staked?
I made up the numbers, but that is measurable value.
we do onboard users with that in mind, educating users. But you know it's hard to control what each person does on chain, I can only talk for myself.
the project is not mine, I'm just a contributor, and I just wanted to show you the other side, where we can make something cool without funding.
we are not asking for funding, at least not yet ;)
but you have to agree that the first step is to have real users, then we can try to educate them to stake more.
we are gamifying the profiles on our frontend and you get a lot of points for staking hive. this is a way to incentivize this positive contribution. but there is never a guarantee...
I think we could educate them before they get here.
would love to hear your ideas! got to remember most never heard about blockchain before
First of all, getting people to adopt blockchain is an uphill struggle 😁 I've been trying to do it for years and my sum total of success is one (semi)active user, although many have opened accounts. Now I've changed my approach, I've moved saying "join hive:earn crypto" and agreeing to almost anything to get people to join and thinking that's the first hurdle, once they're here we can build from that.
Now I say it's about building the future and it's not for everyone. There are opportunities to earn crypto, and it is a very low cost to join, if anything, and no one is required to put fiat into it. But really it is about investing in the future, creating new wealth, and being able to fund things which weren't possible before. And it takes time and patience.
I also focus on the governance and taking responsibility for your self and your future.
I've been reading all your posts and agree 100%
