For sure this treatment brings some hope in the area. It's sad that many times doctors need to use these drugs that can cause addiction. Thanks for bringing that I will take a look more deeply in this compound that I wasn't aware of. The only thought that I bring in concern is maybe people losing the ability to feel pain can be burned or hurt easily? Since pain is still necessary for us to feel real danger of something that harms our body.

Good point, but we are speaking about severe pain, that is just relieved after prescription by a physician. Don´t think that people get completely painless, unless they overdose. What for sure happens a lot with opioids.
Opioids are indeed a problem and a big challenge in medicine research! I had neuropathic pain in my leg, before it was probably one of the worst pains since it doesn't matter if you stretch it, change position, etc. It is a pain caused by a damaged neuron, so it will be there until it is somehow healed. I remember that even opioids didn't help me much, they gave me tramadol. The only thing that helped me was some anti-depressants.
