Although I haven’t been great at sharing other authors' content, I did try it last week. Unfortunately, 99% of my shares were cancelled, and I hope I didn’t upset any authors. Their content was good, but I must not have participated enough in a new sub. Perhaps I’ll give it another go, being more thoughtful about how I approach it.
I've also started engaging more with the subs whenever I have time, and I noticed fewer cancellations during those interactions.
A few reasons I enjoy sharing my posts on Reddit are:
I learned so much about topics related to my interests. It’s fascinating that people can read the content through Hive platforms and then return to Reddit to provide feedback. Eventually, they might even register on Hive.
I gain valuable insights from people's feedback. Yes, some comments can be a bit off-putting, but they teach me how to navigate conversations with different types of people online.
If ever I create any new sharable posts, I’ll share them to help increase Hive views. I've already shared 90% of my posts from the past year.
I recommend that authors share at least one post weekly to keep the ecosystem thriving. This isn’t just about winning but about supporting both the community and ourselves.
Yes, it's nice to get some rewards for sharing, but as you say, sometimes there are good comment and interaction on reddit.
This is something i miss here. Often there is no or less reaction to a posting.
The sound can be rough on reddit in some subs and if one does not like your comment there are also downvotes. But you also get lots of upvotes if they like, what you respond.
