RE: Can you write ONLY half a story on purpose? (Dreem-WOTW S2-R3)

Hmm, I actually know two people who might be interested and who I don't think saw this post.

@oblivioncubed and @alonicus ... sorry for the random tag guys, just wondering if either of you would be up for this? I don't mind taking on part 1 if one of yous want to write part 2?

Sort:

Don't feel bad about the ping! I'd be down to try a part 2, sure! >:D heck, Alonicus and I could both do a part 2 and let you choose which version to put in LOL

Brilliant! Okay cool, I'll get part 1 started today, and I'll aim to have it released by tomorrow morning! I'll tag you in that post, I'd say me and you go for this one, and if alonicus wants to get involved too we can try to find him a writing partner for it.

What kind of style or genre should we go for? Also, the word count should be between 400-750 words per part, so as a whole the story should be 1,500 words, but we can go a little over the limit if needs be, we'd want to stay in and around the limit though, because the judges will have a lot of work to get through.

The first prompt/opening lines that must be used to start part 1 is:

"The place where the world stopped was not so strange, but the vertigo was overwhelming. The girl could not decide whether or not it would be wise to jump."

There's the prompt line, and then part 2 will get a line like that to get started ^

Okay, @samsmith1971 I have a partner, so we'll see how it goes, I'm looking forward to seeing what we come up with.

What kind of style or genre should we go for?

I will let you lead the way my friend, I can work with pretty much anything!

Okay perfect! I'll see how I get on with it, I'm sure it'll be a bit of fun.

Fabulous @killerwot and @oblivioncubed ... remember that both part 1 and part 2 need to be submitted to dreemport on Tuesday 4th April between 4 am UTC and midnight UTC so make sure you are both registered on the website (2 minute job) and that you leave time to do your random 5 post curation before it allows you to share your own post :-) !LUV !PIMP

You must be killin' it out here!
@samsmith1971 just slapped you with 1.000 PIMP, @killerwot.
You earned 1.000 PIMP for the strong hand.
They're getting a workout and slapped 1/1 possible people today.

Hmm... the register page throws a 'page expired' error.

Hi, does this happen the moment you try to visit the page or at a point after? Page Expired usually means a session has expired, and can occur with a slow page load and or a timed URL in the register case. You can DM me in discord if it persists after maybe just reloading the page:
Discord- Penderis#3076
or tag me in the DreemPort discord - https://discord.gg/brZXXnGDKc

ok I shall ask @penderis if he can help!

Okay brilliant! I'm signed up on it already so all good there, and oblivion cubed will be able to get signed up on a sec if he isn't already.

I'm enjoying the story so far and think it's interesting, I should have completed and uploaded tomorrow.

!HUG !PIZZA

Dear @samsmith1971, you just got hugged.
I sent 1.0 HUG on behalf of @killerwot.
(1/2)

Remember do not share in Dreemport before Tuesday 4th April... you can publish on Hive in Scholar and Scribe community anytime before then but the URL must only be shared in Dreemport on dreem-wotw submission day :-) And make sure you link the two parts in your titles so they are easy to connect. Good idea to both put the links to each others part into the body of your post via an edit if necessary so the story is easy to follow...

I'd be up for that ! There's a lot more rules than the normal "here's a writing prompt, 1..2..3...go !" but I'm sure if I re-read the main post once I've finished work and had dinner it'll all make sense to me.

Also.... !PIZZA just because 😁

Hey, @alonicus I'm going to tackle part 1 and have been paired up with oblivioncubed who will be doing part 2, as we're supposed to work in pairs for this competition/collaboration.

The first prompt/opening lines that must be used to start part 1 is:

"The place where the world stopped was not so strange, but the vertigo was overwhelming. The girl could not decide whether or not it would be wise to jump."

That quoted line is the first line of the story and is to be used for the prompt for part 1, and then part 2 will see the story continue, and the writer of which will be given their own prompt line to start their part off with.

Each person is to write about 400 - 750 words, making the entire story about 1,500 words. Obviously, they can exceed the word count, but I think everyone is going to try to stay in the range, to keep it manageable for the judges.

I'd love to read your submission to it though, so I'll tag someone who I've read the work of before and hopefully, they could team up with you.

@litguru (sorry for the random tag) would you be interested in pairing up with Alonicus on this? I noticed that you don't seem to be participating; I don't know if that's by choice or whether you just missed this post. I've read your stories though, and they're pretty sick. I think the two of you would make a good team.

No worries @killerwot - maker sure you tag me in what you guys write, I expect it'll be awesome and look forward to reading it 😁

Cool, I'll tag you in my post when I publish it! Hopefully litguru gets back and fancies joining it. Or, if he doesn't, maybe tag samsmith1971 and ask her if she knows of anyone who hasn't got a partner, so you can get involved in this too! We have until Friday to write and publish part 1 and then part 2's prompt will be published.

oh man, I'm so sorry I didn't see this conversation! I definitely would have tried to help get you a writing partner! Next time? And feel free to come join in our future monthly writing challenges - we'd love to have you !LUV !PIZZA
