It's worth more than Bitcoin. Like, all of Bitcoin, yes that much. How much more? Just over 30 times more. What does that mean to you? Two things. Facebook Stock is extremely expensive. One share being close to 130$ at the moment. But it also means the upside for Steem Power is not capped like every other altcoin before it. I hesitate to call Steem an altcoin. Steem is really a first, the social media aspect of it is what makes it so valuable to me as an investor. Most coins can hope and pray to one day reach Bitcoin 9 Billion Dollar marketcap. Steem has things like Twitter, Instagram, Facebook to compete with. Facebook alone has a marketcap of 300 Billion with a B billion. You can build your own version of social media with the Steem blockchain's opensource code without even forking it. Steem can grow not with tentacles but with teleporters. SteemSouthAmerica. SteemEurope. SteemAustraila . These websites can all exist use the same blockchain and see every post from every website. There is a project called Screem that is developing a twitter like experience using the Steem Blockchain. To invest in this opensource anyone can build anything at any time style platform Steem Power was a great solution. It insulates you from inflation while costing some liquidity and cryptographically securing your "Stock" in your possession not in a 3rd party account like E-trade.
Steem is also the only coin not skewed 100% toward those with the highest mining budget or newest ASIC mining technology. Both Bitcoin and Steem are owned in large percentage by the top 1% of users. So before you complain about how much Steem the whales have, think about how much of Vitaliks pre-magikd share in Ethereum he has actually Sold on the open market already and Ethereum has a higher marketcap than Steem right now.
Don't take my advice just Blog on Steemit.
Value per user is also a good indicator, FB has billions of active users, Steem has 97k accounts registered, don't know the number of Bitcoin users but the number of blockchain wallets is approaching 9 million.
There are tooooo many social media platforms and the majority of the revenue goes to the platform rather than the contributers / users. I'm surprised that Steem adoption rate isn't exponential. Maybe it will change over thanksgiving when people have more downtime.
