I agree with you and in my opinion KE is a good indicator but only if:
- combined with other indicators
Apis Hive combines it with other indicators/choices and in my opinion this is a good way to use it.
The limitation of KE is that it does not consider beneficiary rewards or delegations in HP and for this reason a large account that earns a lot and sells a lot might have a lower KE than an account that has never sold a single HIVE
Just because a user is powering down everything does not make them a "parasite".
I agree because Hive has a power down function, and although I have never done power down I have nothing against those who do power down.
To me the person who does power down is not a bad person or parasite.
But those who gain a lot of HIVE and do completely power down have no interest in supporting HIVE and do not believe in the potential of Hive.
This in my opinion applies more to those who have Hive as their main source of income.
If thanks to Hive I live I have to be somewhat grateful and supportive of those who enable me to improve my real life?
In my opinion yes
That is why I will never support those who completely power down and do it all the time and do not interact on Hive.
So:
power down = parasite? No
completely power down = no interest in Hive? 99% yes (in particular when HIVE value is low)
completely power down = no interest in support others? 100% yes
I think it is technically complex but an indicator that takes into account:
- of KE (considering other factors as well)
- CSI
- interaction (excluding bot comments)
- % delegation of HP
It would be a maybe not perfect indicator but much better than the current reputation indicator that is now worthless
About CSI, I like this indicator and I use it to see if I support enough authors because the more my HP increases, the more I will try to increase the number of authors I support
you also gotta factor in that some people may have to, for good or bad reasons, what's important then is to check if the rewards they receive are worth the value they bring to the chain.
I'm sure many would love more passive curation rewards and to build stake but not everyone is in a position to do so.
For instance I've sold a lot of hive to help fund and build tools and projects on hive and I don't think that's going to stop any time soon. Do I want to do that? Not really. Is it always with the idea that what I invest in will outperform hive or that I feel I have too much hive, also no, but some times you just have to.
