RE: Steemit the school of trial and error!!

I don't know about what others are saying or stating about featuring the authors.
The idea of featuring authors is amazing, it is helping out the minnows and authors who are giving their hearts out for posts but earning not even single dollar. The thing is when you see the quality of content which are not good enough and seems like just an article which is copy paste is trending with high payouts and the work that you have done for hours is ignored , it is depressing for ones who are new to platform.
Its not easy to take up 20-25 articles coming to you in 2 days span and looking for plagiarism on each story, but still they are working on it, sometimes some of the writers may slip on. Abuse team is there to inform that and flag that, Great! Do that. But what i saw is the idea is being attacked on personal level and I feel very sad about it.
These guys here is actually making change in people lives by doing that. They are actually helping out new authors a reputation here.
My first cashout amount was used to help a child who was 6 years old and have no money to study, but now he can study for more than 5 years along with good fund aside in my country. Thats how important it is.
No matter what, ill be very thankful to you @crazymumzysa and @gavvet.
Keep up the good work.
Wish you Good luck.

Sort:

You have hit the nail right on the head. I dont think anyone else has helped new good writers as much as this family has.

I would say yes some people took advantage of their kindness its because of them now everyone will suffer.

Exactly they have been doing so much for new authors.

Sometimes it does happen some of articles do slip ons, but that was not intented right? The intention is to reward the author by using the reputation they have. The good content should be noticed on platform.
And I dont think they should stop here. Its a great initiative and it should grow as the platform grows.

yes fingers crossed I am sure we will get the good news soon.

Yea.
Solving the issue of plagiarism is good point to discuss on but because of such people we should not get down.

One thing you must know : We do not give up this easily, there are too many counting on us.

As said by crazymumzysa.
So, ya lets hope for best.

seems to me that two things happen when people make money, especially money from providing exposure to other peoples work. The person doing so gets encouragement or jealousy and envy raises it's ugly head. The latter happened here. There were some who objected because they were making money by curating other content.

To me, if a person builds a following and takes the time to curate content to bring it to the attention of others then it adds value. My personal policy is that I upvote the person providing the links and I upvote the authors, provided I agree the author has written a quality post. There are some days, if I don't find the links all that much quality that I don't upvote the curator.

Some of those who were upset over them making the money were people who had been featured and didn't get any gain from it. I personally suspect maybe their work wasn't all that good to start with and it's easier to blame someone else for their lack of success.

On point.

I dont see anything bad about this getting featured thing.
