I'm never buying new clothes again

in #life7 years ago

...and not for the reasons you think of.

I have a whole drawer of clothes that I never wore. Why?
Because they are what I like to call my "aspirational" wardrobe. Basically this means that I buy them being a little tight with the intention of wearing the hell out of them when I'll be thin and handsome.
Well, I am handsome but the thin part is a work in progress. And by progress I mean stalling for a few years :D

So I realized that while the whole concept is cool, the process is flawed. Cause while I do not get to wear those clothes, I do get to buy them which is in itself a great satisfaction. I often say that I don't like so much to wear what I buy or to buy, but to "have bought". And so this idea of buying clothes for a later time when I'm more in shape is the very definition of "having bought". I know my favorite t-shirt is in the drawer, intact, never worn. I don't have to show it to you, it's there! And that's enough for me.

I'm changing my strategy now. I'm not gonna buy any more new clothes until I hit milestones in weight. Right now, I'll buy new clothes in about 5kg down. That's the new way to measure time...in kg!
Yeah, so in 5kg I'll go get me a very nice gym outfit from UnderArmor and then...in 10kg..who knows. That might be never anyway.

Realistically speaking, I haven't been at -5kg from here in years and years so yes: I might never buy new clothes again.

Thanks to living in a western society..I anyway have too many!

What's your "doing this in 5kg" goal? Share in the comments!!

Set goals , you’re more likely to succeed that way

that's a goal no?

Don't set goals, don't go to the gym.
Go do something rewarding and useful like chopping wood if you want to move. 75% of your results come from eating anyway. Eat quality self prepared/cooked food. I mean really self prepared not opening a package. :) Maybe try intermediate fasting or warrior diet or something.

hahaha. I do fast and I'll be sure to write about it cause the shit advice on dieting I see everyfuckingwhere grinds my gears.
I am shit at chopping wood to be honest. don't least this beard fool you, my hands are soft and bathed in hydrating cream and I smell of something else than the nice combo of forrest, perspiration and manhoodness.
But I do agree with: cooking + low calories vs more gym :D
thanks for stopping by!!!

Cook all your food yourself diet worked for everyone. :)

Hi @journeyoflife,

It seems you got a $0.4787 upvote from @echosupport at the last minute before the payout. (16.01h)

Haha! I had done that once. I bought a tight tee shirt and put a challenge that I would get into it in 1 month and I actually did. :D
Go for it but don't do it by eating less rather by working out.

hehe. I try but I think that t-shirt must wait...

Good luck in your new challenge! My goal would be to gain 4-5 kg. :))

GAIN?! what? :P

Yes, I would love to gain 4-5 kg but in this moment this is not possible, I am at a sugar-free challenge, so maybe next month or so.

I measure my gols in km and procentage of body fat :) so strictly speaking how much I weigh is kind of irrelevant :P
My goal this year is to run a marathon.

well i'm at 30%+ soo..

I write what I eat from time to time and also advocate quitting sugar and intermittent fasting, so... you already have a few tips from where to start

It is a good strategy, I'm glad I do not have problems with weight, I have the same weight that I had during college. I think I have a very good metabolism
