Hey @roused, I just wanted to say that I really feel relieved, that you're not leaving completely. Your posts are really a great enrichment for this community and I somehow regret that I wasn't able to always give your work the attention it deserves.
On the other hand, as others already mentioned, this whole platform is still an early experiment and desperately needs some improvements. For example the long awaited possibilty to follow certain interests. I'm pretty sure your interviews would be much more successfull , if there'd be the possibility to follow #jazz #music or #interview tags.
But steemit has it's advantages. Besides meeting interesting people from all over the world, the posts usually are ranking very high in google. Provided you are using the right keywords (in your headings) tags and links, you could really push your homepage (or any other linked site). This is really an advantage of steemit, that you can make use of.
Finally thanks a lot for pointing me to the great guitar player Mike Seal, his skills are amazing and after I've listened to all the clips, I'm even listening to your interview now.
I'm wishing you much success with your upcoming interview on "All about jazz" and I will follow your music recommendations as often as I will find the time to do so.
Thanks buddy, these comments are exactly what makes Steemit so great. The discourse and interaction are so different from other social media. A cyber-community used to seem like a stretch to me, but I must admit even after only this short time on Steemit, there are indeed cyber friendships and communities.
I think your tag idea is great. In terms of music, my conviction is growing that the FB & Twitter model of people following and gravitating around their favorite artists is perhaps the most promising way forward for Steemit. By simply doing on Steemit what they already do on other social media, it creates a powerful & perpetual self sustaining loop. Fans upvote their favorite artist, he gets the lions share of the reward, but the curating fans are also rewarded. And it continues in the commenting -- it is a sweet deal for artists & fans.
You are right about Stemmit appearing on google, I got an email from an artist this morning who must have seen my post on a google alert. I'll post that today in my next post.
Yes I agree, Mike is a tremendous talent. BTW, his wife is also a great musician. Here she is with her sister on German TV last year. Mike's wife is the sister with the light hair.
You'll have to watch this on YouTube, embedding isn't activated.
Thanks too for mentioning my AAJ interview.

If anyone is interested in reading it, here is the link.
If you want to hear it with music included you can find it on my site
Thanks so much for the support and encouragement!
(PS the Penciltember drawings are awesome!)
You are more than welcome! I guess the main difference to other social media sites is, that we all own a share of steemit and therefore really care about the development aka bringing it to the next level.
I really would like to see this platform evolving into a tool for creative people like musicians, writers and visual artists. Maybe there will be different platforms built on the same blockchain one day, that serve the special needs of every of these groups. (For example musicians would need an embedded musicplayer and the possibility to sell there works directly to their fans.) Everything that helps bypassing middlemen, who just fill their pockets, would be a great improvement in my opinion.
I'm glad, that the google ranking algorithm already worked for your post about Barbara Dennerlein. Maybe the next mail you will get is from the amazing Lovell Sisters ;-)
Next up I will listen to the McLaughlin interview. Maybe you want to fix the link to AAJ site in your comment above, it currently just leads to google...
Great comment, deserving of a boomerang! (hope it works) Yes the embedded music player would be great. Wouldn't it be great if we could use our Steem cash to buy music!!!! That would be huge. Yes Larkin Poe are great. Thank you for catching the link, AAJ changed the title a little bit and that changed the link.
Cool news, the interview has already passed 3000 and it's only noon on the East coast in America.
Absolutely, that could be a game changer. Have you heard about Steemsongs, a project by professional musician @thisisbenbrick - I guess he already sold some of his music for steem.
And congrats for the impressive number of readers at AAJ - Keep it up!
No I didn't know that, but very glad to hear it.
Yes it's going well on AAJ, approaching 4,500.
