"That which ye have seen me do even that shall ye do."#LightTheWorld day 22

in #lighttheworld7 years ago

It's a lot easier to do something when we have seen it demonstrated by someone else.

One of the benefits of studying the scriptures is that we can study the lives of great men and women.

Jesus Christ is undoubtedly one that we can read the most about and whose example is most comprehensively documented.

Simple reading and studying his life is one half of the blessing, the rest and probably most lasting part of the blessing is when we start applying the principles demonstrated therein in our own lives.

As we aspire to live better and be better we actually become better people over time.

The rough areas of our character are smoothed of and we become more well rounded.

Jesus taught:

"That which ye have seen me do even that shall ye do."

—3 Nephi 27:21

No one else has provided a better pattern for living than Jesus Christ. As we seek to emulate Him, we can improve our own lives and the lives of people around us.

WAYS YOU CAN FOLLOW THE EXAMPLE OF JESUS CHRIST

  • What is your favorite teaching of Jesus Christ?
Write it in a note or card and pass it along to someone.

  • What characteristic of Jesus Christ do you admire most?
Focus on emulating it this week.

  • Who is the most Christlike person you know?
Send the person a note of appreciation expressing your gratitude for his or her example.

Jesus the best example to follow. People have many idols but they are humans. Jesus is God! He is full of wisdom!

Most definitely Jesus Christ is the best example to follow, he came down and died for our sins
And he is the KING OF ALL THE EARTH

Jesus is all
Our master and friend

Greetings, sir @gavvet

Jesus Christ, even for non-believers, is a model of behavior. That is why he carries with honor the title of "teacher" He teaches us humility and the appropriate way to discern between good and evil. If humanity opened its mind to this learning in the workshop of the teacher Jesus, the world would be simply wonderful for all.

Hello @gavvet, very useful post on the ocassion of christmas. there is also guideline and advises of jesus christ. and much more here about humanity. these lines are worth.

we can improve our own lives and the lives of people around us.

Thanks for providing us a worth message through your article.
"Merry Christmas" in advance.

Thank you for an interesting article. "Who despises his neighbor, he sins; and whoever is merciful to the poor is blessed "(Proverbs 14:21). This is one of my favorite quotes from the Bible about the attitude towards people. After reading the covenants of Jesus, I understand that there is nothing more accessible and understandable for a person that would start to live properly listening the covenants of Christ.

@gavvet

Did you know the verse the light the world website is citing from the book of Mormon, was actually taken from the book of John in the Bible?

"Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father.
John 14:12 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/jhn.14.12.ESV

Good observation!
This part in the book of Mormon is when Christ came (after he was resurrected) to the people of Nephi, he taught them many sermons which are similar to the sermons found in the bible.

If we emulate Jesus Christ we can seek success way after follow him. Yup... I can seriously follow the example of Jesus. Why not?
Obviously, Jesus had a love for others. If He didn’t, He wouldn’t be compassionate nor a servant. Jesus claimed that there is no greater love than to die for one of your friends—and He did just that. If anyone doubts His love, all they have to do is look upon the cross and see the agony that He bore for their sakes. He experienced that horrible death so that all can be saved. That, very clearly, is true love at its finest.@gavvet, Absolutely #lighttheworld really encourage me for change my life. I'm non-christian when I told before, but I respect Jesus Christ same My Buddha. I have read and study more Christ books from my village and school library those days. So I have best knowledge. Scripture studying giving more benefits and we can go success way those persons goes.

Finally I tell Christians and non-Christians alike usually can agree that Jesus is the best role model to have. From His faith, perseverance, generosity, and even His intelligence, people see the best qualities that mankind can possess. Stay blessed.
And Merry Xmas to you @gavvet.

This after the friend saw me cursing almost everything that I encounter with.. but to a very surprise upliftment, the quote make me to feel ease of myself, happiness were found n this become part and parcel of my life now, literally I forgive everyone n be happy always now, thanks to Lord Jesus.. :-)

Everybody is a beloved one, everybody have to right to be loved.
Just by giving a little love, you feel be loved!

Excellent post, my friend and I like the expression "Love your neighbor as yourself." To love means to coexist, co-feel and co-suffer to another as to oneself. If there is love for one's neighbor, then I feel heartache when I learn that someone has grief. And all the time, every day and every hour. It is easier to mobilize once with a terrible grief, grief .., but always, daily to be sensitive to the life and condition of the neighbor, the one who is next to - is incredibly difficult.
Because love is a gift of God. It is not in our power. We can only have the intention to love, but the Lord helps in this. Thank you @gavvet

This is a very wonderful post @gavvet. There is no greater life to live than walking after in the footsteps of Christ.

Acts 11 vs 26

''and when he found him, he brought him to Antioch. So for a whole year Barnabas and Saul met with the church and taught great numbers of people. The disciples were called Christians first at Antioch.''

I believe emulating Jesus Christ means truly being a Christian, not by title, but by practice. I start by asking, what does it mean to be Christian?

Being Christian, i.e. a follower of Christ, means to strive to live as Jesus Christ would live. By that I don’t mean forsaking all possessions to walk around preaching the gospel.

It means to always act as He would act. Forgive everyone who offends you, because He would do so.

It means seeing others as children of God, no matter what race they are or what religion they believe in.

It means asking how you can brighten someone else’s day, just as He brought light into the lives of others.

It means asking for forgiveness when we’ve had an unkind thought or said or done something that hurt someone else or ourselves.

It means remembering that you can be happy through tough times because of Christ, that He knows what it’s like to feel remorseful because He felt that during His Atonement for us. He knows what it’s like to feel depressed and have anxiety, to be mad and wanting to feel unforgiving of others and ourselves. He knows, and because He knows He can take it away, replacing those feelings with peace.

It means asking for His help to feel that peace in our lives, every moment of the day. When I’m tired because I was up the whole night taking care of my sick kids, I can ask Him for peace that they’ll be OK and strength to get through another day at work.

Practicing Christianity daily is the key to emulating Christ. It’s a simple idea, but requires faith and devotion to center our lives around it. And when we do so, we'll naturally be like Christ.

Thank you so much for this opportunity.
There is a lot we can learn from the scriptures. The life of Christ is the example to follow. Our perfect example. Some of them which i learnt from are:-
Giving to the Needy
[1] “Beware of practicing your righteousness before other people in order to be seen by them, for then you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven. [2] “Thus, when you give to the needy, sound no trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may be praised by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. [3] But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, [4] so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

The Lord's Prayer
[5] “And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. [6] But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you. Even in this season of Love and #lighttheworld, lets be careful the mindset and aim behind it.

I have made up my mind to recieve the reward from heaven and not from men. My motive for given is founded on the love of Christ and instruction of reaching out to the lost. I wont do anything that would not give God all the glory. His glory must not be shared with anyone.
Thank you @gavvet for this. Its a reminder that our lives should be scripture based and not how men want it to be.

A post like this is really important, a good job as usual from you @gavvet. In our day-to-day experiences of life, we have opportunities to learn to be like Jesus, to choose to be patient, to be considerate, to help others, to pray. On the job and in our homes, Jesus has something to say about what we do.

What about the trials and difficulties of life? We wish they’d go away, but Jesus never promised that. Instead, he promised us problems: "In this world you will have trouble" (John 16:33). "No servant is greater than his master. If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also" (John 15:20).

God uses our difficulties as opportunities for us to learn. Even Jesus had to experience troubles. "Although he was a son, he learned obedience from what he suffered" (Hebrews 5:8). If even Jesus had to learn through suffering, we can expect it to be part of our training program, too.

We will experience problems in life whether or not we follow Jesus. Our choice is not whether to have problems, but whether we learn from those problems. Do we react to them the way Jesus would, or do we become bitter and seek revenge? We learn more about love when we love people who are hard to love; we learn more about forgiveness when people sin against us. Our character is shaped more like Jesus not so much in good times, but in difficult times.

We do not always understand why God allows people to suffer. We may not see any good in it, or any lesson to learn. But God assures us that "in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose" (Romans 8:28). We may not know how—we just have to trust him.

Whatever the trial, we can at least be assured of this: "Our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us". We can be confident, even in our trials, that God has something wonderful planned for us. Our trials are only temporary, but the glory will last forever!

Thank you for sharing and encouraging us to do these noble things. The scripture has so many inspirations to learn from.
The repeated internal testimony of the Bible is that it is the written communication from God to mankind. This is the clear testimony of its writers. In 2Timothy 3:16-17 Paul states, All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work. In 1Thessalonians 2:13 he states similarly, “For this reason we also constantly thank God that when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men, but for what it really is, the word of God, which also performs its work in you who believe.” In 2Peter 1:20-21, Peter states, But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one’s own interpretation, for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God. The dramatic story of God testing Abraham’s faith is ripe with lessons we can apply to our lives. Those lessons are easy to miss because the premise of the story is so compelling. We see Abraham sacrificing his only son even though it took so long for isaac to arrive. All i can see here is sacrifice. Even in this season, i am encouraged to sacrifice for even people i dont know. Thank you for showing us that Sacrifice is a practice of the season, the kingdom practice.

Have a great day. Thanks. I really like this movement #lighttheworld and i am a fully pledged suppporter and a participant.

God really really bless you. What else can i ask for from Steemit if not an encouragement to keep on being of relevance to my immediate society even in this season and having an inspiration from the scriptures.
Jesus Christ is just the ideal figure i emulate and we are to emulate.

The Lord Jesus expects and requires us to give. Jesus said to His disciples, "when you give" not "if you give" (Matthew 6:2)! Hence, Christian giving is not optional, but rather essential. We often hear folks say: "in the Old Testament they had to give, but not in the New - now we only give if we want to." This is clearly not Jesus' teaching. He expected all His followers to be givers. Christians will give. Are you giving?

The Lord Jesus wants us to give for the right reasons. Jesus warned His disciples not to give for the sake of being admired by men. "Beware of practicing your righteousness before men to be noticed by them," He said (Matthew 6:1). When we give, we must be careful to examine our motives. We ought to give for the glory of God and the good of His people. We must desire His approval of our giving, rather than the praise and admiration of people. Are you giving for God's praise or man's?

The Lord Jesus wants us to practice benevolent or charitable giving. Jesus said "When you give to the poor . . . ." (Matthew 6:2-3). Jesus is specifically teaching about "alms" in this passage: aid, charity, or benevolent offerings for the needy. Do you give amply enough to the Church that she can be generous in benevolent giving?

The Lord Jesus reminds us that our giving is ultimately to the all-seeing heavenly Father. Jesus said "When you give . . . ; your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you" (Matthew 6:3-4). When we give, we are not simply adding to the Church budget, we are giving up a thank offering to the Father Himself. Thus, we must all give "as unto the Lord." Our ultimate goal in giving is to please Him. Are you conscious of the fact that your giving is to the Lord and seen by the Lord? This is a question we should ask ourselves.
Really exceptional post. May the Lord keep enriching you abundantly.

If 50% of we believers could do 50% of what has been said in this post, we would surely have won more people for Christ. A wonderful work @gavvet. This is the foundation of an impacting Christian life. The moment we can emulate Christ, the more this need becomes fulfilled.

Over the centuries, Christians have found several ways to let God do his work in our lives. God does not force us to emulate Christ— it cannot be programmed into us or forced out of us. We have to choose it. God works in us as we submit to him.
Philippines 2 vs 13
"It is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.''

How do we become more like Jesus Christ? In several ways:

In worship, we are reminded of God’s greatness, his mercy and his desire to do good in our lives. We are reminded that we can trust him and that we depend on him, just as Jesus did.

In prayer, we acknowledge that we depend on God, and we ask him for the help we need—needs such as food, intervention, and spiritual change. "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God".

In Bible study, we read and think about the works and words of God. Jesus studied Scripture and used its words to help him resist temptations. He said that humans do "not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God". Spiritual life needs spiritual nourishment.

In the church, we interact with other people in the same Christ-focused training program. We learn from our interactions about how to express love, and we grow in appreciation for people who have talents and abilities different from our own. Jesus created the church not just to preach the gospel, but to help us grow, because that is also part of his work and purpose.

In service, in helping others, we act the way Jesus would. We learn by experience that service gives us more life satisfaction than selfishness does. Being involved in the work of God is the most satisfying feeling of all, for it will be of eternal value. When we die, we can’t take physical things with us, but we can take relationships.

Wow. Very interesting post i must say, who wouldnt love it.
I have a lot i have learnt from the scriptures and how much i am to emulate them.
Ofcourse Jesus Christ is my perfect example. I can never forget the Parables of the Talent and how it teaches me about work and success and hardworking in doing the bid of my Father in heaven.
First, this parable teaches me that success is a product of our work.

In the book of Genesis we see that God placed Adam in the garden to work it and take care of it. We were made to work. As Christians we have a mission that our Lord expects us to accomplish in the here and now.

Far too many evangelical Christians today see their salvation as simply a “bus ticket to heaven.” They believe it doesn’t matter what they do while they “wait for the bus.” The Parable of the Talents teaches us what we are supposed to do while we await the return of our King.

We are to work, using our talents to glorify God, serve the common good, and further God’s kingdom. Biblical success is working diligently in the here and now using all the talents God has given us to produce the return expected by the Master.
We are to invest in lives, because i believe God has invested so much in me and will need a return on that investment. So i wont take his work for granted.
God bless #lighttheworld, God bless all your work @gavvet.

Luke 7 vs 39

''When the Pharisee who had invited him saw this, he said to himself, “If this man were a prophet, he would know who is touching him and what kind of woman she is—that she is a sinner.''

Wow, I can't be more glad that God through His mercies, has redeemed my soul. But I know it does not stop here. I have to learn to live for Him.

In learning to live as Jesus, I would spend much of my time with thieves, prostitutes, and all other individuals shunned by the rest of humanity, preaching the word of redemption and Salvation to them, making them know that God can save them too, just as He did me.
I would also spend time with the sick, hear from the heart and listen to the others physical, emotional and spiritual pains.
In fact I would search them out as friends, not just only preaching to them, but also listening to them and understanding them. I would have no fear what so ever in any situation as my faith would be so unwavering that every minute would be a gift of God.

I would set an example of unwavering kindness in actions more than words. I would search to find similarities between me and others. I would give advise when asked for and -only- when asked for, and tell others not to speak of his/her advice and would quietly create environments where people could come together in respect. I would develop a "special" relationship with each person I come in contact with. I would live my philosophy more than speak of it. When i would speak, it would be in metaphors and one would have have fun with language, just like Jesus Christ.

These are my aims from now on, as I pray God grants me grace to live them out. Amen.

You know, I am totally convinced that the Bible is the key to emulating Christ. It directs us on how to live for and like Christ.

But it's important that first you understand that there's a difference between the new and old testament. The word testament means covenant. And a covenant is an agreement (bewteen two or more parts). The first testament was between God and the Jews, God's chosen people. The new testament is the promise in Jesus. Jesus was sent by God to earth, in the spirit, and became God in human form. (like an avatar of God 😊)
And one of the reasons Jesus came to this word, was to fulfill the law which God gave to Moses. So finally, you didn't need to follow all these rules and religious acts.
And also, now everybody could be saved from death, not only the jews, but even the "sinners"

If you want to live as Jesus did, you would not follow the bible literally. And you would most certainly not avoid wearing clothes made of mixed fibers, as this book "The Year of Living Biblically" says you would do to live biblically. That was a rule the jews had to follow, in the old testament (the old covenant, agreement).

If you read the new testament, and read about how Jesus behaved, you will soon find out how to live as he did. He came to talk about God's love towards all mankind. He walked around healing people from their sicknesses. He also showed how you could get internal healing, by believing in him. You could get rid of anxiety, fear, hurtful thoughts etc. The main thing though, was to show love. To treat people as you want them to treat you.

I'd say, if you want to live as Jesus did, show unconditional love to the people around you. Forgive those who treat you like shit, who don't deserve it. Bless people who speak bad to you. Also, follow the ten commandments. As a Christian, those are still valid. Though, like the first commandment says; "You shall have no other gods before me", doesn't only mean like, don't have buddha as a God instead of me. It also means that God should be the main source in your life. That means, if watching television is what you love the most in life, and it's more important than God, then television has become your God.
What I'm saying is that not everything in the bible means literally what it says always. Jesus spoke in images, he gave parables. He gave examples. Understanding this truth is important

Wow. Really exeptional post. I am encouraged to live a life inspired by Christ and other biblical examples.
The Apostle Paul wrote, "Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ" (1 Corinthians 11:1). Ultimately, that must be our goal when we study Bible characters. Where they were successful in following God, we are to emulate them. Where they failed, we are to avoid making the same mistakes. "Now these things occurred as examples to keep us from setting our hearts on evil things as they did...These things happened to them as examples and were written down as warnings for us...
I really loved Abraham.
So mamy lessons to be learnt from him.
What God requires, He provides.

As a fitness trainer, I see people reluctant to make sacrifices necessary to reach their goals: junk food, too much exercise, not enough exercise, free time, TV, alcohol, comfort zones, caffeine, accountability, and so on.

Until they give up what they want for something they want more, they’ll always come up short.

Is there anything in your life that is a little too precious? Could you be making an idol out of something that God merely intended to be a gift in your life? Only you really know.

But understand, God is always at work, molding and shaping us for His purposes. This sometimes comes by sacrifice…by testing and by trusting.
I encourage us to all ho out to be of importance and value to our world. That little dollars we have that we are hoarding, its God who made it available so you could use it to fufill the purpose for the season. He saved that we might save others.
Thank you @gavvet for this outreach and cause. You are an inspiration to many. My life has taken a new turn just these past months on steemit. God multiply all your efforts.

very good your post.thanks for sharing

Romans 12 vs 1-2
'' Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.''

Awesome. Am so grateful to God for this post today @gavvet, it has made me a better person.

Becoming more like Christ is the desire of every believer, and it is encouraging to know that God has the same desire for us. In fact, the Bible says that God “predestined [believers] to be conformed to the likeness of his Son”. Making us Christlike is God’s work, and He will see it through to the end.

However, the fact that God will transform us into Christlikeness doesn’t mean we can sit back and be carried to heaven. The process demands our willing cooperation with the Holy Spirit. Becoming more Christlike requires both divine power and the fulfillment of human responsibility.

Becoming more Christlike is the result of surrender to God. Romans 12:1-2 says that worship involves a total self-dedication to God. We volunteer our bodies as “living sacrifices,” and our minds are renewed and transformed.

As we surrender more to God, we will be able to emulate Christ.

Sorely a great post @gavvet.i personally see Jesus Christ as my role model. I try my best daily to be like Him-to live to be his ambassador.
'' We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God.'' - 2 Corinthians 5 vs 20

In my own little opinion, I will like to state some ways we can be like Christ.

  • Smile always.
This may seem simple, but when you’re frustrated to the moon with something, maintaining that smile isn’t as easy. You’ll show Jesus to everyone in the room with that glow of yours!

  • Love what frustrates you.
Remind yourself why you’re in the situation you’re in; think about how God wants you to pour into the people around you. People will notice your unconditional love.

  • Give.
Offer to buy your friends coffee or dinner without needing a pay back. Randomly drop off care packages or treats to people you know or you’ve seen struggling. Drop some change in those little trays at gas stations.
A little goes a long way, and people will notice your servant heart!

  • Pray without ceasing!
Pray before you eat, pray while you walk, pray when someone brings a concern to you. It’ll shock people, it’ll make them ask questions, and it will bring Jesus everywhere you go.
Speaking of prayer….pray before you leave your house.

  • Spend time with Jesus through devotionals, scripture, prayer, worship, whatever floats your boat to connect with God as you head out into your day.

I pray this helps our quest towards being like Jesus. Amen

Thank you so much for this. Really enjoying this season. Always coming here to see the reminder of our continuous act of love and selflessness. May you attain the ultimate greatness predestined for your life. Jesus christ is really an unbelievable example because of how much he lived the life God called him for. We see so much selflessnes starting from his birth to hos death. All he had in his mind was hownhe was going to be a living proof that we xan live the perfect christian life.
Christian giving must be willing giving, free giving. We learn this in 2 Corinthians 9:7 "Each one must do just as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion." But doesn't this contradict what we learned under the first principle, that Christian giving is not optional? The answer is, of course, no. True Christian giving is both mandatory and voluntary. It is required by God, but always willingly given by the believer. Is your giving to the Church something you do wholeheartedly, or indifferently, or grudgingly?
Our giving ought to be cheerful giving. As Paul says "God loves a cheerful giver." This is a truly amazing assertion. Paul assures us here that the Lord takes a special delight in those who are joyful, energetic, merry givers. Is there joy in your heart as you give? Can you truly be characterized as a "cheerful giver"?

We have not come close to reaching our potential for giving. Won't you pray that we will give as we ought? That we will give for the right motives? That we will give joyously? And that we will give extravagantly.
I have made up my mind to live the life christ has set for us. He said that we can even do greater things than he had done.

Wonderful post i must say here. Thank you for the urge and drive to be better representatives of our Kingdom here on earth.
We see God’s people bringing more than enough to meet the need — to the point that Moses must tell them to stop!

In Luke 21:1-4, Jesus compares the widow’s mite to the rich man’s gifts — demonstrating that the gifts of all are needed and used in God’s economy.
This is a well-known story — you’ve probably heard or read it many times — yet it never gets old to me. In my world of generous giving efforts, and even the big project I’m working on right now, the most powerful moments are when I hear stories of sacrifice, whether big or small, in people’s giving.

I’ve seen young children give of their allowance. I’ve seen people of means reach for the largest gift they’ve ever given to take a stand for the Bible.

In each and every case, it’s the sacrifice that counts.

Among many major givers these days, there isn’t actually much sacrifice involved in their giving. In spite of the volume of their contributions, their giving is small, relative to their total capacity. When you come across that person who sets something else aside in order to help accomplish a key task or vision — that is a special gift!

In Luke 10:25-37, Jesus tells the classic story of the Good Samaritan — one who gave time, resources, and skill to meet the need of a man who had been left for dead at the side of the road. The Samaritan makes himself vulnerable and available — the very definition of hospitality.

We don’t see too many campaigns today where givers are asked to stop giving! But when it does happen, it’s a special moment.

Giving to a cause that makes you reach for your very best gift can bring some of the greatest fulfillment you’ll ever know!

Often, over-funding a project can create a broader impact. The project can accomplish more than it was originally designed to accomplish.

I worked on a project several years ago in response to the tsunami in Indonesia. People’s response was so great that we were able to establish long-term community development in that region of the world. Long after the disaster relief, we were still there, helping the people most affect.
When we are giving, we shouldnt give to just those in our comfort zone or to people in our religion. Christ came to die for all not for just a sector. In Luke 7:1-10, as a Gentile builds a Jewish synagogue! Who could have predicted such a donor for such a cause?
Of course your conscience has to guide you as to how and where to invest your resources, but it’s healthy to keep an open mind, to genuinely consider the potential of various projects to accomplish something good and valuable, and to imagine yourself contributing to such an endeavor.
It may become a character-growth opportunity for you

(Ephesians 5 vs 1 - 2)
Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children; and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma.

Thank you @gavvet for this wonderful message in this season of Christmas. It's all about Christ and being like Him.

In my effort to be like Christ, I would treat each person from every class, race, gender, and religion with great respect. I would make sure to have one God and One Savior in my heart and mind. Kindness would be in every act of mine, and my heart would be full of forgiveness. It is after all what Jesus, more than any before him embodied, the ideal of forgiveness, no matter the situation.

Gratitude would be apparent in every of my action, and i would be remembered as one who was always filled with gratitude. However, I would always hold others in great esteem and respect while maintaining my personal ideals. I would inspire others to find God deep inside not from without in things or people, but through logic and story.

I would also want us to remember that Jesus didn't write the bible, others wrote it about him. So we should see beyond just the letters of the Bible, for the letter killeth. It is in the story, humility, and spirit of the bible we can find how this great man came to impact the world.

By God's help, I'll be able to live to please God, representing Him in every area of my life.

The most Christ-like person I know is the 77-year old man I help to take care of. He seems to have worked on his character flaws all o his life. unlike other people here in Israel, he doesn't yell and scream when something doesn't go his way. This is quite unusual here by any measure.

Wow,, great post.. Thumps up🙌

Absolutely! Studying the scriptures pays fully and is worth it studying great people in the scripture

Truly ,it is easy to do that which you have seen others do than to be the one who will break the statos quo. Why? because they have polled it from the the realm of impossibility to this physical realm.am much glad for having been reminded that I should do that which my master do.am also much delightful for reminding me to set Christ as a blue print to which I look unto and not being led by human philosophy, perception and ideology .

I learned a lot about reading this post, thanks for the excellent post.

We truly need to learn from the life and testimonies of CHRIST, His life was a laid down example the world should follow. Thank you for sharing

You are right. It gets difficult when someone himself do something.

Im not a Christian, but I have used this quote tought by my Christian friend for 20 over years..

"Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do".

This after the friend saw me cursing almost everything that I encounter with.. but to a very surprise upliftment, the quote make me to feel ease of myself, happiness were found n this become part and parcel of my life now, literally I forgive everyone n be happy always now, thanks to Lord Jesus.. :-)

Let jesus and christ prevail on every human mind and heart.

Merry christmas @gavvet
