Happy Sunday

Life is a Blessing but I feel frustrated sometimes.

A half day of rest and getting ready for the new week,
Even though I worked half a day I still feel blessed that I am alive.

I am grateful and thankful for being part of Hive.
And I also feel the same about List Nerds.
This CTPgrind challenge has been, well challenging.

I didn't get to read as much as I wanted this week. I have been reading Traffic Secrets by Russell Brunson and haven't gotten very far.
I hope to read enough this week to make some comments on it.
This week I will stop trying to work so late because it is wearing me out.

Balance is what I am searching for.
I am so driven that I have a hard time slowing down.
I am keenly aware of time and feel like I am always rushing to the next task night and day.
I said balance is what I am trying to find,
but it feels like making money is always at the top of my priorities.

I am stumped, I only have 1440 minutes in a day and it seems like I am either working or sleeping all the time.
I am not quitting but am quite frustrated and am afraid if I don't find a solution I will make myself sick.
Ok I am stopping early tonight and am going to go read a book.

What do you do to balance your time when it seems like there is not enough time?

Sort:

Prioritize!
I try to prioritize the things I need to get done and follow the list.
I know this is a simple concept, but that is how I try to get my work done.
It is difficult when you are being pulled in multiple ways.

Funny thing, I just read a post this evening that Steve, @mypathtofire, wrote.
You may find it interesting.

Thanks for the mention John! Great advice, prioritising seems the way to go.

Ya I am really working on prioritizing my life.
I will be getting into this like a science.
And that was a great post by @mypathtofire
loved it. I am so glad that we need to sleep.

What @beststart said!

Prioritize those 1440 minutes. Literally, plan your day and set the schedule that you will hold yourself to.

In a few weeks from now, you'll be blown away at the progress

!CTP

Thanks @jongolson I plan on getting into the nitty gritty of scheduling.
I have done this somewhat but I guess it is not good enough.
I am taking the Bull by the horn.
I really appreciate your input.
!CTP

Ah, that can be really tough, feeling that you must keep going all the time.
Prioritising is a good idea, but that's hard to do when everything seems like a priority!
I find it really helpful to set goals, especially for any "extra" things I'm trying to achieve - going to work and getting food seem to take care of themselves 😍.

I use the SMART approach to setting goals and, to be honest, I don't ask too much of myself. I'm more of a "all you have to do is [this small thing, whatever it is] and you will see a big difference" kind of person. I'm not really for the grind, I have a Tidy Friday when I plan nothing except sorting out anything left over from the week, and I take a break at the weekend.

I found this book really helpful: Four Thousand Weeks by Oliver Burkeman. I got it in the audio version so I could listen to it while I was driving or making food or gardening. It's one you can dip into and go back to when you need a refresh.

You might like to join us in the Saturday Savers Club if you want to set some goals for making/saving money. There's a post each Saturday, and everyone checks in with how they are doing.

Hope you get some peace soon.

Some great advice!

I do use the SMART goals but I think I need to do it better.
I have seen the Saturday Savings Club but haven't looked into it yet.
And I will take a look at the book you recommended.
Thanks for the great comment.

I think I'm rather envious of you - you're so focused on something that you really love, that you forget to sleep or do anything else...

I do have that kind of moment but I also seem to give up well when I know things are physically impossible. I think I balance my time out of necessity - I'm not getting any younger, my brain starts to lose focus in the evening. "If I don't go to bed now, I'll be exhausted tomorrow."

Yes I feel like that a lot but my day work is exhausting especially at my age. I need to change and soon before I make myself ill.
I appreciate the great comment.

I totally feel that frustration on almost a daily basis. And the older we get it feels like the 1440 go faster and faster. When I have it figured out I will let you know. Still working on that balance thing.

Thank you Lisa.
This is definitely a wake up process for me

You're welcome, Tom! Process is the key word. We need to focus on showing up and tweaking something and getting better every day. It is definitely a long game. Enjoy your day and stay cool!

@alente! You Are Alive so I just staked 0.1 $ALIVE to your account on behalf of @lisamgentile1961. (2/10)

The tip has been paid for by the We Are Alive Tribe through the earnings on @alive.chat, feel free to swing by our daily chat any time you want.

Good Morning and Thank you, @youarealive! Enjoy your day.😀

I was working a job 5 days a week and it was killing me. Come friday I was mentally drained for the weekend. I would need Saturday to recover and finally Sunday I was ready to focus on my things before Monday rolled around again.
I then managed to reduce my working weak to Mon-Thur. I earned less but got used to it. But just 1 day less a week totally rebalanced my life. Suddenly Thursday was the new Friday and the working week was already over before I knew it.

Have you set some goals? Do you track them each week? My goal is 2ETH per month, if you don't have goals, you don't know where you are heading.

I am revamping my goals and tracking them thanks to the great guidance of the List Nerds peeps and I am planning already on cutting back my work week soon. I have some obligations to finish first.
Thanks for the comment.

Good luck with your goals Tom!

Congratulations @alente! You have completed the following achievement on the Hive blockchain and have been rewarded with new badge(s):

You have been a buzzy bee and published a post every day of the week.

I forgot when was the last time I read an actual paper book and not just online. It's hard to keep balance, sometimes we need to be reminded this thing but other people. Let us know if you got your hands on a book, and which one!

CHEERS! Voted on ListNerds!

I am reading a book that @jongolson recommended to me called Traffic Secrets by Russell Brunson.
Thanks for the comment

But that book still sounds like work! 😁

As mentioned below, prioritize. I often have this issue when I get sucked into some chats or unforeseen situations. I try not to let it get to me too long and just accept it and move my schedule forward..

At least then the frustration won't take over and you can focus again with a clear mind.

Wishing you a great week!

!CTP

yes there are always adjustments that need to be made but a good schedule will help I think.
I really appreciate your comment.

You ask a very good question and this is a topic that most of us are challenged with. Like you, I have trouble balancing my time. There is no correct or right answer because everyone deals with it differently. What works for me may not work for you and visa versa.

I had to take a step back before I could move forward. I got me a simple calendar planner and at the end of each day started listing the major items I worked on that day without judging if it was the right things or not. It would only take about a minute or two to list the items each day. After about two weeks, I went back and looked at those items to see if those items moved me toward my overall objective or away from it. I found there were lots of items that I did first that I should have put aside to work on my items that would move me closer to my goals. It has helped a whole lot but I still find myself gravitating back to the items of less value and need to refocus again. I think balance is a never ending cycle. Oh and by the way, it is ok to feel frustrated at times. It helps us think about what we really want and the progress we are making. It also gives us a kick in the butt to make a change. I hope you the best of luck. Take care.

Thanks that is a great perspective also.
To know clearly what you are actually doing in a day is also an eye opener.
Thanks for the supportive comment.

Balance is the key has you emphasized, prioritizing is vey important as said, for me most is creating more time for fun activities to take your mind off work and the stress.

Ya I cant forget the fun or having time with my sweetheart.
A great reminder.
