Handmade And Hand Painted Ceramics For MarketFriday

in #marketfriday6 years ago (edited)

Yesterday I was at the craft market, again :) These craft markets are organized twice a year and obviously I have to be there, can't miss it :D

Basically there were mostly the same products like in May except for a few new ones, like these plates here.

This is new to me, I've never seen anything like this before, but I love it, it's gorgeous!

It's very detailed work and it's not cheap, which is understandable. It costs 1000 lei, which is almost $250. Would you be willing to pay that much for a plate like this?

This is like a bead work. These plates are big, around 50 cm in diameter.

This is a funny one :) The woman's head is too small for her body but it's nice though.

Another masterpiece, I can't imagine how many days it takes to finish a plate like this.

A plate with wholes and bead like decorations.

This is my favorite so far, although I can't say I don't like the other ones.

Funny shape for a plate, really original!

Two different size and many beautiful designs. I love the blue white.

Which one do you like the most from here? I would probably pick a smaller one, maybe the bottom left.

Vases and carafes.

Another plate featuring a sunflower (or not?) and some bells.

A wall full of beautiful artworks.

And the other half of the wall.

Finally some flasks.

This is my contribution to #marketfriday, hosted by our lovely Denise, @dswigle.

@melinda010100, I hope you like it 🙂

Thank you for sharing!

Keep up the good work

The ceramics pieces are certainly very beautiful! Given how many hours of work it must be to complete such very intricate painting, the price is probably not so bad; 50cm is a pretty big bowl. Artists seldom make very much money for their work.

=^..^=

Unfortunately you are right! Note many people can afford to buy such a pricey items.

You KNOW how much I like it! Beautiful photos. They are all works of art! When Steem goes to the moon I'll have you go shopping foe me!

I would really love that to happen as soon as possible! When I first saw the market I thought what's the point of photographing the same products again? I thought I would not go this time but the bug in me started working 😁 so I went.
The first thing I saw were these plates and I thought of you. I knew you would love them, so here you are, this is all for you! Enjoy 😉

I would like one of each, please! These are all quite amazing!

I thought so. The question is do you have enough space for them? I'm not going to ask about the money, you've already told me you will once steem goes up to the roof.

I might have to build on an additional room! 🤔😁

It is a lot of hard work to produce these pieces of art and it is not easy.
All the patterns and colours are very beautiful and hard to choose which one I like the most.

Thank God we don't have the money to buy them, this way we can spare ourselves of this dilemma 😁

Well said. LOL
Then I will keep on admiring them on your photos.

I'll do the same at the scene :)

This is a beautiful post, Erika. Amazing craft. I would buy some of those beautiful plates. But my son... Do you know that saying? "Bull in a china store". He has a thing for breaking stuff. 😂

Elephant in a china store! :D I know the feeling, I have an elephant who breaks things, mine is old :D

Do you have a son or a daughter? How old is he/she?

It is a bull in a china store. This is the correct saying listed in Cambridge Dictionary. The elephant saying is part of the slang vocabulary and it is more recent. We are both right. 🙂

No, no, I don't have kids, I was referring to my dad 😁
He is so careless at times, like an elephant 🐘😂

Looks like I'll be taking lessons from you, couldn't be bothered to look this up 😊

Oh, your dad. That's funny. My dad was very clumsy too. If you wanted to break something, just hand it to him. 🙂
Do you know how I learned the correct form? One of our managers (British guy) was doing many stupid things so someone had to step in and do something about it). With my colleagues blessings, I started a conversation with the guy. Shortly, the discussions took a nasty path and I told him he is like an elephant in a china store. He started to shout saying that he is not an elephant but a person with weight problems. So I looked up the expression and found the correct version and the explanations. 😂

My dad is not clumsy, he just don't care or can't or won't pay attention. I guess it comes with age.
He broke 3 glasses in a second and so on 😁
I told him from now on I'm going to give him only plastic things or rubber things 😋
Good to know about the bull, next time imv with foreigners I'm not going to make this mistake 😉

Poor fellow. Breaking glasses or plates is considered to bring good luck. So why punishing him for this great initiative? Plastic or rubber would not have the same effect. 😂

Amazing ceramics! Great photos, rsteemed :)

Thank you very much Keith!

Each of the plates is a work of art and the collection when viewed altogether in your photographs is breathtaking, Erikah!
Wouldn't it be amazing to own and display all of these in a glass cabinet or on a wall in your home! Happy Friday! @erikah

It would be great but I guess most of us would need another room, only for these :)

Yes, and there are too many other things to do with an extra room. People are down-sizing into smaller homes. Have you seen the tiny homes that are popular?

I guess "tiny" is relative, it depends on the person. In many cases people rent or build a big house, half of which is not used. And all this to show off, to have more than their friends or family. I had a conversation about this a few weeks ago with someone here on Steemit. I grew up during some very tough times, I have a very different opinion about this.

Beautiful craftmanship and wonderful photography @erikah Many hours have gone into creating these lovely ceramics and the detail is very intricate, so it is perfectly understandable that they are expensive. If I was fortunate to own one, I'd use it only as a decoration as I'd be too scared of breaking it by handling it too much.

Thank you dear Trudee, this is only for decoration purposes, at this price ...

That's some really beautiful work and such lovely colors thanks for sharing nice to see different cultures works of art !!

Upper and Resteemed !!

Thank you for the nice comment @bigsambucca!

My eye was immediately drawn to the top green plate, beautiful artistry.

What beautiful shots of these Romanian/Hungarian traditional plates. The beadwork on them is absolutely incredible and soooo much work! They. of course, would immediately find a place on my shelf! I especially love the blue and whites and the one with the unusual borders.

Your photos of them are awesome! Thank you for so many different ones!

How wonderful to have these Markets available to you, Erika! Not everywhere can you see these no even buy them. I don't have the patience for tiny work anymore, but I do like it a lot.

Thank you for bringing us to our favorite kind of market! I appreciate the time and effort spent putting together a post for #MarketFriday!

Have a nice weekend, my friend!

Upped and Steemed

Thank you so, so much dear Denise! You're always leaving such wonderful comments that I can hardly find the right words to thank you!
Let's say these posts are my way of saying thank you for being my lovely friend and for always helping and supporting me! 😍♥️💖💝
Have a nice weekend 😊

Thank you! You know it is always my pleasure!

I know sweetie 😘

very classic and beautiful patterns there @erikah

Many thanks @mcsamm!

Oooooh! it is very beautiful but I would not buy a plate for 250 dollars :) even for Israel it is very expensive. I especially liked the jugs. but if they are as expensive as that plate, then it is not for me :)))

The jugs are not expensive, you could buy one :) the plates are expensive because of the detailed work :)

Perfect and beautiful... 👌

Another beautiful display of culture craftsmanship :)

Thank you!
