One of my greatest challenges at the moment is the realisation that, despite my best efforts, my message and talents are not truly connecting with folks.
Not only here on Steemit but elsewhere too.
I have a solid work ethic and belief that what I am doing is of value but struggle with the apathetic response much of my work receives.
I simply am not connecting with my, and I hate this over used buzzword of our day, tribe.
There is some consolation in the knowledge that this is not an uncommon path for many creative souls but this does little to solve the issue which is in itself twofold in nature. Firstly how is a person to stay motivated when their honest work is falling on deaf ears and eyes? And second how is a gal to connect with an engaged, appreciative and loyal audience?
The other week a member of my spirit team, Jason, popped by to give me a pep talk. He encouraged me to think of my work as an enjoyable hobby and I was reminded that all is as it should be at any given time. I am still in the process of building my solid foundations – I am lining up my embryonic ducks.
And the truth is that I have an inner knowing that all will be well eventually but I am impatient for eventually to arrive. Like yesterday!
This attitude is erroneous in several ways ~ through my longing I attract lack, and then there is the not so small matter of divine timing and the fact that I am not allowing myself to enjoy the journey.
So here I sit pondering solutions to my wobbly motivation.
They may be of benefit to you:
~ Enjoy the ride and take the time available to you to build solid foundations for whatever it is you are striving towards without having to be in the spotlight. Luxuriate in your anonymity and peoples’ lack of expectations.
~ Remember you are a work in progress and it ain’t over until the large bird warbles! It is never too late to shine.
~ Keep enlightening your soul by whatever means. I prefer cerebral self-development activity but sports and connecting with nature, sucking in a huge lungful of fresh air certainly works wonders and getting a physical stretch on is mighty beneficial.
~ Be still; busy is good but productive busy is built on productive non busy - never feel guilty for taking time out and just being.
~ Cultivate happiness and have a good 'larf'– be silly and childlike. Play and be creative. Keep your energy high; sing, dance and pump up the volume of music which feeds your happy. Know that happiness is an inside job and is not reliant on outside trappings.
~ Refuse bitterness and resentment. Sure there are a lot of players with little talent scoring big-time in the game of life – good for them! Know that through considered, progressive and steady work you too will have your day.
~ Be grateful for what you have now and stop looking around the corner for brighter shining bauble-y distractions. Live for and in the now.
~ Develop self-reliance and hold the faith knowing that the spiritual realm is real and supports your genuine soul mission efforts when motivated for the greater good of all.
~ Distance yourself from the nay-sayers and haters and surround yourself with people who believe in you and if they are thin on the ground stand tall and alone like a beacon of light and hope.
~ Add value to others. The smallest act of giving creates delicious high vibe energetic ripples.

You are only going to get bigger we all will if we stay here & keep churning out good content. The big money will come so long as our reps keep rising. You don't need to change anything in my opinion. Think of it as a snowball gathering more snow as it rolls you just have to keep it rolling.

February is the worst month so I have that to look forward to. Still every cloud & all that, Spring isn't far away & I love the life in the summer. I notice every added minute of daylight as the days get longer it's only 3 minutes each day I treasure every one.
Ahh, the tribe comes together, some leave, some stay. I find that sunshine is the best motivator for me haha, and often I figure I should just work for myself. I dont really care too much if what I write falls on deaf ears, though I do mostly research. I am just glad that its not only my teachers reading my work! I learn for me and share what I know.
I figure if your philosophize more in your writing then its more for others then for oneself.

Your work will evolve in this phase. I think that's what it's all about. It's an important phase to just be putting stuff out there even if no one is seeing it. In the action is how we evolve. But people are seeing it! Even if it's just a few of us, you're still connecting with some cool people and making an impact on us. And hey, maybe in the future is when people are going to be reading the work you're putting out now.

As you say this is an evolving phase but bugger me this has been ongoing for the last 10 years!
I am told that I must work on my patience but think 10 years is enough to try the patience of a saint which I surely ain't!

Sometimes it does feel like you are just spinning your wheels here, but you are fairly new to Steem. It takes time and constant attention in order for you to get noticed. You need to engage to the fullest of your ability. Not only making great content but engaging, reading and commenting on others posts. It will come. One day you will look at your account and see the growth. Patience my padawan. All good things come in time.

Patience, consistency, commitment, honesty, generosity and faith are key.
I know this but sometimes forget it!

Wow seriously you expressed my views and inner feelings too...i too think sometimes that all the hard work i am doing is never going to worth...feels demotivated and stressed ...then start reading about the successive peoples who have worked day and night for success ..lets ignore negativity and dedicate our 100% without thinking about anyone ,,,i am sure we will rock one day ....Thanks for sharing

You haven't been here too long, and I remember feeling the same... (I still do!).
Spend time engaging with real comments on other feeds - as you interact more you will pick up more followers...
It's a slow process if your aim is to grow organically, through real people, not up voting bots
(I don't use bots anymore, and I personally find myslef not up voting people as much that use that strategy day in day out. I used them for a while and stopped)

Organic anything is the only sane way forward...
I had this feeling of isolation for a long time, I was living in the Netherlands and didn’t have many friends. When I started to travel more this all changed, I met more like minded hearts, especially in Glastonbury, England.
Somehow, since I stopped staying in one place I keep making new connections... and I feel much more connected as well!
Now this resonates ~ big time!
A social creature I live in a ditch alot of the time and miss real life connections.
Glad you sorted this out for yourself.
Hopefully once we move to Bulgaria, where the people are super kind, this will change for me.

make good content - post it -and let people vote on it. the votes are steem and steem dollars- they can converted in $ or grow your stake in steem (paid into your wallet after 7 days )
