Test driving Canon PowerShot SX730 HS
Recently up at the mountains took the opportunity to see what results this digital camera offers, here goes with testing, now which do you prefer of the three below?
Set up was planning to test black and white, found there is much to learn on this handy little camera. Zoom is impressive when out on the move, many hidden features to enjoy in the future learning.
Tips for protecting when on the move, shopped around and found a GoPro soft carrier bag to use outdoors more pocket protection, an Orico hard case for travel fitted camera perfectly to protect the camera when traveling.
What I do enjoy nifty pocket camera you are able to carry it whenever you leave the home, it really is handy in automatic mode for point and shoot, finding the hidden extras makes it all the more interesting.
All three photographs: _f_5.6 1/250 sec ISO-80 Focal length 49mm, my preference leans toward the striking black and white, capturing a lot more detail.

I also prefer the black and white. I wonder if you could lighten the small dark patch near the center. Can you shoot raw with this camera? That usually affords the best post-processing, at the expense of eating up SD cards.

Sadly this little camera does not offer raw facility, I did not retouch or edit at all prior posting, resized for ease of uploading only.
Using GIMP or Photoshop you could lighten areas, or perhaps reset contrast slightly have not looked into that but will keep it in mind.
Thanks for visiting @toddrjohnson
That’s a nice capture for a black & white test.
Im also thought of getting a go pro for underwater shots.
Very meaningful thought of the day
Under water equipment must be ultimate, peacefully gliding by enjoying the deep. Hope you get to enjoy your dream of underwater photography.

Want to have your post on the map too?
Definitely the black and white!
Gives nice detail, thanks for comment @roselifecoach
My pleasure @joanstewart.
I like the first one the best. All three make interesting photos though. Thanks for sharing the photos and the info about the camera.
Have started to enjoy this camera more now that I have started understanding features offered @blueeyes960
I seem to agree with the others here Lady Joan, that first shot in monochrome is striking. Maybe it's because I am used to the color ones, but black and white lends a certain character to it.
Blessings!
Also normally only shoot in colour, black and white gives a totally different feel Stephen.
I like the B&W, the image more stand out with the contrast.
Definitely gives more detail in photo, thanks for comment and vote @joelai
My pleasure @joanstewart!
B and W ones look like out from this world
Has been fun, great to find out who enjoys B&W photography @psyceratopsb
I prefer the black & white. I love the contrast and the details that are shown much better.
Final size of photo in B&W is almost one third bigger, another sign as to how much more the camera takes more detail in @ikarus56
Beautiful scenery!
Thanks @fullcoverbetting
I think I prefer the color one. The black and white does have a lot of depth, but I still like the color one. The sepia one does have the look of a really old photograph faded with time, so I guess something in all three versions work.
Now the scene reminds me of the Grand Canyon sort of, looks like that would be an interesting place to explore, especially some of the nooks and crannies.
Having colour photography around for so long we tend to expect colour. B&W did hold a lot more detail, sepia was a flash back mix between old and new, interesting using same frame in different filters.
Being out enjoying nooks and crannies is where the fun lies, sandstone cliffs always great backdrop to use in photography, thanks for visiting @bashadow
I like more the first black and white shot.
It really make the details more easy to the eye and make a better photo.

Amazing what the eye does see when colour is excluded, thanks for commenting @neuerko
Hmm... That's hard to pick...
If this option exists I'll pick a mix of the black and white and the colour one, like the splash effect provided by mobile apps. Probably it will be a unique chemical reaction we haven't seen before :)

Previous camera I had I only used auto and video, this time I am determined to learn more by testing what it offers.
Recently given great tips and support from @keithboone and @tattoodjay to use manual more, seeing amazing B&W photography here on Steem made me start thinking and reading a lot more.
Thanks for sharing your insight @lilacse
Really hard to pick as they are all great but if i had to choose one if would be number 3
Great to get input, definitely makes one think about the various options at a click of a button, this little camera is becoming quite something to enjoy.
Glad your having fun with the camera thats what t should all be about
This was a tough choice! All three are awesome! Overall, I think that I would have to say I like the B&W the best. The contrast brings out the interesting lines in the mountains!
Cliffs get a black seepage down the light sandstone creating a different feel, nice to see you again Roger, trust you are well!
The first one is my favorite, by far! What beautiful rocks!
Something to test and play a lot more with Melinda, next time on the beach will have to see what contrasting effects I will be able to get.
You impress me with your efforts to learn how you camera works. I often just say 'huh, I wonder why it did that'?
The monochrome really gives it a moon-like feel to me. I am too late to vote this, but will vote your latest post :)
