Rules
TLDR; answer the prompt as a comment on this post using words from a random Wikipedia article
- No resteem or upvote is necessary, although it is greatly appreciated. If I ever start earning more than 4 STU from these posts I will increase the number of winners.
- Use the Random Article feature on Wikipedia to get your valid list of words (your "White Cards", for those of you familiar with the actual party game). This link will take you to a random article. You can use any word(s) on the screen - intro, nav bar, anything!
- Answer in the form of a comment on this post. The format of your comment should be two lines: your word(s), and the link to the article you used (see sample answer to this week's prompt below)
- If you want to keep rolling for new random articles, that's your decision, although it's not in the spirit of the game. If you get a very short "stub" article or something written in another language, feel free to roll again though!
- If you intentionally use a specific Wikipedia article, I can't stop you, but again, it's not in the spirit of the game.

Prizes
There will be three shares of SBI awarded as prizes.
- One share to my own personal favorite
- One share to the crowd favorite (as measured by the number of upvotes, not the dollar amount)
- One share to a random qualifying entry
I've also set a small Steem Bounty on this post. All valid entries will qualify. I'd also recommend subscribing to @dustsweeper for maximum benefit.
This contest will run for a week, at which time I'll close it out, announce the winners, and kick off the next round.
Anyway, thanks for playing, and have fun! Here's the random Wikipedia article link again. See you in the comments below!

Emergency Court of Appeals
The Emergency Court of Appeals was a temporary federal court established by the United States during World War II, whose purpose was to review wage- and price-control matters. The Court, established by the Emergency Price Control Act of 1942, had "exclusive jurisdiction to set aside such regulation, order, or price schedule, in whole or in part, to dismiss the complaint, or to remand the proceeding". This exclusive grant of jurisdiction was upheld by the Supreme Court of the United States in Lockerty v. Philips (1943).

Quaker Hill Historic District (Waterford, Connecticut)
The Quaker Hill Historic District encompasses the center a mainly residential village in northeastern Waterford, Connecticut. Running in a mostly linear fashion along Old Norwich Road between Connecticut Route 32 and Richard Grove Road, the area first grew as a settlement of religious non-conformists in the 17th century, developed in the 19th century as a small industrial village, and became more suburban in character in the 20th century. Its architecture is reflective of these changes, and it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.
Still living in the past, I see.

Aww, that's great! I know the game from some videos, I never played it myself. Maybe I'm old ... :D
Here's my answer:
Prague

We each have our own places we loathe I suppose :P
Actually picking one single word was not an easy decision. :D
But I've been to Prague just once - about 30 years ago. Could be nice to go there again. So loathing doesn't meet my feelings here. And I can't turn back time. :/
Spain at the 1978 European Athletics Championships
Spain competed at the 1978 European Athletics Championships in Prague, then Czechoslovakia, from 29 August to 3 September 1978.
For the first time, a Spanish athlete won a medal in the European Athletics Championships.

Well shoot, that would distract me plenty too.
Nathan Gafuik

I am going to just have to assume he is so devastating handsome that you spend hours looking at photos of him at the expense of posting to Steemit XD
I just Googled him. I had no idea who is was. haha He's a bit too short for me! :)

eh, that's not really...
ok, that's totally what this is.
By the way, I was hoping against all hopes that I would get "Cinnabun" somewhere in my article and get a guaranteed win, but alas, 'twas not to be.
the insult and humiliation entailed in taking and destroying a fortified residence
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gunzelin,_Margrave_of_Meissen
First one, and actually a fascinating read!
Thanks for that history lesson on events close to my town of birth. :)
Gunzelin, Margrave of Meissen
Gunzelin of Kuckenburg (c. 965 – after 1017) was Margrave of Meissen from 1002 until 1009.
He was the second son of Margrave Gunther of Merseburg (c. 949 – 982), thereby the younger brother of Margrave Eckard I of Meissen, and possibly half-brother (or brother-in-law) of the Polish prince Bolesław I the Brave. Gunzelin held allods around Kuckenburg Castle (in present-day Obhausen) near Querfurt.
After the death of his father at the 982 Battle of Stilo, his elder brother was enfeoffed with the Margraviate of Meissen by King Otto III. In 1002, following Eckard's failed attempt at the throne in the German royal election and his subsequent assassination, Bolesław occupied Meissen, but the new king, Henry II forced him to leave it and accept the March of Lusatia with the adjacent Milceni lands instead.
This is weirdly specific. But I like it :)
Hi friend, this is my participation, I hope you like it:

Etch A Sketch
Etch A Sketch is a mechanical drawing toy invented by André Cassagnes of France and subsequently manufactured by the Ohio Art Company and now owned by Spin Master of Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
An Etch A Sketch has a thick, flat gray screen in a red plastic frame. There are two white knobs on the front of the frame in the lower corners. Twisting the knobs moves a stylus that displaces aluminum powder on the back of the screen, leaving a solid line.
I love it! That's hilarious to think that you are so enamored with an etch-a-sketch that you miss out on time on Steemit.
It's true, my friend. I can't imagine doing that to stop writing in Steemit. I'm glad you liked it.
Greetings!
