Slow progress is better than no progress - PEvO report

Time is right for an update about PEvO!

pevo.png

Since a couple of weeks, @shak is building up networks in the scientific community as well as the bigger blockchain space. His own introduction will follow soon, don't miss it!
This has lead to a couple of impressive names signaling interest, it's not far enough to disclose them yet though. Except one.

Today, we finally had our first Skype call with the author of the metastudy cited extensively in our whitepaper, Nikolaus Kriegeskorte. He loves our ideas and in the end he agreed to be an official advisor of the PEvO project!

He stated, like others before, that the main problem will be convincing researchers to switch to our platform. They are used to what they already use, and as bad as the current process is, everyone has found their ways to deal with it.
The superior technology is not enough of a reason by itself. But the Impact Points system is under heavy critique, and providing a sound alternative to that is our greatest angle. If we can provide a system through which we will be able to evaluate the quality of the work, we can provide an incentive to switch.

So what we need are people from all over the publishing process to work out what makes a contribution worth something. If you think you or someone you know would be a great match for us, please recommend!

We have some more materials as hand outs to present the project, and everyone's welcome to contribute wherever they feel they can.

Thanks for your support!

This is one of the most interesting projects to be implemented on Blockchain. If you happen to fit in to contribute or if you know someone who could contribute, please extend your helping hand.

There are golos.io very good programmers in the project. They did a lot with a variety of improvements on golos.io.

Maybe you invite them to your project?

One of the obvious advantages of the blockchain for scientific publication is the ability to securely document the time of the publication of a scientific discovery. Maybe PEvO will in the beginning not replace the traditional journals (they are generating much more reputation than a newly startet web project), but offer a tool for pre-publication scientific discoveries. - In other words, maybe you should invent a new kind of scientific publication. Scientist could publish small discoveries (pre-papers) on PEvO to prove they discovered it first, as well as regular scientific papers.

That sound really good!

Have a nice day!!

hope this does well

Any news on this project? I am really anxious to know more. Thank you again @pharesim

#PEvO

This could potentially change the world. If #pharma alone saw this post, they would try to shut it down in a heart beat. I will keep an eye on this. Hope I can help somehow.

This is something I was just wondering about yesterday! Glad to see you all moving forward, even if it is inch by inch. One thing that I think must be overcome is that researchers are very particular about high impact factor, and this would need to be addressed as they want to be able to show that they published their research somewhere with IF during tenure and review.

Right! This is where we need expertise to brainstorm and perhaps help formulate it in the most effective way.

Yes, that is something I see in in my field often - the resistance to change. We just did an upgrade to an add-in tool and are users fought us tooth and nail because the UI was a bit different even though the new tool is 5 times better.

Once you breakthrough that big initial levee though, momentum gains week as people realize the new way is much better.

Best of luck with the progress!

I will tell you if i find some. If I can help to publish please tell me how and what is to do.

Hey come check out my blog, I am putting out some high quality work that I think you would be interested in seeing, thank for the post, I appreciate the support

Whys it so hard to make it on here :( some people make so much from a post while others work is unseen.. @pharesim

Resteemed :-)

Nice Post ! Resteemed 😎

Sounds interesting, I will follow up on this project.

thanks for sharing

Most people lack the patience, thats why the fail :) Great writing!

Keep the post coming, sounds like an interesting project.... our children would probably consider our present blockchain 12 century technology.... life is an interesting thing, you may be unto the journeys on your life..... continue the good work

Wow I love your guy's logo. It totally caught my attention. Just read the whitepaper, and I must say pevo sounds interesting. I will definitely be keeping an eye out. If things rule out I'd expect some pretty cool stuff coming out of this. Keep it up.

Great info @pharesim I think I might have someone for you I will talk to them today.

Best of luck ! Wish you all the best

thank you for good posting.

When few players perish in the contest I’m running, I will definitely head over to the white paper, read it and promote it!

Nice logo!

So glad to read that this project is still alive!

wonderful insight...learnt a lot...keep sending... @pharesim

Peer review by blockchain.
Probably more open than normal peer review methods.

Great read. Follow me for the latest tech headlines from my paid subscription to the Wall Street Journal.

Good Luck with the project!

Seems like an interesting one indeed. I 'm waiting for it.

It seems that it will be a great project and that's good news
I will check the people that I follow and see if someone can be helpful to the project and community

It's good to have a good plan. For the #science!

Great post. Many benefits can be taken from the reading ... thanks @pharesim

hups i learned something new and this is a great thing here
i will have definitely an eye on it.

slow and steady progress is good if you pass from the competitive to the creative mind.

Congratulations on the momentum @pharesim. I still have crypto-training-wheels but I love learning about ground level projects like PEvO. I shift about 1/3 of my Steemit rewards to a savings for new blockchain ICO's. I'm going to go back through a few of your posts and read up.

Sorry, no ICO here. We wanna take out the middlemen, not replace them.

I see. Could you give an example of how this would work then? I'm in the Psychoanalysis field, one in dire need of scientific writing, and I find this project very interesting for that reason, perhaps it could enrich my field. ^^

Best starting point is the whitepaper on the website. I'm happy to answer all open questions here or on steemit.chat

You seems like very very interesing and helpfull man!

Thank you

Welcom plz all friend support me on my page
@pharesim

Congratulations!
One breakthrough leads to more -
Good luck and may PEvO be a huge success!

That sounds like a terrific project @pharesim - Science is sth i will never really understand but a topic i am always after in TV serials, history stuff - just as it is a mystery. Great project it seems, can't wait to see more soon!

Sounds interesting but need more info

Nice to know the project.

This looks very interesting. I haven't heard of PEvO before, but I took a look at their website, could you share a little bit more about it? Is it like an ICO or just a project on the platform?

Thanks for sharing!

It's a project for steem, and will be run as a non-profit. The initial funding is provided by my witness, later on we hope to receive enough support from the scientific community to keep it up.

Now this is interesting! Please keep me posted ;)

Very interesting !

Thank you for this information @pharesim Please tell me here can I find more info on your project?

Interesting :-) Hey, I see you are in Andalus amigo - we are near Almunecar :-) Happy San Juan!

Hi @pharesim,
