Let me fucking sleep!
Can it really even be called a sleeping schedule when it's so irregular? I've never ever had a regular sleep pattern, not even as a little kid. I was always up at odd hours and taking naps in the daytime. I remember watching WWE or those weird chat programs all through the night, thank god we have Netflix now!
In my current work, I start about 5am and get off around noon. I haven't slept for more than an hour or two at night, but then I often go to bed after work and sleep for hours. When everyone else is going to sleep, I wake up and do all the things normal people do in the daytime. Then again, sometimes, like today, I feel perky all day and don't take a nap. That might mean that I sleep well at night time, but probably won't.
In a world where you can shop online 24/7, there is always at least some grocery store open and you can chat to people around the world when ever you want, is it really that weird to stay up at odd hours?
My weird sleep times are not directly a problem to me, but it sure as hell is a problem for most of the people in my life. I've always been critiqued about the fact that I'm very happily sleeping in the middle of the day for 5 hours, not returning texts or wanting to hang out with someone. But I am a loner, and often don't want to hang out with people even if I were awake and well rested. I've been getting really cranky lately when people bug me to go somewhere with them.
I really just want to hang out at home, take some pictures, watch tv, sleep, eat, scroll Steemit etcetera WHEN EVER I FEEL LIKE IT. I've been really happy for couple days just being alone and doing things at my own pace. Though I've been at work in the morning, but for the rest of the day, I've been alone doing my own thing. I really like my routine (lasting all of three days..) of going to work, getting off early, shooting something, then taking a four hour "nap", waking up to chill, eat and make a post in here. Eliminate work from this combo and I'm happy as a chappy can be.
Can any of you relate to being more happy alone, than with other people?
Checking your comments and getting all fluffy inside.
I pity the people who always sleep at night. There is a whole world they're missing.
No shame!
I love the night time too. I don't want to miss it! Not even for a few hours more of sleep ;)
Day-walkers don't know what they're missing.
I don't tell them about it either. You earn this perspective, shedding the coils of a standard sleep schedule to contemplate the worn surfaces of frequented roadways.
What society calls "alone" I call "free".
Free of expectations, free of judgement and free of anything but your passing whims and desires. They fear the ability to make a choice, to have a multitude of possibilities instead of a dreary connect-the-dots existence.
If it was a menu, theirs would read - "Work, TV, Sleep".
Creatives can't live that way.
I've always been a night owl and people were always like why are you sleeping in so much. Now I work at nightclubs and say because I work nights fools!👺
It's a good excuce :D
like @eveuncovered
Nocturlnalism at its best :D
I work from 3PM till midnight and that is far from being the worst. I have done an 8PM to 5AM shift for a couple of years and lost 10 pounds. Considering my built, I got to the point when even my eating habits changed significantly. So I said f*ck it, I am not going to kill myself here just to get some sort of living (the irony).
Me and my wife are living a broke lifestyle to start a farm in 3 to 5 years when we can finally live a normal sleeping pattern, but now that I read this post, maybe still not. I imagine late night beers, and waking up early for the livestocks and crops. At least we get to be together more, and spend time with the kids.
Thanks for sharing this and keep rocking!
I've done pretty much every shift possible other than a full on night shift. I think the nine to five was the absolute worst, I don't know how people can do that! ;d
Starting a farm with your family sounds wonderful! Hope it works out well :)
Thanks! Then I can build a shower next to the cows and goat inspired by your decorated shower in one of your posts ☺
Definitely, hope you'll get some natural light in yours!
Nice post @eveuncovered. I totally can relate to this. I love the nighttime. All is different and dreamy. But I like to spend this time with others. Talking to a glass vine or something like that. Nice photos btw ;)
Each their own. I do like to share that time with someone sometimes, like after a night out.
I start work at 8-9pm so I barely know what it is to sleep during night time.. even on my days off I can't go to bed before 5 am lol.
So much time to do things during the day when normal people are at work!
Stress-free solitude can be profoundly rewarding as you undoubtedly know... Agree on many points - long-time King-Of-The-Loners here! :)
Hello fellow loner!
Well, hello there to you too.. :)
I allways work at different times, every day, Variety is the best!
Yes, keeps things interesting!
I like my alone time too. Maybe that is why I enjoy the outdoor sports so much. Sitting in the woods alone and hearing things come to life are good therapy. Sometimes I even wear underwear.
I wonder what outdoor sport requires being naked in the woods.
I'd say that you'd be good at that sport. ;)
I love the night-time, and I also love the early morning, they are both beautiful times. My issue is that I seem to sleep too little, and I'm always getting shit for that. Six hours is the absolute maximum I seem to be able to sleep. I can sympathise with how annoying people can be over sleep schedules. People read one study about how "early birds are more productive/healthier/have better sex/are immortal" and become armchair experts. It's weird how people like to criticise over the weirdest shit.
Well, I think your body tells you what is enough for you. Mine would be happy to sleep 12 hours every other day and 4 in between :D
My work requires me to be an early bird and while it does come with it's benefits, it fucking sucks to wake up at 4am and go to work. Waking up to do your own thing would not be bad.
Muy bueno diria que excelente las horas de la noche son deliciosas para muchas cosas despierto, beberse un cafe o una cola, leer o ver Tv
Very good I think so similar to me, I like to sleep the 3 or 4 am after of drink a coffee and read a book or watch Tv and wake up at 7 am for going to work
I like these comments with two languages :D
I know the feeling. I have followed and up-voted
Thanks for stopping by! :)
ya ive worked alot fifo where id do 12 hour days starting at 9 or 10pm for 21+ days straight...my sleeping paterns are none existent
Shit, that sounds crazy.
heh, weed helps i find
I haven't tried any :D
Same here never had a decent sleep, i work night shift and 3 kids that need constant attention althroughout the day, and my only time for myself is nightine when they are asleep
Hope the kids grow up fast into horrible teenagers who don't want to hang out with their dad so you'll have more time for yourself! ;D

Yes they are!
wow, very good
Yeah thanks, though I think praise like that is a bit hollow if you don't bother to upvote the post.
i just upvoted it. I was multi-tasking too many things, and I slipped my mind. Fixed now.
Thank you, it's the thought that counts, right? ;)
I'm so grateful that my wife and I are both such loners, and we live at the end of a long road surrounded by woods and water. Since I've gone self-employed, I've spent up to two weeks without leaving the house (other than walks and jogging).
The nocturnal schedule is great for getting stuff done when the world is quiet. But I wonder if you have narcolepsy? It definitely makes mince-meat of regular sleeping patterns. The other big symptom is dreaming during the day, or going straight to REM sleep as soon as you lie down.
Nice to see your face so clearly in these pictures. It's one of your best features!
Oh my, what a dream life! Not leaving the house for days is the best thing ever, as long as there is food and internet :P
I've been actually thinking about the narcolepsy thing, because when I fall asleep during the day it's straight to dreaming and deep sleep.
Thank you very much for liking my face! :P
I know how it feels not having a sleeping schedule and to be honest: I love it! It's great if you have the chance to be independent and just sleep whenever you want. But the only thing I don't really like about it is that everyone else sleep at the same time except for me.. that's why I try to change it sometimes, just to make sure that I spend time with the people I'm surrounded by :)
The only thing I don't like is work that gets in the way of my own schedule :D
I try to be a decent friend too sometimes and stay awake to see my friends, even when I don't feel like it.
Hi, I like your pics!
Hi and thank you :)
Nice eveuncovered. Thanks for sharing.
I used to work a schedule called a 2-2-2-80: Two day shifts, come back the second night for the start of two midnight to eight am shifts, come back the second shift to start the 4 to midnight shift. So in essence, 6 shifts in 5 days followed by 80 hours off. You find out very quickly what your internal clock is best suited for, I too am a nocturnal creature and still to this day sleep randomly, I can fall asleep sitting at a desk, then be up for hours at night. So many ideas rushing at me, things seem clearer to me at night.
If I had my way, I would sleep until 11 or noon and be active until 2 or 3 AM.
Such a pretty girl shouldn't be lonely ;-)
I absolutely love this post, you just gained a follower and a upvote, @eveuncovered would you do the same for me?
I can relate to being perfectly happy on your own. It is something my family has come to accept and they give me plenty of me time when I need it. I thought I was strange :) Nice post!
Let us be strange together :)
We all require our alone time, void of having to entertain others, free to just be oneself.
New record! 30 secs for reading the whole post! Amazing!
