Hi there my Steemian friends and followers!
Mushroom picking is considered one of the national hobbies here in the Czech Republic and I am a huge fan of this outdoor activity too. I love wandering through the forest in any season of the year but the possibility to pick some nice mushrooms (that you can make yourself a fantastic dinner from) makes these forest roams even more exciting and enjoyable so I was really excited to find out that this year´s mushroom season has already begun here :)
My first catch was not overly impressive, it actually was just a bunch of young red cracking boletes (Xerocomellus Chrysenteron) but it was still enough to make some delicious, super creamy mushroom sauce from it ;)
I had my cell phone camera with me so here is a little photo sample of what @liltammy and me found in the Radun Forest here in the Moravian - Silesian Region of the country just a few days ago.
Nice little fellas right? But you know what? Even if there are no mushrooms, being in the forest is always amazing experience just because you are embraced by these gentle giants.
Forest bathing at its finest :) My favorite way of recharging energy. It is just so sad that many beautiful forests here in the Czech Republic had to be cut down recently because they had been badly damaged by droughts, bark beetles and wind storms :(

It's something we don't do over here, but a friend of mine who comes from Finland does the same and goes back to Finland each year just to pick mushrooms :D So cool.

I have actually read somewhere that there is a huge controversy about mushroom picking in Europe. Some nations love it while others find it disgusting :D So the Dutch are somewhere in the middle? :)
Haha - We just don't really have an opinion on it - we might not have enough nature/woods to sort of make this a habit :-) Most of our country is a city state anyway :D I know I was surprised when the Turkish people in our country went berry picking near the water I lived at when I was younger - it's just not something 'we' do, but people from other cultures did it anyway :-)
Haha, we pick berries too :) Actually, I think we pick everything that can be picked :D

I usually eat it just with eggs and no meat so it is as vegan as it gets for me :D

Yes, we do :) I have no experience with them but some people know where these mushroos grow and they go there to pick them and have fun with them :D

Musím se taky pochlubit. Můj největší úlovek roku 2010. Podzim. Byl nedaleko silnice, kde by ho nikdo nečekal...
Dovézt ho domů na kole nebylo jednoduché :)
No teda, to je dobrý obr :D Takové kousky znám jen z médií, já nikdy nic takového nenašel. Teda když nepočítám pýchavky :)
To jo, překvapilo mě, že ho nenašel nikdo přede mnou. Ani nebyl moc červivý.

Nádherný úlovek. Dovedu si představit otlačené kolena a lokty při pořizování snímků :-)
