I love vietnamese food and nuoc mam cham (which is made with nuoc mam, chili garlic sauce, sugar, vinegar and water)which we call fish sauce. My youngest hates fish but likes this fish sauce but she changed the name to sea sauce because of her fish prejudice.

The stuff I'm talking about I think is different... They wrapped fish up in leaves and buried them and let them rot- then they poured off the juice.
My stuff is made with that(from a bottle though).
Those guys had it coming out of their pores... You could smell it on them 10 feet away! And when it comes to fish- I'm with your daughter!

The stuff your talking about is the origin of soy sauce and ketchup. The Romans had a version called Garum.
