The Yarrow Flower A Fairy Tail
Have you seen at Spring-time
many months ago
when the yarrow flowers lay
Like snow drifts at woods edge,
A fairy tickling a wood mouse?
A little mouse all whiskers and tail
Sitting on Yarrow flowers
Minding her thoughts.
A fairy is looking for fun
A tale is a ladder to laughter
these spring days are full of glee!
I promised you a story and found a poem instead.

You have outdone yourself with this art! I was waiting for the final result, but little did I know it will blow my mind off hihi! :) I love the bold outlines and the realistic fur of the mouse! Very cute and happy image. And the poem is cool, too! Yerrow as in yellow, right? It's old English?
I posted the finished piece a while ago and promised a story to go with it, but all that came out was a poem. Since I don't write poems I figured I would post it, something new to work with and lighten up my blog. Thank you @shinyforest.

Shone your follicle Days
After the winter and after the length of his frown
We show you a screen of your pride
And the breeze gave us a rainbow
Deviating from dreams.

This is what I wrote, it is of Arabic poetry :p
I’ve read some master poets and philosophers from your many and diverse cultures...Rumi comes to mind. I like to study comparative religious philosophy of Sophia Perennis. This is how I learned about Sufi poetry. I know just a tiny-little bit.

Awesome! the mouse actually looks like my hamster, Lucy, i had as a child.
It's actually a Apodemus sylvaticus wood mouse that lives in most of Europes woodlands. lolol
Oh my, soooo cute! the name sounds like the mouse is a greek god lol. ;)
The Latin name is bigger than this wee mouse...hahaha
ehehehehe, and the mouse is like.. fuck! why do these humans over complicate everything, i'm just a mouse init?
Yeah we like to muck everything up...thinking if we name something we know all about it like we own it...sigh
Yeah i've wondered who the people are that come up with these long names for plants, animals, you know the really long names, or maybe language was just really long words back then i don't know. Anyway, i love your art friend.

Oooh I was initially looking forward to the story but the poem was honestly more fitting for this amazing illustration :). Thank you for taking the time to craft this all.
I may write a story later, but I have to write up a inventory list for the kids area at Scotfest this coming summer that I am setting up here in Tulsa. I needed to shake off the numbers in my head and a poem came out instead of a story!

I just love this little guy. I also like that you chose Yarrow and also that you labeled it properly. I love yarrow, it always makes me think of late Summer and early Autumn. It grows wild here as well as I have some I grow on purpose. Lovely shades of burgandy and golds. Again, so CUTE!
