The shootings of the 12 year olds is tragic and everything, but the point here is the ridiculousness that K-9 lives are as important as human lives... 40 years! That is insane! If one ever unjustly attacks me I'm gonna torture the fuck out of it before I off it. Earn those 40yrs lol.
Lots of laws are ridiculous, but if we agree to live in society by a set of laws, then we abide by them. If we don't like the laws we work to change them. If that is not acceptable to someone then they have no place in society
That's why I said 'unjustly.' A citizen can use physical force to resist an unlawful arrest, even deadly force. BUT, I doubt that defense would EVER work under any circumstances lol, thus I also mentioned doing 45 years.
Any honest cop will tell you to resist an unlawful arrest. Yes there are bad cops. Yes sometimes resisting an unlawful arrest goest badly. It's a civic duty to hold police accountable for abuse. It's ALSO a civic duty to not demonize them when their actions, while unfortunate, were reasonable and appropriate in the moment they were taken. He Tamir's weapon been real it would have never made the news. Had the round meant for Donald hit its mark squarely that case wouldn't have made the news either. Both hyped up because it's a chance to stir the pot.
Yeah I know I have LE family lol. I wasn't arguing that either of those shootings were intentional evil acts. I was just pointing out how crazy the K-9 laws are nuts and that people can legally resist if they ever run into one of those 'evil, racist, murderous' cops that supposedly roam the streets everywhere looking for kills.
We are in total agreement. I have a business that trains dogs for police and military and have personally bred, trained, and placed dogs with police handlers. I have a special affinity for dogs, but I can still put that aside and unbiasedly and objectively apply the law (and logic and reality) to the situation and rip apart a poor argument like the bullshit in this article
The fact that it was a 12 year old is irrelevant and just an play on emotions. If it was an accident and also not due to negligence then no, no criminal act has occurred. I'm sure civil suits will follow in both cases but that's different.
However, if you shoot a police k9, in the eyes of the law it is effectively shooting a police human. He is quite lucky to be alive to be honest
Tamar rice modified his air soft pistol to appear real (removing the fluorescent tip) and pointed it at people. Tell me how much balls you have when someone points a firearm at you. You gonna take a shot just to be sure it's a real firearm?? A .45APC is just as lethal shot by a 12 year old as it is by a 40 year old
Full disclosure, I'm not a cop, never have been, never would be. Shitty job. I do have an issue with bullshit arguments and outright ignorance

Typo: 45yrs!?
We both know he won't serve anything approaching that
Way to tug on heartstrings and but you distort the facts and miss the point...
The two 12 year olds were unfortunate accidents, not purposeful action.

If you accidentally shoot police and also not due to negligence, it's not a criminal act.
Clearly @matrixdweller doesn't have a grasp of the law
Btw the settlement for money is a civil suit, not the result of a criminal trial. Learn the law you stupid ignorant fuck.
Flag this one too

Flagging? Really dude?
Because the intended target who was grazed presented a rifle and was a clear and present mortal danger. That's why
Instead of flagging me like cowards, present an intelligent and valid counter argument.
Give it your best shot. I'll admit if I'm wrong in my analysis... IF you can convince me so
This is how adults converse...
