@hiveatchers this ok right? I mean it is supporting a good hive project?
It's not just supporting a hive project, it is supporting a nonprofit project that aims to bring traffic to hive. If you're comparing posh to gifu that you've created with unknown token distribution and throwing votes to whoever delegates you're way out on a limb here.
Ye POSH is awesome hence we made you some gifs!
I am not comparing though just trying to establish that @hivewatchers just make up there own rules...it is even ok to vote on these kind of posts or it is not? we like to support lots of projects and this is one small way to do it.
Using votes to "support" projects with automated posts is generally not okay, I've gone out of my way to make sure POSH is non-profit, even created the liquidation account @nomnomnomnom as to not take a fee because @reward.app does (1%). Unless there's similar projects that not only are they non-profit but support hive as a whole, like posh allows registering of link-shares from most of the big front-ends that people generally use and quite literally is meant to bring in traffic and consumers to our posts that are generally overrewarded since inflation has to go somewhere. You can't be like "I'm gonna vote this because I wanna support this no-effort automated post because I wanna support project" if there's only a set amount of people that benefit from a specific token or get curated only if they delegate your way, etc, it has to be something that benefits stakeholders as a whole of our main layer 1 token since that's the funding/inflation you are driving towards them.
POSH is still small and growing, eventually I'd love if it would cease these funding mechanism and just did a proposal but for now I believe the pros outweigh the cons of taking rewards from the author reward pool, if people disagree they can downvote the posts. Personally I don't know many other projects that work the same way so voting such posts would not be okay in my book and that's why I usually get a bit disappointed when people point at posh and go "well they're doing it too", I don't want it to be used as an example to do things the community would find unacceptable use of votes the way some have been doing with all these delegate4vote selfvoting schemes or buy our token 4 votes voteselling schemes that have increased in activity lately just cause some did it and weren't countered with downvotes by the community.
Its a minefield out there on Hive.....good luck with the proposal as POSH does a good thing for sure! I just don't like HW bullying people. You have enough stake not to have to worry about that. However it happens a lot and a lot of small players leave Hive because of it, undoing the good work you are doing with things like POSH.
Okay but that's why I asked what you're comparing it to so I can judge the situation myself, if you're just looking to vote automated posts saying something like "these amount of tokens went to these people today" then that's not really something that benefits hive as a whole as I tried to explain so the hive reward pool should be left out of it.
I'm not a fan of some of the ways hivewatchers operate either, and at times I get very frustrated by how they deal with newcomers/regular users who may do a mistake here and there, but often they are also right to act else I doubt they'd continue to get funded.
Well they bully small users and are not very reasonable and are very inconsistent. I have no problem with how people decide to vote or where, it is there stake. I am all for no plagiarism and stuff but making judgements based on the "how you value a project" or "is it good" whether it is ok to vote it or not...well that is a very fine line. Ultimately we are talking about pennies when compared to the wasted DHF money but that is a whole different story lol
Lol 2 million views just on Giphy let alone shares and tenor stats........
