Get 6 Extra Hours, Per Day!

in #sleep7 years ago (edited)

Have you imagined your life with 6 extra hours a day? Time is money, right? So more time, more money. You are maybe thinking, this is crazy, but you'll see I'm not.

Today I'm gonna tell you a scientific method to increase your waking hours by 4 to 6 hours and still have more energy, more layout and improve the quality of your dream.

PolyPhasic Sleep

This is used by professionals like Astronauts, sailors and even military people that cannot sleep for long periods of time and, because of the danger, eventually adopted this technique.

MonoPhasic Sleep is what we are accustomed to doing, and that is to sleep only one time a day, within a 24-Hour day.

PolyPhasic Sleep is when sleep is divided into small periods, sleeping about 20-30 minutes several times a day.

This technique is polémic

You need to understand that some specialists accept this technique and others reject it because of the Biological cycles, and how they are related to a good night sleep.

We as human body react to 3 cycles:

  • [ ] Circadian Cycle
  • [ ] Infradian Cycle
    and
  • [ ] Ultradian Cycle

Understanding this 3 cycles is why some specialists don't support this technique.

Circadian Cycle - this cycle is your "24-Hours system", it controls your sleeping, for example.

Infradian Cycle - this cycle is your "30-days system", like for example, the female period.

Ultradian Cycle - this is your "less than one-second system", it controls your heartbeat, respiration, and even your eye-blink.

Why is this a polemic technique?

This technique changes all the 3 cycles above and that's why some specialists don't support it.

5 types of sleep

1. Monophasic Sleep

2. BiPhasic Sleep

Is divided into two periods of sleep a day, one of them is longer than the other. With this technique, you don't really get much more time. You sleep 6 Hours on the longer sleep and 2 Hours on the shorter sleep. This is the first step to PolyPhasic sleep.

3. EveryMan Sleep

By this point, you start to gain extra time in your day. With this type, you sleep for 4 Hours during the long period and 20min the other 3 periods.

4. Dymaxion

By this point, you already cut your sleeping time by half. This type you only sleep for 4 hours divided equally by 4 times of the day.

5. Uberman

This is the ultimate stage, very few people can hold this type of sleeping for too long. With this type, you only sleep 20min x 6 times = 2 hours per day. This is the OMG stage XD

Important

It's very important to start at stage one and try to move up when you feel comfortable with.
Is important to emphasize that all who tried this technique has gone through a period of adaptation which lasts on average 14 days.

Many people say that during this period it's really hard and many give up on this phase.

This is not something you want to play with.
This is a serious technique and I recommend medical monitoring during this time.
It's not necessary to reach the last stage, but if you're gonna start, start on the first one.

YES, It's possible to gain extra 3 months a year!

Take care guys,
BlueDemon.

Holy!
Great post, something I didn't know about... so I learned something today which is great!
Here, take my full 100% upvote :D
Cheers

wow.. thanks =) I'm very glad you liked it =)

I have to say I will check this! I usually sleep 11h to be "fully charged" but can go to only 8, less than that I spend my day very sleepy. I don't know if I could manage to get to the last stage, I do value my sleep a lot, and I really enjoy it :p But I will certainly give the first stage a shot, especially when I have the trouble times with too much work! Good post ;)

Regards!

I usually sleep 10+ hours so kinda that's why I did this post because I could use more hours to study and even make more money xD But yeah I could give it a try as well x) thank you

same as me hehehe

Have you tried this, @bluedemon? I spent a few weeks in biphasic sleep. I accidentally fell in it due to some disorders (I'm a night owl but got woken up at the wrong time twice in a row and that's all it took to switch me). But that's as far as I've gotten with this.

I haven't tried this technique.. i think i will though.. i could use more hours in my life while i'm young because as i'm getting older we cannot go back to spend the past time.. =)

I think there are plenty of secondary effects and trying to sustain you might harm you in many ways. Read more about it at least. But to each their own; I wish you good luck. :)

This was very interesting. Does it affect the body in a positive way? I'd like to read more about it. I always thought that sleep was when the body did its major repairs and housekeeping.

According to the charts, I have been an uberman 3 times in my life, when my kids were young babies :S

I'm on about 5-6 hours sleep per day. Can't sleep of a day because... coffee.

Cheers

Thanks, @anjkara. I have to congratz you because the Uberman technique is the most advanced stage of this type of sleeping. But if you are sleeping 5-6 Hours a day you are fine though =D I wish i could sleep only 5-6 Hours a day and still being nice during the day. =/

lol, I didn't do the uberman by choice. Those babies really messed with my sleep in the early days :D

I used to sleep about 8 hours until I went on the keto diet. After that, I don't seem to need as much sleep. No idea how that works :D

Thanks for getting back to me

I guess babies are the best motivators for polyphasic sleeping xD ehehe

I usually sleep very little every day because my brain simply doesn't shut down at the typical night-time... I think I am just an owl. :'D

That's great =) I wish i could be able to sleep less but i'm not, unfortunately, =/ but let me ask, do you drink too much coffee during the day? I have to... otherwise i may fall asleep during the day xD

Hehe, I only consume tea and water :3 I do not like the taste of coffee sadly. Sadly because I really loooove the smell of it :D
