Four days ago, I told my SmartCash Story. I also resteemed this post about the SmartCash Venezuelan Food Distribution, a community supported project to help people in Venezuela.
Now, it's possible I'm in full FOMO mode. It's possible I could lose my investment and get embarressed later for investing in a project which might just fade away like so many hundreds of other cryptocurrencies.
From the looks of things, I've essentially bought right at the top of the market.
I bought more after my first post because many times others take information I collect, make trading decisions on it, and profit nicely while I miss out a bit for being too conservative. I figured, this time, why not put some real money into it? If I lose out, at least I'll have no regrets about not acting decisively on my instincts.
I was thinking about how @msg768 started my journey with a tip from his bot, and I thought I'd go ahead and send out some tips as well. I've received quite a few tips from the Slack channel for posting my story, and the main Twitter account tweeted it out as well:
That got me thinking, if I give out some tips for useful comments could others get interested enough to check it out also? So I transferred some of my Slack tips to my Steemit tip address, and I'd like to share some with you.

Are you into penny stocks? I mean I don't blame you lol was just curious as most of the cryptos you have bought into have been about $0.10 or less.

Oh, I've bought into dozens and dozens of cryptocurrencies, not just small ones. It's the small ones (if the project is legitimate) which have the biggest upside though. And no, I've never been into penny stocks (or stocks in general, actually). We just have traditional mutual funds on that side of the financial world.

Obviously, it might crash sometime, but I think the coin is well-supported by a nice team, and has good tech/principles behind it.

My understanding is the idea that everything should be decentralized. So instead of a core team making all the decisions, different hives are working (and being rewarded) for independent work.

My first buy order didn't make it, since .0000500 BTC was the last sale price and it just went up and hasn't stopped since. I transferred steem to bitshares, got BTC and LTC (to experiment with fees and transfer times) sent both to Cryptopia and have been buying smartcoin with it. It provided a great learning experience for me and I wanted to get the 1000 minimum smartcash for those dividends. You're not crazy, at least in this, hahaha.
Luke, do you know if they pay those dividends to their webwallet users as well?
And just curious, where have you been buying your smartcash? It's been a different experience at Cryptopia since I got used to Bitshares being my first exchange, but it's mostly minor differences.

Cool! I hope it works out for you (and me). That's always great to hear when someone is learning more about cryptocurrency and getting comfortable controlling their own funds and moving things around.
Yes, the webwallet does support the smartrewards. The key is you can't spend anything out of an address during the time period for rewards for it to count. That means it has to sit there from the 25th of one month to the 25th of another month. You can add more, but you will only get rewards on the amount that didn't move for that period (as far as I know). That means you have until the 25th to get over 1000 right now. Then, on the 25th of next month, assuming you don't spend from that address, you'll be eligible for a reward.
Cryptopia is the only real place to buy right now, based on volume. All exchange interfaces are a little different, but once you use enough of them, it becomes pretty easy to notice the similarities.

Yeah, no planning on spending here. Anything that goes into my SteemPower stays, my first BTC purchase I blogged about will stay BTC. I'm HODLing any Smartcash I buy on exchanges as well. I've been using my SBD rewards here to learn all about making transactions and interacting with the blockchain. My next purchase of crypto with USD will go into SteemPower and BTS, then I'll HODL that too.
Gotta say, it's been really fun learning the exchanges. Thanks for the Smart tip! I received a couple different coins as tips in the Cryptopia chat, then quickly bought Smartcash with that too.
Oh, and for anyone that's interested: transferring my BTC between exchanges took a while to confirm on the blockchain, so it was a lot of waiting while the price of Smartcash continued to go up. The LTC was available much quicker to use, but the volume actually moving LTC->SMART is really low, so you aren't as likely to make a good transaction. I ended up selling the LTC for BTC on the exchange there to actually make a successful purchase of Smartcash.
That's a good strategy when the unconfirmed transactions count is high. It's not bad right now (around 3k), but I saw it up above 90k the other day when I wrote this post: "Child Pays for Parent" on Electrum with Ledger Nano S.

It's a bummer that the Cryptopia wallet is down at the moment. A number of people are concerned about getting their SmartCash locked into an address in the next 4 hours for SmartRewards next month.

@lukestokes I've looked through posts about @smartbot and haven't figured this out yet: what exactly is the deposit address the bot gives you? If you're tipped on Steemit is a wallet setup for you? Is it a wallet managed by the smartbot that you interact with only through Steemit? I just got curious about this when I was about to transfer the tip you gave me to my Smartcash wallet.
A "wallet" is really just a way to manage public and private key addresses and handle the signing/broadcasting to the network. So yeah, it does seem like new addresses are created for everyone who uses the bot. I was introduced to SmartCash from @decentralizd and have been hooked on it ever since! I need to get some more of it! I love how the holders of get rewarded if they have over 1000 coins at an address with no buys/sells with that address! The development has been extremely aggressive and continues to make improvements!

Luke, if I could be zealously polyanna for a moment here, your goal should be to acquire 1 million SmartCash and then sit on it for a good healthy amount of time, until it really spikes hard and after a great number of people have acquired or adopted the cryptocurrency. The Smart Rewards program will help your nest grow-up nice and slow as months and years go by. SmartCash is a good long term currency, because it needs time to be cultivated.
I'm just now finding out about smartcash. If you're still tipping, I'd enjoy getting one :) I'm reading through all your articles about it and based on the looks of them you're still excited about this project, especially with the masternode program about to launch.

I came here again because I am writing about how I purchased my first SMART tokens recently and I needed to link this post as my first exposure to Smart Cash. Or may be this is not the one I am looking for. The price was around $0.40 at that time. I'll look for that one.
I didn't sell, but my son did. I'm holding SMART as a long-term play, but I do think it needs a lot more adoption and volume to ever get stable. There's a lot of inflation and a lot of coins out there, so who knows what will happen. I do like that they are serious about building a payment network outside of the current system and they want to help those who need it most.
Here is a confirmation 9 months after that you weren't crazy. Even in the ultra bear market you still at 2x profit of initial BTC investment, cool enough!
