Generally, I write for Steem users who are already here and often for those who are wondering why they should invest, power up or just plain stay. I wrote about Steem in my last post with the aim for it to be more outward facing and shareable as this is what I think is needed running into 2020.
@acidyo is supporting Reddit and Twitter, @theycallmedan Quora and Twitter and of course there are all kinds of users adding content across the other platforms. What needs to happen is that Steem content is getting traction on the other platforms and while I am not the type of person to create a viral meme, I think that some of my content might hit the mark for some segments of the mainstream population.
You know, I used to dislike a lot of the competitions that got run on Steem because while they are great earners, the content rarely got pushed out with Steem links to the other platforms. This has been changing of late and there are contests like the ones @anomadsoul is running powered by @blocktrades that leverage the #PoSh (Proof of Share) rules to make sure entries go out wider than the Steem ecosystem. I haven't been great at this in the past, but I am trying to up my centralized media game and start using it again to support Steem.
Soon after I joined here, I completely stopped posting on the other SoMe platforms even though I had been very active earlier. The reason wasn't that I didn't earn for my content on them, it was because on Steem I felt that the depth of engagement was better, even though the numbers of users were much lower. What I liked was after putting up a piece of work that I put thought into, people responded with thoughtful replies without the animosity that similar content might get on a mainstream platform.
The problem with the other platforms is that they are already monetized except that the user doesn't take a cut. However, people do keep score and the score is generally made by creating drama, point scoring by cutting others down as there is very little personal status gain from lifting people up. Online, people support people who think like them in the worse way possible, and the most rewarded in the social scoring system are those who attack others.
The reason why polarization of groups is so prevalent on the internet is because the platforms are designed to encourage anger and violence as that s what garners the most attention. And because that attention is then monetized in various ways to profit the central owners, it is in their best interest to keep the anger flowing. While this is good for gathering likes and shares throughout the network, it is not a great position for society and we as a global community are suffering from disconnection and fear of each other in ways that didn't exist earlier.
But, the ecosystem is already in place and designed to share and if we can piggyback Steem messaging on the other platforms and show that there are alternatives that not only give users immutable and wide-ranging freedom, but allow those same users to benefit financially from their activities on the blockchain and be part of the emerging tech economy, I think that slowly but surely adoption and adaption will happen.
There is a critical mass point where once there are enough active users, the ramp up hockey-sticks. If I have to share on nonsense platforms to get to that point, so be it. Hopefully with some of the largest accounts on the platform supporting off-platform activities, more and more shares will go out and thousands f little content funnels will snag users and draw them in.
There might be along way to go, or it might happen very fast with a few viral hits.

Anyway, this is some brief thoughts to cover up me accidentally double posting. I apologize for the cock up.
It's good to get out on other platforms as well because people still think it requires a phone number to create a Steemit account which just isn't the case anymore. I think a lot of people came and went during the bull run and have made up their minds and not come back.
Sharing on other platforms will get these people interested again and hopefully bring a few back to the platform. I try and share my content on different interfaces a well so ones that might not like steemit might come back for steemleo or steempeak.
I think even if all the accounts created were real (very few are), it is still a very small group. Many of those are early crypto people - and I think that hundreds of millions more are going to be created and looking for a home in the next 5 years. This is still early adopter phase.
I have a lot of hope in the applications being compelling in more ways than just earning.
For sure this is still early adoption. It's funny how many people during the last bull run where like if you don't invest now you'll miss out on the early adoption and now people are back to saying how "early" it actually is.
I guess it's just all about narrative and what you're trying to sell people. I prefer just to get pushing on and buidling on Steem and using all the skills im developing.
People need to look at the Apple price charts. This will be faster than that, but it still takes time.
This seems like a lucrative idea... 😂 Perhaps I'll try it sometime. 😉

I think in almost three years, this is my second screw up like this. I have a very unplanned post coming.
Fixed? :)
And for the Twitter feed
Good idea, what platforms are best?
I am only using twitter at this point, but I'd say look into reddit and quora too.
You pointed out something very interesting that I have actually been studying myself and it is the fact that negativity spreads faster.
It almost seems like people are excited about bad things and would prefer the clout to earning. Some people seem to like the attention and use it to peddle opinion but still barely earn anything from their content. Its so weird and thats why totally love the Posh campaign.
People seem to like drama and perhaps because they feel irrelevant or underappreciated, they like to see others in pain. The internet has brought out a lot of the worst in the psyche of humanity.
What are you doing now?you believe steemit?
Eating dinner.
I belive that Steemit is an interface.
Good bro. Good luck.😉
Thanks Bro.
Follow me bro!

The majority of the world has never heard of STEEM so unless we put out content and info to lead them here they never will. I think it's great to share good content to other platform and get more eyes onto the chain. If people see something they like then there is a good chance they will look deeper and maybe get involved themselves.
Yep and I am hoping that those who are using other platforms commonly will at least occasionally share good steem content there.
Every bit of exposure is a good thing. I started a twitter account a small while ago for sharing interesting and useful posts from STEEM which is slowly picking up some bigger and interesting followers from outside of STEEM. People who otherwise would never see what is happening on here as nobody is showing it to the rest of the world.
We need everybody to see what is getting built here so that they can get hyped as well for all the good things on STEEM but without any marketing it's going to take a community effort and little things like posting and sharing around twitter and other sites is a start.
