STEEMIT Revolution: It's NOT Communism!
Communists are going "Redder" than ever with this Crypto Craze. But get a grip people, Cryptocurrencies aren't all about people craving for Communism.
Lately, through my promotion of STEEMIT and Crypto & Blockchain technologies, I've been hearing a lot of people saying this sounds just like Communism 2.0.
This is plain wrong... I'm no Communist. I don't have a political party, but I guess you could say I'm a Capitalist, just not the kind of Capitalist we have right now.
These savage capitalists are all the things communists call them, and then some, but I believe in the free market. Problem is capitalists these days aren't about the markets, but about the aritificial creation of numbers and riches.
Having that said, here's why people think Crypto is Communism 2.0. and how it is not.
Decentralized Sounds Like Commie to Me:
One of the things that make people yell "COMMIE" is repeating the word decentralized. People hear that as "nobody owns anything", which is exactly the opposit because with decentralization, you own what you own!
In the centralized system, you "own" your bank account, but in reality... the bank owns it. And we all know how banks work.
Now, people often mix up decentralization and our hatred for the CENTRALIZED FIAT system as Communist Rage. In fact, it is not.
There are many communists who are a fan of crypto, sure, but not all fans of crypto are communists. I'm certainly not.
Every one has a different opinion, and I'm personally against communism, I think it's proven that it doesn't work.
I respect communists and I think some of them really have good reasons to support it, but I just don't see that happening, and normally people respect my view.
But if you promote taking power away from the centralized fiat system, you're suddenly as Red as Mao Tse Tung himself.
Centralized System: If you're a fan of it, here's your HOW TO Guide for Crypto!
Finally, if you are still conviced that Decentralized is more than a word and represents a good thing, well then you have centralized Cryptocurrencies.
Heck, I'm sure the current SHARKS (see the definition on any of my previous posts) are all happy you want to invest into central crypto, and I'm also sure they have their arms up to their elbows in some of those currencies' asses.
For instances, how about you invest in Ripple. I'm sure it will go high next year, and that it is going to be one of the cryptos the SHARKS will point out as being less dangerous to the herd.
I don't see why you'd want centralized cryptos though, but that is a subjective opinion.
I was very clear in that I find decentralization one of the best things of the current systems, cryptos and blockchain in general.
Global Collaborativism: Time for a New Shift in the Paradigm
You may have noticed a pattern in my posts - I always talk about the fact we are living in an age where the paradigm is shifting.
We're living in a time of adjustments, and things will get very hot soon - A storm is coming, and we must navigate it to reach the "calm" afterwards.
Having said that, you shouldn't think about Capitalism / Communism, but rather accept that the path to something else is being paved.
Maybe we'll have a new chain of thought in the order of "Global Collaborativism" or something.
We know we have the means to implement a better society model now, so why shouldn't we have the ambition to do so?
Something on RBE: What are RBEs?
Let me tell you what may be Communism 2.0 instead. I think that would be the RBE, or Resource Based Economy.
For those of you who don't know the concept behind Resource Based Economies, here's what you can do to ensure you get to know it inside out:
- Investigate The Venus Project;
- Investigate about its Solutions and Problems;
It basically aims to be an Utopian society, but I can see a lot of problems myself (even though the Venus Project does indeed sound good, there are some things that worry me.
If you're reading me and you're a Communist, don't flag me out of spite and go check this out right now. You'll thank me.
Comment Time: What's Your Political Vision and How Does It Apply to Crypto?
So, finally, I want to hear your opinion. I want to test the waters of how my audience on here thinks the future should be, what's their vision and how their own Utopia looks like.
I also would love to hear about your thoughts on the new things Crypto can bring, and finally if anyone of you has some thoughts on Centralized vs Decentralized Crypto, I'd love to hear them as well.
That's all for now.
Cheers!

nice post.
now Venus project I have seen that many years ago beside the fact that the guy (don't remember his name) is a bit freaky I just don't like futuristic clean white wall utopian bullshit, I don't think the future should look like this and if it does it's bloody boring to my taste...
I like our city streets, broken gutters, the stains on the footpaths and the street art all over the place. the rear entrance in a narrow street with the bins and the stray cats, and the squished wet newspaper against the kerb. the venus project is way to biblical and fucking perfect I like things gritty a bit dirty, noisy and wild with nice old buildings and a squat with broken tv's and steam punk barbies at the windows in the corner street next to a cheap motel where we can hear a busker enjoying his music for a few coins from the peeps passing by.
I ain't communist either, and politics are a freak show, I have only very little time for.
however It comes back to my previous comment on your other post, it's the fact that peeps jumping in crypto don't even know what they are investing their money in. ripple sound safe for a lot of people they don't care who rules they think short term investment quick $$. there is nothing we can do beside understanding and keeping a step back to the big pictures and make the right choices for ourself I won't advocate 1 coin more than another to anyone, like you said we are marching towards a shift not to make people smarter about their power but even more dependent on institutions to protect their assets, I'm thinking that one day blockchain might be putting chains on our feet if the sharks play well this turn of events.
you've never thought that what we praise today could be our enslavement of tomorrow ? I'm a 1984 kind of sheep ya know ^^
You, my friend, deserved a 100% upvote... even if that is just a little bit due to my level. However, you said it all.
I don't like gritty broken TVs, but I don't like shiny white walls either. And I am aware of the dangers as well... 2018 will be a vital year to get to know what will happen.
FUCK a Bunch of Commies, this is the Highest and Purest Form of Capitalism so far, in fact, most are calling it ANARCHO-CAPITALISM, because of the decentralized nature of it. Also, having (as I do) an Exit Strategy of Precious Metals purchases, it is the exact Polar Opposite of Communism that we will likely ever see in the history of this planet!
AMEN!
And that is why you're my bro! Once I hit $2000 per week Ill invest in metallic stuff as well.
BTW, see my steem power :)
U better start stackin' sooner than that, or get your gritty-a$$ to Blogging Harder!!! ;) lol I still think a Big Reset is in the cards, and after that PMs will be a lot more expensive to obtain! The Deep State is still not without options, and power. They have less of both, but I still fear they have some options that we really do not want to be exercised...
So i take it you don't have faith in Steemit's future?
That would be Incorrect, in fact, I think Steem might be one of the few survivors if the crypto-world suffers a huge setback due to outside factors. Did you notice when BTC went down 45% in less than a week, that Steem was only down less than 3%? And BTC recovered slightly, but Steem went back up and even a penny more. I think it is more resilient possibly.
I am simply saying you should stack before you reach the $2000/wk levels :D
Be Realistic, Max! Take some gravy for yourself during the process of ascent! ;)
Basically I am saying do not put all your hard-earned eggs in one basket, place some of them in the PM basket. That is what I am doing, in effect. You can take up to a $2500 IRA deduction every year, and actually prolly MORE, except you only can deduct $2500 from your Gross Adjusted Income. Ask your tax professional.
Yeap, taxes are a lot different here, but have to check it.
I'm not at a point in which I can stack metals yet. Need liquid fiat first - am gonna get married in 1 1/2 year.
But I'll get there.
Your SP is 40, up from 25? Nice! (I remember cuz I said it's not enough to buy a nice dinner for two...) :P
I see you are using voting services, that can be very good, but SBD is worth almost $10, SP is $3.24 at the moment, so you need to do the math and be sure that buying up-votes is actually worth it. Depending on the time the vote is cast, the value you receive on payday is likely to be less than the listed payout shown at the post itself.
I always use the internal markets to convert SBD to Steem, then power up. You get full value tha way. 1 SBD is darn near worth 3 SP today.
I only use those to get the first push to be read by others, I dont stack them or invest too much in them, it's just a way to get 1 initial vote other than mine.
If you alert me I can jump in immediately... if I get your note LOL!!!
Most vote botZ vote after 30 minutes now. I vote as soo as I see your new topic. If someone would tell me how to do it, I could set U up on a "no delay" 100% ^U^V^ auto-vote for great effect ;)
It's easy man, you could have told me earlier. https://steemvoter.com/ go here and put me on the list :)
Excellent Post. :-) Crypto equals freedom to choose, and you definitely own what you own! Decentralized Is The Way To Go!
The Sharks do not like anyone having a choice, other than the officially sanctioned choices they provide. Left, Right, Communist, Democratic... these are just labels for the Shark system of control.
I agree with you my friend.
FOLLOW, "now" ;)
Already did that last night ;-) LOL
LOL I mean I am following you now, now! :P
Thanks!
Awesome, thanks for the follow, much appreciated my friend. Have a great evening. :-)
Yeah, I was going to say this is probably the first time I've even heard Communism associated with blockchain. I guess there have been some comments about how we can offer universal basic income but that's not really the same.
And decentralization? I won't even think about any "centralized crypto". That's just asking for you to be robbed if you ever put money into it. Unless it's backed by government guarantees or something, but in that case what's the point...? Like you say.
That said, I still put some in Ripple. It's still has a level of trustlessness to it, that the network is not just dominated by a single entity (unless I missed something). I like that it can get rid of all of these middle-men between banks that need to underwrite and verify liquidity for transactions. So... yeah. I would see it more as a "permissioned blockchain". Centralized in that fewer participants have a say, but decentralized enough that one does not have to worry about it disappearing.
Will have to do some poking around resource based economies when I have more time, can't offer much of an opinion on that.
You can find a good example of communists' vision about crypto when you see in the news that Venezuelan government is about to release its own cryptocurrency, the "Petro".
Looking for a way to overcome international financial sanctions, cryptocurrencies was like music for their ears (played by well know international communist advisors), because in their vision this is a weapon to fight against the "Imperialist" US Dollar.
Obviously, this will be a centralized coin, but I think they will seed a dangerous (for them) idea in people and they could not control anymore. It will be like opening the Pandora's box.
Regards,
Interesting... Thank you for the information, will check it out. Sounds like everyone wants to try it out but I suspect they will have a very difficult time. A centralized coin is not different than their already failing Fiat... Unless I am missing something.
Agree with you. I think it has to do with lack of information, or taking decisions with incomplete info.
Truly excellent comment as always @eonwarped
RBE is what I think communism 2.0 - especially those like Venus as mentioned.
Glad to have you around.
Cheers!
I'm living in a democratic country this is why the words like Communism and Capitalism doesn't apply to me. I'm learning everyday with your posts Rukka ^^
Why don't the words apply to you? Being in a democratic country doesn't mean that.
I've always quite like the idea of living in Auroville, well since I found out about it anyway. Living for humanity sounds like a good plan to me.
I am on the right side and crypto enables me to be free of the extreme communism that is happening here in Germany.
Thanks for stopping by @valorforfreedom
and for your thoughts as well...
Cheers!
I like the way your post is arranged. Nice post.
Thanks!
