Hi, this is @allerie00 and i am a minnow but "whale" inside and i am speaking in the words of @steemsecrets.
Did you know that much of the INTEL that you will need, to attain "steemit" success, lies in "history".
Yes, many of the events on steemit today had "history" involved. So, did you visit this history or did you jump steps?
Let me tell me tell you a bit of the "past", to help you understand "the now" and to help you foresee the possible evolution in the "future". .
- There was no delegation function. So, were no delegation rentals or lease.
- There were fewer curation guilds.
- There were fewer whales.
- There fewer avenues to earn steem apart from "creating posts".
- More of the post payouts was in steem than is the case now.
- The Reward curve wasn't linear, so minnow earned and gave out way less.
- Steem was as low as 7 cents.
- Steemit had more bugs.
- There was a time when the reward pool went empty.
- Bots earned more than humans.
- Everyone was still novice or a learner when it came to steemit knowledge.
- Flags where rampant and there experiments that involved flags.
- Cheetah was hyperactive.
- There were fewer steemit communities, fewer discord help servers etc.
- There were no bid bots.
- There wasn't full-blown steemit promotion.
- There were fewer steem apps; that is; there was no dtube, dmania, busy, steepshot, dlive, dsound etc
- There were limited helpers because "helpers" were seeking help too.
- etc.....
Then, many hardforks happened to improve matters!
What is there to learn then?
People stuck around then, to see steemit succeed! "It got way better!" "You are on steem at the best of times!"
but there is more.......
if you give additional value to the "beauty" of a "steemit" that you have now, then, to that, you add the "valid valuable illusion" that, "steemit" is the same as it was in the past and pretend that you had only "you" and "your very next steemit post" as your only arsenals to succeed, "you will attain more testimonial steemit success in the long run!"

Yes its not just ideal to jump into something without knowing or know what made up the existence of such thing and such is steemit case too one need to know the past events on the platform so as to know how to attack some situations when they arrive. This will enable you as users to know that some recent happenings is not in any way a disaster but rather a regular occurance that you need not to panick about.

The history is indeed very important to be acknowledged because it is where it all started. The hard work of the people who have helped before to develop and establish the name of steemit is really appreciated for without them we wouldn't be able to experience the steemit now which is way better than any other social media platforms. I am not discrediting other means of socializing on the internet but what I am trying to say is that steemit encourages all individuals to celebrate themselves and show the realness of oneself. No one will ever bash or hate you here instead everything that is in here promotes positivity and good vibes. There may be others who still don't realize the purpose of steemit and keeps on posting unnecessary blogs but I have high hopes that they will soon change and become better in engaging through posting quality contents. :) God bless to our journey here and may the odds be ever in our favor. I couldn't agree more with you. Knowing the history of steemit is fundamental to its growth. When people become aware of where they are coming from, then the journey becomes more interesting because every one would want to leave their own indelible mark on the sands of history. What it portends is an undaunted spirit in the face of challenges.

We should understand that many of this things were not in place when steemit started and it was people that joined earlier that work on these things we are enjoying now. @steemsecrets Thank you for this valuable lesson. I did not know that it was so much harder before. I thought it is harder now since the value of steem is much higher and there are many more members which means more competition. It is not because Steemit members now have much more support than before. To put it blantly the early stages of steemit was savage compared to now. This made me realize that compared to early adaptors we have it easy now. Since we have it easy now we create the illusion that the mediocre work we do is deserving rewards which essentially makes us act like spoiled brats or sense of entitlement that we don't deserve and thus we become lazy and less creative and thus poor quality post.
Valid valuable illusion is an interesting concept in which you will not rely on your connections, affiliations, bidbots or any other tools that helps you gain more upvotes but you soley rely on yourself and the content of your next steemit post which will bring out your BEST. WOW I grasp what you are saying here and I will apply this concept this "practice" from now on. In addition now understand why some of the early adapters are a bit hard on newbies when they vote beg or when they complain about payouts. It was much harder then than now.

So steemit had to go through all of these to succeed. It was much harder then, so much harder but people like Terry stuck in there, refusing to quit even when the going was tough. That is the stock winners are made off. I will stick in there and make steemit so awesome.

We have it way much easier now and when people read this, their sense of entitlement thinking steemit owes them something bigger when they post would be reassessed. The history of a thing is always an eye opener. @surpassinggoogle is the real MVP. Totally committed to everyone's growth.
yes indeed. A lot of users now think that their every posts deserve dollars. without knowing the past makes us a little like a brat begging for upvotes which is not a good practice. We should depend on the ourselves and on our quality content tgat we are about to post. Sometimes it is not about the monetary aspects but tge knowledge tgat we share to our fellow steemians.
That is very correct and that is why i am excited about @steemsecrets. A lot of people have wrong orientation and you did amazingly well to set that straight. Quality is key. It can't be hidden. Value for value but most people just post for posting sake. The post should add value, teach me what i don't know before or remind me of what i know before so i can be very sure (reiterating).

Oh, I can relate to this. In fact, Steemit landscape has evolved a lot! It' s something that many members today doesn't know. And it's something we should explain to them. In my almost 6 months as a Steemian, I saw the progress of Steemit.
These ones are really true! But we are still here and never gave up. I am still a minnow, but I feel like a whale as @surpassinggoogle makes us feel we are.

These words are very motivational to say the least, giving up should not even be an option, I always believe things will get better here. Call it faith, call it fore-sight. And I am so happy I stayed. Some of my colleagues left, at the earliest stage when they discovered they were earning a few cents but trying now to get back and start from the scratch. They have regrets for leaving in the first place.
Oh, yeah! I remember before when I had cents or even zero. But I did not let it stop me. Why? There's something within me that says go on. Now, I am teaching tons of members about Steemit. I used to be posting and upvoting before, but I am trying to help members who needs help. Again, I am still a minnow, but I feel like a whale.

I wish I had experienced what you've experienced before but since we can't have a time machine, this 5th secret revealed helps a lot of people to understand history and to be thankful for we are in the steem at the best time but we should also consider to depend on ourselves and on the information that we are about to post. 6 months might sound long, but I still have lots to learn, and still lots to share. Motivating other people is not easy when you yourself needs motivation as well. I have been through different phase which is even harder than newer members do face at the moment. I recently wrote about exploring Steemit and don't dwell on the knowledge you have now. Acquiring knowledge is never-ending. The same case here on Steemit.
I am glad the 5th secret was revealed so people will learn and know the history of Steemit. In fact, I have been telling newer members who are almost giving up to keep Steeming. I kept telling them what it's like being a Steemian before and being a Steemian now. There's huge difference. By this, thanks to @steemsecrets for this finally revealed which supports our claim so newer members won't stick to being demotivated.

Indeed both of you are whales.
A lot of the people I am building communities does recall those times when Steemit was hard and it looked like it might not work.
People were still struggling to find the way and there was not a lot of help yet because it was new and people have not really grasped what Steemit could do.
People left, people powered down and yet some people stayed because they believe in the platform.
From that belief came innovation and the likes of dtube, Zappl, utopian, dmania, chainBB and teh rest were born. It was a new frontier for the Steem blockchain but people made their journey.
Then the groups and communities formed as teh saw that is what makes Steemit special. It is when we extend a helping hand to others and share our strength then we help other people and ourselves.
Steem is a gifteconomy and once people realized that then talents were unboxed, stories told, tears of sadness and joys were means to create deep meaningful relationships with people..
Steem was humanized and became what it is today. The history is good to know but we will keep Steeming on and sharing ourselves and be the difference.

I like that word "Humanized". Because steemit has become a platform with a human face and this just what I needed, a platform that cares, a platform that feels and a platform where you are like home. I tell you it's a wonderful feeling, this humanized platform and I owe @surpassinggoogle so much for making it so.

No puedo decir con certeza si en los comienzos de steemit era más fácil crecer aunque quizás sí, actualmente al haber demasiados usuarios y con el uso de bots que ponen en trading cierto contenido, se puede observar que gran cantidad de publicaciones se quedan sin poder ser vistas, casi que en el olvido. This is so deep and beautiful. Steemit is indeed a beautiful place and it is only people who are intense that can succeed here, people who are dogged, rugged and out on a mission to make a difference. Even when I was earning a few cents, I just had this 'thing' deep down that this was my path to freedom, so sticking around does pay off at the end of the day. So we keep sticking around, no matter what it is like here,

I agree with the idea that giving up is never an option. Even I have experienced receiving cents from my blog posts but i always remind myself that it is not the reason why i came here. Sometimes we take for granted what we have today because we don't even understand the past. Yes and glad to know that people are now aware a bit about the past. Indeed a lot of people are taking advantage in this platfrom. They think their every single post deserves dollars yet they didn't oud effort to it, not even a quality post then ranting about earning cents. They are those who do not know yet what this platform and the old steemians went through. Hoping this could reach them and enlighten their minds that sometimes it not always about the minetary aspects but the knowledge we share and earn.

That is just the beginning of steemit "much of the Intel we need to attain steemit success is in "history". I heard of steemit from a steemian who is also a newbie, we both started with our little knowledge. He was quite older than me on steemit but he could not give me much tutorial on the platform. He even didn't know about the 50/50, 100% payout function. But at like he didn't decline payout. Even up-till date some of the function like power up and powering down is yet to come to my full reason. I just couldn't imagine was steemit would had been way back when some whales we're then newbies?? Most of my stay on steemit are been encouraged by these whale helps. God bless them. Steemit history is one to imagine!!!!!
I too have struggled first and i didnt know about the payout process.. i think one of the keys to success here is to be observant and to help oneself to get to know more of the system here in steemit. I am blessed enough to have kind and friendly people who have helped me in my journey here. I thank @kneelyrac and my @steemitachievers team for the never ending support and guidance. I couldn’t imagine myself if i havent met this people. :)

Well, I believe every great steemian here at this moment never had a easy pull through their journey around here. A lot of minnows like myself complain about getting valuable upvotes but trust me, it is only a matter of time and it always just gets better. @steemsecrets I say a very big thank you for your impart over we minnows, although I was never part of steemit when steem and SBD were penny but i heard the history.
On the other hand, every minnow will always find it hard and difficult at first, but through many discord server and various telegram group, there is more than just blogging because virtually I make new friends on those platform courtesy of Steemit.
Aside from posting blogs and sharing one's life and interests, steemit also is an avenue for us to meet awesome people with awesome talents and experiences. I am amazed as to how honest and pure the people and friends I have made here. They are very supportive and helpful when it comes to my endeavors in this platform. Hi @allerie00, thank you for giving us a Steemit History lesson! In a short span of time, there have been several improvements from what it was before. This is a great encouragement for us newbies who are struggling. It was even harder before - I couldn't imagine fewer curation guilds, few whales and lot of flags!
Those who stuck around have grown a lot now. So I will stick around because I'm sure that Steemit is just going up and improving. And I also have even more admiration to those who stayed through history :)

This is very true, its not the time to stop.. Those men did not give up then and now majority of them are whales now. So I am a whale inside and a prospective whale outside if I can only keep adding my own color to steemit and never give up.
