SteemWorld News ~ Coming Curation Rewards, Improved Payout Details (+ Beneficiaries Payout) implemented

in #steemworld7 years ago

Do you like SteemWorld and want to support my work with a vote? Here is your chance!

Since I want to use the available time mainly for improving my tools and for working on the coming features, I will keep it short and just show you a few preview images of my recent development here.

Coming Curation Rewards

Improved Coming Author Rewards

Rewards Overview in Recent Posts

Pending Payout

Past Payout

For the old/inactive posts I needed to calculate the payout a bit differently, because the total payout does not include the beneficiary rewards. As far as I know, we currently can't see the correct total payout for posts with beneficiaries on Steemit. I think it should at least be shown in the payout details:

That is why I come to different payout totals for the same post:

The totals may not always be 100% accurate but I will do my best to find the missing part for my formula in the Steem source code. I guess the field 'curator_payout_value' in the nodes request result also does not contain the portion of the beneficiary rewards.

Pro Tip

This is the vote button on Steemit:

This is how the button looks like when you have voted for a post:

chiller_mode off

Some people are commenting on posts without leaving a vote and some of them are even upvoting their own comment instead. Do I really need to implement a feature on SteemWorld that will tell me who is behaving like a brain-dead moron? I think so.

chiller_mode on

I could add something like this:

:-) Okay, let's call it 'has voted post' instead, but I think it would really make sense to add something similar...

SteemWorld is not making use of SteemSQL!

I don't know why @arcange is telling people that the data on SteemWorld comes from his service but I want to make clear that this has never been and will never be the case. I have built my own database as I mentioned in my earlier posts.

Lieber Chiller,

Bin gespannt, was du meinst.

Lieben Gruß, @double-u

Vielen Dank @double-u!

Ich werde eigentlich nur "Not voted by me" benötigen.

Not voted by me" enthalten wären.

LG, Chiller

Guten Morgen, lieber Chiller! (8 Stunden später)

Vielen vielen Dank!

Edit:

Lieber Chiller, was ist dir lieber?

Jo!

great work to improve the application

Hi @steemchiller
Great work in the curation rewards.

Is it possible to add some form of analysis so we can monitor how well we have done in curating? Maybe showing a percentage or multiple of how much of our original vote we got back?

Thanks
@kabir88

Once again thank you for the great work you are doing - besides steemit itself, steemworld.org is definitely the tool around STEEM that I use most!
Keep up the good work and forget the idiots who just comment your post to get visibility/upovtes and don't upvote it. They are not worth even your thoughts ;)

the moron-feature made me laugh so hard :-) great! @steemchiller to the moon!

A good laugh a day keeps the doctor away... ^^

Awesome updates and new features @steemchiller! SteemWorld is absolutely the best and most useful Steem information utility in the Steemit ecosystem, and as you keep adding new features, other apps become less and less relevant.

Shame that STINC isn't giving you more backing/promotion/delegation or something because your work really adds a great layer of usability to the community. Thanks, and keep it up!

Some people are commenting on posts without leaving a vote and some of them are even upvoting their own comment instead. Do I really need to implement a feature on SteemWorld that will tell me who is behaving like a brain-dead moron? I think so.

I guess it can be reasonable some times if you e.g. have a intense discussion in the comment section, and you can only comfortably vote with 100% because of Steemit. Also most of the time both the votes and the comment are pretty similar, so it is easy to see if the commenter also upvoted :D
Sincerely
Schwein
PS: I have voted on your Post ;P

I use Steemworld daily several times. Today I noticed a peculiar thing which I never found. Today early hours my reputation was 51.996 after some activities my reputation has gone up to 52. But in Steemworld it is showing 61.000. Here with I am providing the screen shots of both steem and steemworld. Can you please check the problem?

I'm using the formula from the official Steem JS Library. After some debugging I've found the cause for this:

Your exact reputation is '1000995952600'. The 4 leading digits that are being used for further calculation are in your case '1000'. The result for Math.log(leadingDigits) / Math.log(10) is < 3.0, but it should be >= 3.0 in this case.

I will report the bug on GitHub after I've fixed it on SteemWorld ;)
Thanks for your report!

problem fixed. thank you for your immediate action

Do I like steemworld, no, I frikkin love it!!!
It gives us all of the information that steemit should give us in the first place. In my opinion, it should be you who should probably be doing the designing and programming for steemit. Or maybe at least you should be the one putting your foot up their asses so that something gets done around here. ☺ I mean for shits sake, we're still in beta with Steemit? Get the f* out of here. Not only do you already offer more than they do, but at least you actually work on and improve yours on a regular basis! I hope you have a wonderful day good sir, and an even better week.

Love all the tweeks, and fingers crossed you're right about the market. Thanks so much for all your hard work! Since my upvote is essentially dust, I figure I'll also leave you a - tip!

thanks a lot to all that you do!

"Moron".

Oh man. Gave me a belly laugh! Thanks for everything chiller, you're work is invaluable and your humor is appreciated.

servus!

grossartige arbeit!

weiter so!

LG

@meins0815

@barmbo

:-)

Being a numbers guy, I'm in heaven! haha

  • Thank you so much @steemchiller!
    • Just this month I started tracking my Steemit financials using a spreadsheet. Now that you have added curation rewards, I don't have to open another tab using another site.
      • If I could find out where to vote, I would vote you the grand wizard of all Steemit application programmers!

Our steemworld keeps getting better. Thank you for your dedication to our platform, @steemchiller

I'm sure you're not serious about the moron feature.. Just to remark though, it isn't an entirely bad ideato present the information, and leave the inferences about why a vote was withheld up to the viewer of the data.

If one disagrees with the post, or ones VP is still low, or one waits for interaction from the content creator before voting - these are reasonable practices, are they not? If he also upvotes his comment, it may be he wants to bring the comment out of a morasse of spammy comments. One just never knows, until a situation is examined. Of course, maybe 7 out of ten are moronic.

I have something to ask about the interface:

  • in the follows pane, would it be possible to see rep score, SP, account value, and interaction index (that one you had a while ago), most recent post, tags used in recent posts! Stuff that can give a user an indication of the urgency to follow up and investigate an account.
  • I sometimes have issues with entering the key - it would be nice if the switch account button where a login sort of affair, so I would know my world is live so to speak.

thank you once again as always!

Thanks for your thoughts on this! I also think that the moron feature isn't an entirely bad idea, but as you said, there can be many reasons for not directly voting a post.

It is currently not possible to show user details in the followers section, because it would increase the loading time drastically especially for users with thousands of followers, but I'm thinking about adding a button that will show this kind of information in a popup or so.

it would be nice if the switch account button where a login sort of affair, so I would know my world is live so to speak.

What exactly do you mean with a login sort of affair? Something like using SteemConnect to store tokens for the private keys in cache?

Hello, my good friend - you're so dedicated to you work. The more I consider it, I think it's unnecessary to add either of those two things. I usually right click the account link and go look carefully at everything like user engagement, post quality and so on. A pop-up would be a nice thing but maybe asking too much.

When I want to follow someone back from the new followers pane, I can do that after I enter a post key. I guess I was wondering if that could be done once at the 'switch account' button.

Actually, I can't imagine how SteemWorld can get any better but I am sure you will think of something. Thanks so much.

I love SteemWorld! For sure love supporting with a vote.

I like the new updates. I am not totally certain how curation works but it's interesting to see other numbers besides the 75% that I was expecting for author.

I'm really starting to enjoy SteemWorld. I find it fun to see how much people pay the bots without recognizing a gain.

Here's an example

If you wanted to add one calculation, "Estimated Gain ($USD)".

I think it would be fun to see the estimated gain of a post when you take the "Payout Author", then subtract the "Transfer Amount". Then multiply by exchange rates (SBD/USD and STEEM/USD) and show how much the author gains or loses.

I've been watching many of the trending posts and many end up as a loss for the poster.

Steemworld is a great tool! Than you for creating it

Upvoted!

It is a detailed preview of the pending payments! It is really very helpful to keep a track of our upcoming rewards. Thank you for these features!
I saw, you also fixed the smartsteem issue, the one which was for the buying upvotes. But I noticed the transfer amount goes to 0.00 sometimes. Why is that so?
The moron feature would be a great thing to identify the nature of people!
You have to also put the profile picture somewhere into the voting power!!

Thank you!

But I noticed the transfer amount goes to 0.00 sometimes. Why is that so?

The feature only works for active/not too old posts, may be that was the reason. If you should see it again and it's an active post, please tell me and I will take a look into it ;)

Yeah I noticed that for the active posts. Currently it is showing correctly. I will update you when this goes to zero.

I use Steemworld more than any other service, so thanks for creating and maintaining this useful app for us. While the part about the moron feature made me laugh, I can see why somebody might comment without liking a post. I certainly liked THIS post, but sometimes, I don't like the post but want to comment.

Very true!

And I have to thank you again for this wonderful service. Watching how much curation I get for a vote is another wonderful activity I can do at work which supports my procrastination xD

You are kickin ass with the updates!

It looks like the author rewards broke again. It is missing my posts that will payout today. Only showing ones tomorrow on.

This is what I see for your account:

It seems to be timezone related. I'm calculating the UTC time from your local time. Can you please go to http://www.timebie.com/std/utc.php and tell me the values for Universal Time and CEST in the top right corner?

Thanks in advance!

I am using a VPN so could that be causing the problem?
Capture.JPG

Yes, that could be the reason. If the Pacific Daylight Time 6:09:54 AM is not your real local time, the operations may have been filtered out because there is a big difference to the UTC time. But of course it should also work for these cases and I guess I need to change my filter routine...

Thanks for your report! I will test it with VPN and fix it in the coming days ;)

As a note I live in Pacific timezone and use a VPN in same timezone 95% of the time.

And seriously THANK YOU for being so responsive to bugs! You are one of the best devs around here!

Can you please refresh the page and tell me if the coming rewards are showing your post that is due in 20 minutes?

Thanks!

Yes they are! Today now shows everything.

THANK YOU!

Weiter so.!!!

i have been used it so many times in a day, and i know how much hard work behind it. a very warm well come wish for your new feature and i always maintain my account with your application, here is a big thanks for you.

Are you also a witness?
Vielen Dank fuer Steemworld!

Thank you! No, I'm not a witness ;)

@steemchiller Your blog is just 7 days old, so it is a little too late for me to give it an upvote, but I am giving you a big upvote on the above comment instead. I use steemworld every day, and I would happily pay a small subscription fee to continue using it. Instead, I will regularly remember to give you a maximum upvote.

There is one small part of steemworld that I do not understand. It’s when I look at the info on a vote which was made. Please have a look at the two examples below:

8B9051A3-6DDC-46BF-85B4-9F03683AF4ED.jpeg

D6A71C30-B207-47D3-AC4A-56313C8AC01A.jpeg

I understand most of the numbers shown in the example above. However, what is the meaning of the number circled in red?

Am I correct in thinking the vote is worth 50% in SBD and 50% in steem?

Logically I am expecting the amount to be the current (at the time of the vote) value in USD. However, I can’t make the maths work. For example, in the vote which I just gave you $5.32 should equal USD 11.97, - at least according to what is displayed.

Based on the present “external” prices, my maths would be as follows:
$2.66 in SBD worth USD 2.91 each = USD7.74 + $2.66 in steem makes a total of $10.40. So where does the USD 11.97 come from? The second example, of a vote by pi500 shows an even more extreme result.

Incidentally, I think your external price of SBD may come from coinmarketcap, whose price is distorted due to the HitBTC exchange which is showing a price of $14.98 per SBD. The REAL SBD price on Bittrex is about $1.75. (The maths does not work with that price either).

Hopefully you can clarify how the USD number is calculated and what it represents?

Thanks for your vote and your bug report! The USD amount for the single vote is indeed not correct. It looks like I've over-optimized the rewards calculation a bit in my recent code clean-up. I will fix it soon ;)

Now they are going completely crazy on HitBTC:

You are doing a lot of work for the Steem blockchain user. If you decide to become one, I am sure you will get a lot of votes!

As always, thank you so much for providing this awesome tool. I really couldn't live without it :) I love the curation and author rewards section too! You rock buddy ;)

Thank you @lynncoyle1! As always, I love reading your kind words in my post ;) Have a nice weekend!

Thank you @steemchiller! Have a nice weekend as well :)

this is the best tool ever. I use it all the time. Sorry I missed this post to upvote

Upvoting comments and not upvoting the post, for a minute i taught i was the only one who disliked that. And btw i can't wait for the big money to start flooding in💕💕💕

My favourite tool I use all the time. Curation rewards is freaking awesome feature. If you ever will need help with responsive version of steemworld I can help you with that. Thank you for your work!

In my opinion, SteemWorld.org is the best and most complete feature. Similarly, other Stemian recognition in Indonesia.

I Love SteemWorld.org

Thank u @steemchiller

Hi @steemchiller, thanks again for SteemWorld. I have a (hopefully) small feature request.

As someone who mostly powers up, it would be nice to be able to switch the currency view to STEEM. What I mean is, instead of converting rewards to their USD or EUR equivalent, you could look at the price of the internal market and convert all liquid rewards to STEEM at that price.

I am already doing this by hand (or usually just mentally estimating), but it'd be nice to actually see it in the interface.

Thanks! I like the idea and I'm going to implement it in the coming days ;)

Edit:

As it was not much work to add this feature, I've done it today and 'STEEM' can now be chosen in settings:

I'm using the internal median price for calculation.

Wow! That's an incredibly fast turnaround! Thanks man; I'm enjoying it more already!

Got to know about steem world not to long ago and I’m loving it. Thanks for the good work. You should chill more @steemchiller

Hey @steemchiller,

Hey. SteemWorld is my main Steem info site so i wanted to ask... Do you think you will be able to add to SteemWorld an adjusted payout option for beneficiary rewards, or is that already there?

I don't exactly know what you mean but I guess that you want to set beneficiaries for a post? You know when you use for example DTube then 25% of your payout will go to them and there is no way to change the beneficiaries once they have been set.

I hope that it will soon be possible to define the beneficiaries directly on Steemit but not sure when/if this will be added. I could add a feature on SteemWorld to define them for a new post but it would not make much sense because they can only be set directly in the process of creating a post.

As soon as a new post has received a vote it is no longer possible. Maybe in future there will be a post editor on SteemWorld too. Then I would definitely add the possibility there.

Aha. My question was concerning the "coming author rewards".. Basically if it could be done to just calculate the author part, filtering out the beneficiaries and the curation showing only the author part of it.
That would be a cool addition.

Ok, now I got it. Yes, that would really make sense. I will see what I can do ;)

I dont know to say in german, but i thank you very much for https://steemworld.org/

Today someone from discord told me about it and about you. Your website helps me alot. All the best mister!

Great discussion about upcoming curation rewards... @steemchiller
Day by day steemworld increase their facilities for steemians.. Rocking #steemworld...

I have started using your tools on https://steemworld.org/ few days ago and now I use them on daily basis. To support you, I am happy to resteem this post for you! Looking further to further improvements!

Day by day its updated with new feature and i am a big fan of steemworld, have a great day.

Really it’s a great work ....Steemworld is updated and becoming smart .. I love steemworld...

The right work needs to be rebuilt, toward a more advanced future, for the highest success in the rest of the world, keep the spirit and friend.

Very clear! Thanks!
Like the word "#brain-dead moron"

Thanks to you learned that there are the beneficiary rewards....

Thank you so much @steemchiller for your great job.
I'm a daily user of your webapp and I really love it, it's very useful on my steemit activity in so many ways.
I could also ask for more as giving us access to data far from 7 days but I can imagine how hard must be so I'm not asking at all XD
Keep on steemin!

@steemchiller
I really like the addition of the upcoming curation rewards!
Thanks!

hi
i am a fan of you
just a question
since few weeks my posts rewards less than 0.021 sbd will not be credited to my account after 7 days. it will be vanished/
any value above 0.022 sbd will be added as usual
i have noticed this since middle of april but i did not get any clue
can you explain please why this is happening

I guess the 'vote dust threshold' is responsible for this. Here you find more details about it:

https://steemit.com/steemit/@costanza/steemit-basics-or-dust-threshold

thank you

Ok

Any ideas?

You already delegated 250 SP to the user:

I guess you didn't see it yet because the refresh for the outgoing delegations tab currently happens a bit later. I'm going to change the time for the refresh in the coming days, so that the new SP amount will be shown immediately ;)

Awesome! Thank you!
