Hello fellow Steemians!

Welcome to my 7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - Australian Monday - where the winner of the weekly round will be able to participate for the total of 200 SBD! Today, you can participate by submitting your personal pictures from your travels to the continent of Australia. I am also adding New Zealand to the same challenge as there were some concerns from other Steemians as to which continent NZ belongs to.

Your entries need to be submitted by 8 AM Central European Time in order to be considered for the challenge with a description of approximately 30 to 50 words. Only use of personal images will be accepted and only one picture can be submitted for a daily photo challenge. Ten winning photos will receive a bigger upvote from me and ten runners-up will get a smaller one.

Chosen from the ten winning entries, the absolute winner of the day will receive extended publicity in my post tomorrow morning. I will also visit his/her blog to upvote one of the most recent posts. The winning picture of the daily challenge will then automatically enter other rounds with the absolute winner gaining approximately 200 SBD in total.

Please see the winner of Asian Sunday and give him your support if you like his image to be the one winning the weekly price and entering the other stages of the 7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge. You can vote for him by upvoting his winner announcement post below:

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - Asian Sunday week #32 - the absolute winner takes 200 SBD!

@travelshots Asian Sunday entry:

The Marina Bay Sands Hotel is one of Singapores landmarks. Unfortunately it's allowed only for hotel guests to relax at the infinity pool on the top. Nevertheless it's possible for everyone to buy a ticket for the "Skypark" that is located right next to the pool. So you can enjoy the same breathtaking view of Singapores skyline from there!

Great Ocean Road

Everyone who comes down to the south of Australia shouldn't miss this awesome part of the country, great sea side scenery with lots of picturesque places. Quite a while I was there, really hope I can go there again

I have had this image submitted to the contest many times over but non of which was this mystical. Great job.

Thank you. I'm sure this place makes for a popular entry.

Have a great day, greetz from Japan

Sydney is such a busy city, that even in the late evenings the roads would still be full of cars. This picture was taken on a pedestrian bridge above the Warringah Freeway, one of the busiest highways linking the CBD with North Sydney through the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Harbour Tunnel. You can see the harbour bridge and the CBD skyline in the distance, whereas the skyscrapers close-by is North Sydney, the commercial centre north of the CBD across the Sydney Harbour.

Beautiful long exposure. The lights are awesome.

Thanks! Glad you like it

What an awesome image. Thanks for that!

You are welcome Tomas, thank you for selecting my photo.

New Zealand has stunning nature in every corner of the country. This pebble beach on the South Island made for some amazing photos as the mist was coming in during golden hour.

The light is just stunning :)

It was! I love golden hour light :)

wow, this is an incredible shot.

That is an amazing shot! Thank you so much for sharing with all of us. Tomas

Dinosauer Eggs at Moeraki beach.. Or mayby just uniquely formed rocks?? In any case it's a extraordinary location with all those round boulders littering the sand. The morning I visited I was even lucky with the light and got those beautiful pastle colors.

Maybe Ice sugar covered cookies! Nice shot :)

That's super cool! New Zealand?

Looking at the name of this beach I would say NZ but I might be wrong :)

It's on New Zealand's South Island, a few 100 km south of Christchurch

Wow! What a beauty!

This is a panoramic view of Perth from the botanic garden. Hanging out in the street during the night to capture my favorite Australian city shining of thousand lights. Here you can see the CBD which is right next to the Swan River.

Location: Perth, Australia.

Incredible cityscape! Had no idea Perth was such a big city.

Compare to Sydney or Melbourne, the city isn't that big but the suburb is huge!

Great shot! How do you get the "click on image to see it full screen"

Hi mate, Steemit can be a bit of a mystery sometimes! I've figured out how to able full screen view only a month or two ago myself. The trick is very simple, you have to use markdown code.

Write the following lines and replace the "your image address" and "your bottom text" by the actual image address and text.

I hope this answer your question :)

Take care.

Thanks so much.

You are most welcome :)

Beautiful Perth and Kings Park have you been also to Rottnest Island?

Sadly I did not went to Rottnest island, I wish I could see the whole country but it would have take me a lifetime :)

Amazing skyline! Thank you so much for your submission. Tomas

Took this photo at the wharf near Clarke Park in Sydney, Australia. This spot is not too "well known" for tourists but it is well liked with stunning views of Sydney Harbour for locals. If the weather is sunny like the day we visited, you can get really great photos of the Harbour Bridge and Luna Park. Depending where you are standing, you can also see the Opera House.

Great to see you participating again. Tomas

Freycinet National Park in Tasmania, a peninsula full of dramatic pink granite peaks, secluded bays, white sandy beaches and abundant birdlife. This challenging, hiking trail leads up to a pretty high, panoramic view of Wineglass Bay. When you arrive at the beach after a long day of hiking, you can make camp and enjoy the Tassie wilderness.

IMG_5653-2.jpg

What a view! The balade must have been very nice :)
Great shot.

Thank you! It was nice indeed but super tough, esp when your group keeps going off to side treks just to "see more" ;)

What an amazing place for a hike. Thank you for sharing. Tomas

National Library, Canberra. This photo was taken from the Regatta Point Foreshore, across Central Basin of Lake Burley Griffin. The rainbow is from the Captain Cook Waterspout, which I was lucky enough to be there for just the few minutes the sun was on the right angle.

Thank you so much for your wonderful contribution. Kindly stay tuned for the winner announcement coming later on today. Tomas

Thank you so much for your continually wonderful competitions. I have seen so many great sights around the world without even leaving my lounge room thanks to you. Commercial photographers are all well and good, but when you get the amateurs involved, the world starts to open up and there is so much more out there.

Here's my entry : )

IMG_5299s.jpg

This is the small coastal town of Brunswick Heads along the NSW coastline of Australia. We stopped in here on our way home one evening, we had never been before. The sunset that afternoon was magical, as the sun was going down behind the mountains everything was lit with a bright golden glow. If this is the show they receive each afternoon I can see why it is busy for a small coastal town!

Haven't been to Brunswick Heads in years. The fishing there is amazing. I will have to get back up that way sometime.

Yes we saw that... my daughter loves fishing and we were out along the rock wall talking with a few of the guys. One of the blokes showed us some of the fish he has caught off there and they were HUGE!!! Which thrilled my daughter who now wants to go back! : )

It is a lovely area. All the way from Coffs through to Tweed.

Yes agree! We try and get down to those areas as much as we can!

Have you seen the Jacarandas in Grafton in Spring? Simply stunning!

No not in Grafton... we have a Jacaranda Festival up here in Ipswich each year... and we travel to Toowoomba and Tenterfield in the Spring... not to Grafton though I don't think. We like Grafton though, we just had 10 days away camping out near that way. Grafton was our closest Town. : )

Thank you so much for your wonderful entry. Tomas

Thanks Tomas, always happy to join in the fun! : )

Spectacular Uluru, sacred mountain of the aborigines.
The sunrise is breathtaking but you have to get up very early (about 4:00 am) to catch it! It was hard to get a good place to stand to make a perfect shot of this natural miracle!

I just love those colors!

Auckland from above

This is an overview above the harbor of Auckland in New Zealand. We checked out the Sky Tower, even though the entry is quite expensive. The 360 degree view is worth it if you ask me. New Zealand is famous for its incredible nature but Auckland on the other hand is a modern metropole worth checking out while in NZ.

Red cliffs, white sand, and turquoise water at Cape Leveque. Cape Laveque is a remote peninsula in the far north of the Kimberley, Western Australia, Australia. The Kimberley is a spectacular region with scenery unlike anywhere else on the planet.

Those colors are awesome.

My entry is a photo taken from the top of snowy Mount Wellington around 1200 above the sea level and the panorama show Hobart and the estuary of River Derwent.

Awesome view bro! This spot must have been a hard place to get to! Wellington is such a great place to visit.

Actually it is not hard you... just follow the road you reach the top. I promise! By the way thanks for your comment!

The Three Sisters, 'Meehni', 'Wimlah' and Gunnedoo' encountered tribal laws that forbade them from marrying three brothers from another tribe. The three
brothers forcefully captured the three sisters, but a witch doctor turned the three sisters into stone to protect them from danger.

The Three Sisters is a rock formation that towers above the Jamison Valley (Blue Mountains) in beautiful orange/yellow rock depending on the time of day, as sadly the witch doctor died and only he had the power to return them to flesh.

Just putting it out there, Queen Elizabeth II said the Blue Mountains is the most beautiful place in the world.

IMG_20180416_135452.jpg

The Blue Mountains 30 years ago certainly was beautiful. Katoomba is now way too commercial. My Uncle lived for many years in Wentworth Falls and my cousin and I used to climb the sisters.

Mum grew up in Mt Victoria and my Grandmother's family ran the tea house in Mt Wilson early last century. Dad is a Penrith/Waragamba native. So I have quite a connection to the Blue Mountains.

That is interesting. Ever since Queen Elizabeth's comment, tourism has definitelysky-rocketed, so there's definitely money to be made. There is definitely a lot of commercial opportunity and money to be made.

Ethical or not, I think it's important that everybody visits the Blue Mountains at least once so they can verify for themselves whether or not that statement is in fact true!

Oh, agreed. I can't believe the development between Penrith and Richmond down on the Nepean. I lived in Penrith 20 years ago and fished the Nepean extensively. Now all the scrub has been cleared and it is horse farms and subdivisions all the way. Quite incredible how fast it has happened.

For our trip to New Zealand, we went full Lord of the Ring mode. And where is the best place to sleep? In Tongariro national park AKA the Mordor! Parking our van on the side of the road, we had this amazing view of the mountain surrounding mount doom.
Fortunately, no orc backstabbed us in our sleep :)

Dab is for life, but the scenary here is just amazing. I like being close to nature observing it I'm a person who favors nature over human made structures.

lol, upvote for the dab.

Hahahaha thanks man

Lightning Ridge, NSW - The home of the black opal.
750km from Sydney in the Australia outback.
This is a famous abandoned church that has been used in movies.
The landscape all around is post-apocalyptic, like from Mad Max.
The famous Australian movie star Paul Hogan was born in Lightning Ridge.

My grandparents had a couple of mines up there many years ago. I still remember the borebaths with fondness.

Yes, the bore baths are great. Super popular these days. Someone built a huge new caravan park across the road.

A caravan park in the Ridge? Wow, progress!

Aoraki - Mt Cook. The hightest in New Zealand. Snow-covered year around and beautiful to look at. Enjoy the view from the Southern Alps on a clear day where you can see all the way to the top!

Sunset Uluru, better known as Ayers rock. Sitting there, taking a lot of pictures, eating pizza with a small glass of wine. What a great moment.
