Oh man.. You are coming into Cherry Blossom season in your neck of the woods. Do you know that for how close I live to Washington DC, I have never been there to see them?! Crazy, I know. I need to get my butt in gear and get-er-done! I love trees if you couldn't tell by my many posts displaying my paintings of them :-D
LOVE THEM!! You have some awesome shots here. I am officially excited again. :-}
No way!!!! @bdmillergallery
I cannot believe that you have never been here! Do you know how close you live???? If you come this weekend, the Blossom Kite Festival is on Saturday and you can make it a twofer! I always love the Kite Festival!!! I never miss it! And it is going to be mid to high 70's that day, so the cherry blossoms will really pop a little bit more and I would say that it is just about the most perfect day there is! Come early and park out and take the Metro in. Parking is at a premium or nearly impossible.
I'm glad you are excited!!! That means you will probably come!!
I'll be waving from the monument!!!! ;))

EDIT: By the way, when they say peak, it means 70% of the Yoshino Cherry blossoms are opened up!
Oh wow! Sounds like so much fun. Kite festival? Sunday it was so windy here that I saw a neighbor flying a kite which put that song it my head... ummmmm how does it go? Oh yea! I got it. (Sorry in advance for getting it stuck in your head too)
The original by the way! Mary Poppins. One of my favorite movies and favorite Broadway musicals.
Unfortunately we will be in Fenwick Island/Ocean City Maryland this weekend visiting with parents and family. So close yet so far. I will wave to you from the beach but it will be hard for you to focus being that you’ll be standing at the monument. It would’ve been quite the site and again I will miss this beautiful display. I will have to plan farther in advance and really stick to my plans to see this before I die. That sounds a little gloomy but I didn’t mean it that way. You enjoy it and please take pictures and post them so I can live vicariously through you.
Hehe! No worries! There is always next year!
By the way, I bought a house over there on the Eastern Shore a few years back. Actually, when the market fell. It is an 1869 Rustic Victorian and I could never afford it here in the DC area!
So, I have gone to the Chincoteague Pony Swim on the island and go to the beach there. It is quieter than Ocean City. Actually Assateague Island. Have you ever gone there?
I bought a pony at the swim! LOL They have it every year in July.
Always Next year is my problem.. lol
1869.. wow! sounds cool!! There are deals to be had if your fluid and timing is good. I don't want a money pit or another thing to take care of. My sister, on the other hand, has bought several properties between Ocean City and the Outer Banks. They like the rental thing and it has seemed to work in their favor.
Sometimes we take a drive over to the island, but stay around the upper end near the campground. Just a nice little drive over. Otherwise we take my parents boat in from the back side for a picnic and to watch the ponies. I stay clear of those biting crazy ponies! hehe. I have seen people get to close and get a nice little bite. Thats cool that you take the big swim and sponsor a pony. Donations go a long way to helping keep them healthy and around for others to enjoy. Kudos to you!
Oh gosh! The last thing I need is a money pit! The fact that I have moved for work means I have had many opportunities to buy property and I have used some of them. I just recently relinquished the one in Texas, but Texas has just exploded Market so that was good. I Had A Summer Place in Michigan up on the Canadian border but the commute just got too much so I sold that a couple years ago. I have had one in Florida for about 15 years maybe a little more come up with it was one of the first places I ever bought and I am getting ready to get rid of it and just keep the one of the DC area the one out in the shore. It's fun to rent them when they're in good shape tell me about when you have to start pouring money into them they can become a pain. So buy them and then divest right before.
I'm no expert, but it's worked for me. It's a beautiful part of the country but I cannot see myself living there full-time. Which is what makes it a nice little weekend place. Lots of little but a nice weekend place. You're fortunate to have parents that own a place. And yes! Simple works for me! Keep those money pits away from me!
