MY VOCAB PRACTICE

1. The doctors put the patient on a saline drip.

   There are many ways and flavors to making pizza, but one of the ingredients you’ll find on some of them can be salami.

   He’s a vegetarian and prefers to only have salad for lunch.

4. Salary.
   Jane is receiving a biweekly salary from her employer.

5. Sarari-man.
   The sarari-man at his workplace decided to step down from his position without any cause.

Sarari-man have obligatory weekly drinking sessions with the boss or colleagues. They HAVE TO attend, and have to drink lots. Which ultimately makes the situation worse. :-(

I saw one video on Youtube about people in Japan working 15 hours a day, and some, usually men in their formal office attire, already even fall sleep on the streets because they’re drunk and probably very tired. Maybe those are sarari-man.

Yes, those are typical sarari-men. Work long hours in conservative suit and tie, then try to unwind / relax a bit while drinking with colleagues. Inevitably, they drink tooooo much, and sometimes throw up or even pass out in the street or on the subway train.

Repeat every week for 40 years = typical sarari-man life
