Wow, I've tried that, Sir, now all the old posts can be edited again, but I think this will make a lot of people vote on the old post and the sound will be wasted.

The voting bots need to fix their code to skip posts authored more than 7 days ago or already paid out.

Yes they have to do it.👍

I forgot to mention that once the post has been paid out, any additional votes don't count, and the voters don't lose voting power over it.

This has been available on steemit for a few weeks. Not new 😋

This is bad, I'm sure there's no point. but I don't know

That change got implemented in 0.19.10 and is intended behavior.
What about that shouldn't be happening?

I think I heard about the change implemented before but cannot be sure the version.

Remember everything here is for a reason. Those who are in charge of these changes dont fight abuse.

Hoorey! Now I can blank my old posts and re-post for new rewards!
Imagine the possibilities!

.

This is trivial for bots and you'll run the risk of being flagged for doing this.

I do think this is bad but I'm just here for the ride. Let's see what happens.

Editable but the original version will still be recorded? Just found the changes like yesterday!

Hello.
ideas do not stop evolving and we can always polish them

WOW I had not noticed this till you shared it,I see it as well

As many have pointed out, this is not a "fcuk up". This was an intential feature and a very handy one at that.

Imagine you run a news-type of service on Steem. Occasionally you'll want to correct and / or modify an article. Now you can.

Or if you write tutorials for specific. When new versions of that software come out, it's helpful to append an edit to your old tutorial instructing future readers that it may be out-dated, and you can link them to the most up-to-date tutorial.

IMO, this is a very useful addition that doesn't really do any harm [ at least, not any new harm that couldn't have been done before ].

I read it was part of HF20 like I’m all for fixing your posts if their was a few mistakes you picked up late maybe you get 1 or 2 edits post 7 days but I’m not so sure about having it on all the time! You could delete all your content anytime you wanted or worse if you’re account is hacked like often we’ve seen it happen you could lose your content

  1. This is useful when you need to correct / modify / append to very old post. Like news articles, tutorials, etc.
  2. You won't lose your content, it's saved on the blockchain.

So how would you view iterations saved on the blockchain? I think if that’s the case it would be a really helpful tool with more oversight

You can use any blockchain explorer [ like Steemd ] to see activity.

For instance, here's a post made by one of my accounts which I later went and edited. You can see at the top it says (edited):
Selection_080.png

So, just to simply see if a post has been edited, you can just check there.

Now, to see the actual edits themselves, I was surprised Steemd doesn't include this already since they are tracking edits. But it wouldn't be that hard to setup to watch for posts, save the data, then include any edits that get added later on.

I feel like Steemd is most set-up to tackle this problem right now, but it's easy enough for a 3rd party to get a basic tool like this up and running. Would be a welcomed addition to the Steem platform for sure! :)

.

oh wow, I've never heard of that tool before. Thanks for telling me about it, and thanks for the link as well! Was a good read to understand the complexity behind it all, I figured that space would also be an issue due to the sheer size of the chain.

Thanks!

I no is true.. my older post 7 day can edit again.. I thing is bug after HF20

Not a bug, this was intended. It's actually incredibly useful for when you need to append / correct something in an older post.
