My Actifit Report blah blah - I changed this title in the app and apparently it didn't like it, so here we are

So I'm new to this whole thing, but I feel like I've used it long enough to have an opinion that nobody cares about. I downloaded the app yesterday afternoon. Unfortunately, it will only sync to Fitbit or use your phone's sensors. I do not have a Fitbit, but I do have a phone - obviously amirite?? So, From the time I picked up my phone, put it in my pocked, and took it out (for experimental purposes), I gained around 25 steps. BUT, get this, I never took a step! WHAT? Yea, so the sensor is suuuuper sensitive, I glanced at the leaderboard and saw people had an absurd amount of steps. Being the cynical asshole I am, I have to believe that none of the top 'scores,' 'steps,' whatever the hell you wanna call them, are actually real.

Final decision- Hell yes I will use this to get an easy post every now and then and hopefully get a few votes from people who have no idea who I actually am or have any reason to support me. Sports!

PS... Apparently i couldn't post until I hit 1,000 steps. I literally just shook my phone for probably 6 minutes. We good now.

PS again... I had to pick an activity type so aerobics seemed appropriate. You'd be surprised how much energy you burn shaking your phone

Well, my friend, even as a brand new user it appears we care about your opinion.

Life is what you make of it...you can shake the phone and maybe get some AFIT, most people will likely notice and ignore you. Or you can use the app as intended and try and get healthy and get rewarded in the process. The choice is yours.
If your goal is to be successful on this blockchain, you might want to ask yourself what you’re in it for...cause you can’t do it alone, and I’m certainly not going to follow you based on fraudulent activity.

I appreciate you taking the time to respond! I totally agree. I was feeling pretty good from drinking last night and came off as a pretty big asshole. Getting healthy and rewarded at the same time is definitely something I need to do.

No, I cannot be successful on this blockchain alone, nobody can unless they were super early investors - and I question how successful they are right now. I think when we all dig deep and ask ourselves why we're here, it's to make money. I never expected to gain followers from this post, hell, I was excited to see so many comments come from it, so I guess mission accomplished.

Yeah, been there and done that...get a couple down and start to rant online.

Actifit calculates activity count, not steps, tho steps of course are a big part of that. For example even when using fitbit I could walk 100 steps but have 5000 activity count because I was chopping firewood for an hour. Hardly moved at all from one place but did a whole lot of activity :)
I was a sceptical about top activity counts too, but now not so much. I did 49K last week just basicaly working all day and walking a few hours. And I am far from the best shape. If someone runs a maratjon that's easy 50K right there even for the run of about 3-4 hours. I get sceptical hippo eyes when people get everyday 40-50 K because I can barely make it once a week. But again - there are people who are in much better shape. Also there are no point to post more than 10K activity. Rewards will not increase beyond 10K.

Yea, I know, haha. I had been drinking and apparently was in quite the mood. Ahhh, that makes sense. I didn't realize that's what we were tracking, but I also didn't do any research beforehand, haha. Good to know! Definitely appreciate the insight since I'm new. No promises I'll make the top char, but I guess you never know, haha

hey man, as a fellow cynical asshole, i thought i'd comment and say that the people you see on the leaderboard are definitely racking up real steps.

this app is still pretty new, and sometimes people have issues depending on what kind of phone they use, and what the phone's settings are. in my case, i have an iphone, and before i started using the app seriously, i went outside and literally stared at the screen while counting my steps to verify its accuracy. in my experience it is pretty much spot on.

if you're on discord, maybe you could share your issue in @actifit's help channel, or just leave a comment on @actifit's steemit profile… i'm sure a moderator or someone from management like @mcfarhat would be happy to help you figure out what's going on.

always nice to meet a fellow cynical asshole, haha. I'm going to do a little more research and hopefully figure out how to get an accurate reading! I think it all depends on the phone and it's sensitivity, so I can't hold that against them.

I think that the minimum activity to get the actifit vote is 5k so at that rate you'll have to shake it for 30 minutes :)

I have the opposite problem, sensors not being sensitive enough and it won't register the steps. Either that, or I'm too smooth of a walker :)

I'm sure I can find 30 minutes (probably not consecutively) to give it a good shake, lol. Instead of assuming you have a different phone/sensitivity, I'll definitely assume you're too smooth. Being smooth in general carries over to walking and much more 😂

We track the abusers on this platform and to ensure the samething we also check the proof of their activity via a video in case of higher activity counts. we make sure that nobody cheats with the system and everyone gets what they really deserve for their proof of activity.
As per the sensitivity part of the application, it differs from hardware to hardware. some people have high sensitivity and some may have low and we keep thriving to find the solution so that users can have seamless and bugless experience with Actifit. The main aim is that to make people to take their health seriously and give proper attention to their body and health, rewards fall on the second place. We have taken your feedback and will brainstorm to make sure that people can have nice time with us (Actifit).
The minimum activity count is 5000 in order to receive rewards.

Hello! I appreciate the response. I'm glad to hear y'all keep an eye on people cheating the system. Yea, it's definitely hard to find a fair reading with different sensitivities. I will admit, I was about half, if not totally, drunk when I made this post and did not expect any responses. I appreciate a moderator commenting on my post and I will try to use the app without abusing it!

What do you mean via video? How that works? First time I heard about that.

In case of higher activity counts post on regular basis, we require video proof at certain times to ensure that the proof of work is authentic. In case if anyone fails to satisfy the requirements of proof that moderation requires one can get banned from the app or appropriate actions will be taken.

Secondly, its always feels good when you rank higher on leadersboard. People often get motivated to do so to reach higher ranks.
Personally I also get motivated by seeing higher rankers to walk longer to come on leadersboard.

Yes, that is very true! I have my eyes set on those top10 of all-time (one day count and also total count) :)
I thought maybe you tap into the camera and look up what we're doing if we are doing very well xD
