If art is an outward expression of our inward self, maybe one of your emotions became part of the art!
It's a beautiful piece, I would not have guessed he was happy, but I feel there is meaning to the sadness or longing in his eye's.
I wonder what feeling you derive from it? You don't have to share if you don't want to. I think it's amazing how our art can change how we feel so drastically, even about the art piece itself at times! Sometime's, my art makes me feel good, sometimes sad, sometimes I even get angry at my art, because it is TRUTH, and I cannot hide from it.
If I would be a very good artist, I'd say this is something coming from inside, as you said, maybe one of my emotions became part of the drawing. But I'm a beginner and I draw what I can. Meaning, I start something and like this drawing, I get something, maybe a totally different thing.
The model is a very interesting guy, I guess I'm going to draw more based on his photos. I want to tell you who he is, you're going to see how expressive he is. I'm sending you a message on Discord.
You know, while I was drawing, my only concern was to create something acceptable, so my drawing would look like a human being. It amuses me how I have to redo some parts, like noses, mouths, eyes etc. So while drawing I can only concentrate on the work. As I said in my post, I can laugh about how untalented I am, and how creepy my drawings can be. This is good because it's fun and gives me pleasure, makes me want to draw more. And it's also a therapy for me, it helps me think, put my thoughts in order.
After that, however, looking at it, it made me feel sad, somehow I felt sorry for him because indeed, it looks like he has some huge problems. I should have erased a part of it and draw it again but I'm always afraid of ruining it completely and not being able to restore it.
So I left it as it is and I'm going to do another drawing soon, making sure it won't be a sad face.
Feel free to ask me anything, I don't really have anyone to talk about this, except for a few people. But you're the only one who explained it with great details. I'm so happy and grateful for that :)
I find myself also redoing parts of my poetry and music. I think this is a normal part of the creative process. Artists are never satisfied with their work, and this is the mark of a good artist in my opinion!
I'm laughing at the idea of you being untalented, that is so not true!!!
This is something we share in common! :)
It's hard for me to say, but I think you made the right choice. It doesn't look like a beginner drew this. If in fact you are a beginner, you are very advanced, more so than you might think. I also think there is meaning to why the drawing came out opposite of his perceived emotion. What the meaning is, I'm not sure because I am not the artist, but I think it has to either do with you, or something your subconscious picked up on with his emotions.
If it comes out sad again, that's ok! I will just have to virtually tickle you and make you laugh with emojis, and it won't bother you so much! 😛 😉
Be careful what you wish for 😉 💕
The new guy drawing is out, I'm so excited to see what you think of it. :)
