FYI: The Average Person Falls Asleep Approximately 7 Minutes

How long should it to fall asleep? In general, it may not really take long to fall asleep however some people struggles to sleep even at it's peak of weariness.

Sleep experts said that the latency of breaking through the state of sleeping is maximum of 20 minutes. When you go beyond that mark, it addresses sleep disorder or commonly known "insomnia" and if not corrected, the state (body) will be affected.

The key of a next happy day is a good night sleep. This following suggestion might give you an answer of your unsolved sleep disorder.

Set A Routine:

If your sleeping time is 9:00 PM then it must be 9:00 PM. Be responsible that any work, parties or just staying late at night, you will suffer afterwards. Discipline is one of the key factor here.

For Coffee Drinkers: Set Your Coffee Breaks

Nowadays, even at night, there a lot of people take a coffee break and we all know what coffee's effect. IT BRINGS BACK SLEEPY LIFE hahahahaha however I actually and still fall asleep even taking a cup of coffee. So, if you want to sleep early don't drink coffee instead a glass of milk will help.

POWER DOWN (not here on steemit haha)

It means that BRIGHT LIGHTS TO NO LIGHTS have impact on sleeping. Dimly lit rooms may help and trigger sleep. Gadgets such as cellphones after lights off will not help you sleep and it will damage your eyes also and we are informed that it is not OK to place your device above your head, due to radiation that can contribute for bad sleep.

Never Go To Sleep With "LEFT BEHIND" Tasks

This part is too common. Unattended tasks will contribute sleepless nights. Most especially working people and students (stay home Moms are considered too). It natural to us that once we left behind something we worry. This situation address how mind works in multi-tasking, it really to some point and even as trained, distinguish unfinished business (even ghost do have hahaha).

Free Yourself Before Sleeping

Practice on how to relax your body and mind to fall asleep. One reflexology told me that to sleep quick, you must press gently using the tip of your thumb in between your eyebrows. Some, use fragrance to fall asleep. A good pillow and a comfy bed. These are tools that contributes fast and good night sleep.

Reduce And Balance Your Lifestyle

In the modern world NIGHT IS DAY and DAY IS NIGHT hahahaha for some of us. Those who work at night and vice versa. Lifestyle change and it changes your body clock. Good food, proper diet, enough exercise and happy life contributes more than your party and drinks hahaha. Set your "body battery" to optimum performance so that you may re-charged yourself asleep.

If Symptoms Persists Consult A Doctor/Specialist

If you followed my list or even search more about sleeping disorder and followed there tips and still can't reach that point of sleepiness? Then, doctors and specialist will be on the stage. They will help, advise and suggest how to improve your bedtime routine. Thus, if seen worst, prescribe medication will take place.

How about not using any electronic gadgets after 8 p.m.? Being in front of the monitor till the very last minute before you go to be is another factor with bad influence over the quality of your sleep.

I can't follow it though..to be honest.

me to sometimes however the next day I must have at least complete bed rest :P

I've had a problem recently where I get to sleep almost immediately but then I find I wake up about 30mins - 1hr later. I usually try something like listen to an audiobook or meditate or even write down anything that's on my mind. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. I'll keep trying different things. My Mum swears by pre-biotic honey (as opposed to pro-biotic).

Thank you for sharing with us your struggles in sleeping and how you somehow cope with it. Pre-biotic honey is a new word for me, I think I'll have to check on it.

I cannot fall asleep even 7 hours after lying in bed!

me to sometimes but I see to it that the next night I should or complete bed rest :)

As someone with an ongoing battle with weapons grade insomnia this is right on the money advice wise. I found that I would faff about with unattended tasks and push back my bedtime. One tip I found works is to list those things down for a to do list for the following day and then my mind seems to be able to let them go. Nice post.
