In this context you copied everything from Wikipedia except the references. That was the reason for the comment. "Copying/Pasting full texts" but I agree the comment could have been re-worded a bit to suggest you use a few important sentences from Wikipedia and acknowledge that you did write some original content and suggest expanding on it to engage your readers a bit more.
I didnt think the reference were too important I would have included if that is the issue. The reader clearly could go and check the resources. I just wanted to put a snapshot of the collective wisdom of the event into the block chain with 2 other information outlets reporting on the event and it's current state.

The whole style of my post is to allow the reader to evaluate what others have said in a quick way without having to force me to play telephone game inserting me into the story when I would only be parroting what others more informed/engaged have said.
Unfortunately I don't know who owns blacklist-a. That is still a mystery. It's a bot and I don't think its owner even followups on it like I do with mine.
It's good to include references depending on the tags you use. We do have academics here and depending on the subject or your target audience that can help you gain followers.
I think that putting it together as you have does add some originality to it. Most users here just grab entire articles and copy them. It really does become an issue of spam when no one adds anything to what they copy. There are times I've found the same crypto article copied dozens of times in one week mostly by accounts that don't even engage their followers.
I don't think the problem is the subject of your post but that the majority of the community from the beginning has tried to be different than other social media platforms and value content creators. I personally consider opinion posts to have value and I think that steemit is a great place for it.
I haven't had time to do any opinion pieces in quite a while but I try to do 25% copy to 75% original.

One problem with explaining how bad the issue of Death by Cop in the USA is that everyone wants to make it a racial issue which often it is but when you look at the total numbers of people killed by police officers you would be begging for gun control for police officers.
The ones that are supposed to protect and serve instead have a new motto, "Attack and Unnerve" Their jobs are difficult but they are too quick to use deadly force to protect the law. Take away their guns and only accept men of honor and integrity to the position to solve this enormous problem. The government allowing the police to bear arms when often the citizens are restricted has created a hostile aggression against it's citizens including law a biding.
Yea, very sad that Chamberlain's family still has not had justice throught the courts. Hopefully the appeal goes well, assuming it has not already been decided.

All death by cops should be vigorously investigated by an independent agency not an in-house internal affairs phony baloney investigation. By lookin at your upvotes, you seem to be buying most of them which is just a perpetuation of certain problems with steemit as a whole. His downvote did not ruin your account, but understandably it can feel bad still. My suggestion if you want to write articles this way is to use the blockquote for part of the post and then write your own response/analysis of the information you are quoting. The intention of this is not to make people leave steemit but to fix these internal problems. The reason why a warning does not work outright with steemit is that there is the potential for a large amount of earnings to be made from the limited daily reward pool that you simply didn't earn. For this reason I say be thankful it was @littleboy and not berniesanders coming after you for this (cause bernie would destroy your account)

Yes but over 50% of the content of your post is in blockquotes. Generally people like having >50% be content from the creator and <50% be quoted content where as yours is around >90% quoted. If you had provided custom content (like way more than quoted content) then it wouldn't be considered plagiarism.
