And when he is big and knows many things (no matter whether at work or in interpersonal contacts), women are ready to fight among themselves for such a male. A lot of male authors can't portray this, but I know one who does it perfectly. Even at the level of the best female authors.
That someone is Tsukasa Hōjō. His most famous titles are City Hunter, Angel Heart and Cat's Eye, which share the same world. He also created a few others, but to be honest, this is the first time I'm browsing Wikipedia. It is true that these titles focus primarily on action scenes, shootings, working as a mercenary or a thief, but their essential part is romance. I wanted to write here about the limitations of publishing my comic book in WSJ (the same weekly that published DB, Bleach, Naruto...), but while doing research, I saw a naked lady with nice breasts and a blurred crotch, just like in Berserk. Well, Japan. Well, let me put it another way - a good artist stands out because he included various details in his work that most people did not pay attention to. Or the creator simply did in-depth research, which is also worth praising, especially nowadays, when record numbers of productions are produced and too little time and attention are devoted to refining them.
In the case of City Hunter, we are dealing with someone who has done good research and knows how to put his observations on paper (like the author of The Witcher, Andrzej Sapkowski) or with an expert who has no problem in picking up women. Looking at Mr. Hojo's photos, I'm betting on the latter. This can be seen in every aspect of his comics. The drawings very well reflect women's unconditional reflexes when expressing interest in a given man (ironically, while passing one subject at university, I received some questions about such signals during a date). This can also be seen in facial expressions - at the beginning of the chapter, the heroines are usually not interested in hitting on the protagonist. The situation changes when they learn about Ryo Saeba's value. Not to mention dialogues and flirting.
To complete this picture, I will briefly talk about Angel Heart. I don't want to spoil this thread because it will spoil your enjoyment of City Hunter. I haven't watched it myself yet (I plan to catch up "someday"), but my proofreader, Karol, has told me about these fragments many times. W drugą stronę ten problem rzadko kiedy występuje, bo nie ma co ukrywać, faceci co do zasady są prostymi maszynami. Z drugiej strony, te same kobiety tracą rozum dla przystojnego mężczyzny, który zna swoją wartość. A jak jest duży i umie wiele rzeczy (nie ważne, czy w pracy, czy w kontaktach międzyludzkich), kobiety są gotowe walczyć między sobą o takiego samca. Wielu męskich autorów nie umie tego przedstawić, ale znam jednego, który robi to doskonale. Wręcz na poziomie najlepszych autorek płci żeńskiej.
Tym kimś jest Tsukasa Hōjō. Jego najsłynniejsze tytuły to City Hunter, Angel Heart i Cat's Eye, które współdzielą ten sam świat. Stworzył też kilka innych, ale prawdę powiedziawszy, przeglądając Wikipedię widzę je po raz pierwszy. Co prawda te tytuły skupiają się przede wszystkim na scenach akcji, strzelaninach, pracy jako najemnik, czy złodziej, ale ich esencjonalną częścią jest romans. Chciałem tutaj napisać o ograniczeniach, jakie wiążą się z wydawaniem swojego komiksu przez WSJ (ten sam tygodnik, w którym wychodził DB, Bleach, Naruto...), ale w trakcie robienia researchu, zobaczyłem nagą panią z ładnym biustem i zamazanym kroczem, dokładnie tak jak w Berserku. No cóż, Japonia. No to powiem to w inny sposób - dobry artysta wyróżnia się tym, że zamieścił w swej pracy różne detale, na które większość nie zwróciła uwagi. Albo dany twórca wykonał po prostu dogłębny research, co też zasługuje na pochwałę, zwłaszcza w dzisiejszych czasach, gdy produkuje się rekordowo dużo produkcji, którym poświęcono zbyt mało czasu i uwagi na dopracowanie.
W przypadku City Huntera mamy do czynienia z kimś, kto zrobił dobry research i umie przelać swoje spostrzeżenia na papier (jak autor Wiedzmina, Andrzej Sapkowski) albo z ekspertem, który nie ma problemu w podrywaniu kobiet. Patrząc na zdjęcia pana Hojo, stawiam na to drugie. Widać to w każdym aspekcie jego komiksu. Rysunki bardzo dobrze oddają odruchy bezwarunkowe kobiet, gdy wyrażają zainteresowanie danym mężczyzną (jak na ironię, podczas zaliczenia jednego przedmiotu na studiach, dostałem część pytań dotyczących właśnie takich sygnałów podczas randki). Widać to też po mimice - bohaterki na początku rozdziału zazwyczaj nie są zainteresowane podrywem protagonisty. Sytuacja ulega zmianie, gdy przekonują się o wartości Ryo Saeby. O dialogach i flircie nie wspominając.
Żeby dopełnić tego obrazu, powiem jeszcze krótko o Angel Heart. Nie chcę spoilerować tego wątku, bo zepsuje Wam radość z obcowania z City Hunterem. Sam jeszcze tego nie obejrzałem (mam w planach "kiedyś tam" nadrobić zaległości), ale mój korektor, Karol, wielokrotnie mi opowiadał o tych fragmentach. Raz nawet wysłał mi fragment pokazujący jeden z najsmutniejszych elementów. Twarz i reakcja bohatera mówi wszystko o jego cierpieniu oraz głębi jego uczuć. Gdy zobaczyłem ten fragment, byłem już pewny, że City Hunter można umiejscowić na tym samym poziomie, co Nanę. Przynajmniej pod względem pokazania emocji i uczuć. Bardzo polecam ten komiks.
xD obejrzałem dziwnie niezabawną komedię francuską , drugą tego reżysera (gra też tytułowych bohaterów) pod koniec wygooglałem i zobaczyłem że to przeniesienie do filmu aktorskiego tej mangi , więcej niż jeden film tego mistrza rocznie chyba by mi mózg do końca roztopił ...

Jest też jakaś całkiem inna fabuła z Jackiem Chanem też an podstawie mangi ale to może innym razem .
@gwyddpel z tego co wiem, to zła / nieudana / wykastrowana adaptacja (dokładnego powodu nie znam, pewnie wszystko po trochu, Karol mi kilka razy mówił o tych filmach, ale z racji że to nieudane adaptacje, to nie zwracałem na nie szczególnej uwagi). Podobnie z Jackie Chanem.
Nie wiem, jak jest z Twoją znajomością anime, ale City Hunter to taka luźna komedyjka z Japońskim humorem oraz powazniejszymi wątkami. Zwykle tego typu komedie nazywa się ecchi, a tutaj jest coś więcej niż golizna, śmieszki z nagości etc.

Tak, humor jest typowo Japoński i nie każdemu podejdzie, ale ten film w przeciwieństwie do tych, które przytoczyłeś, to pełna adaptacja, a nie coś jak DB Ewolucja względem DBZ z RTL7 :P.

Yeah, I really agree with you that there are also male mangakas who illustrate romantic scenes nicely (Ryoichi Ikegami!).
I haven't really tried watching its anime or reading the manga, but I've watched Jackie Chan's portrayal of it and also the recent one portrayed by Ryohei Suzuki. Both of them were funny, tho I kinda like more the Jackie Chan's version (tho the secondhand embarrassment while watching it had reached heights lol).

Ryoichi Ikegami... One of most popular manga creators. Never saw his titles, but I heard so much good things bout him.
As for the adaptation, I won't comment because I haven't seen any live-action version of City Hunter yet.
The way he drew the characters and their emotions was really cool and affecting. I loved how he portrays the emotions of the characters he draws—especially those sensual scenes—there is something about the way he draws them that makes them enthralling to look at. Especially Sanctuary... I really got hooked up with that manga way back then.
