They say that life is tastier at sea. I come from a city called Puerto Cabello, which is the largest port in Venezuela today. I lived there for more than 45 years. To give you an idea, my house is located 10 minutes walk from the beach, that is, almost every day when I was a kid I went to the beach to enjoy the sand of the sea, the breeze in the mornings and its gastronomy. This is one of my favorite parts, because who does not like to eat, garlic prawns, shrimp, oysters and a rich fried fish, with tostón and salad, are super delicious dishes.
Dicen, por ahÃ, que en el mar la vida es más sabrosa. Yo vengo de una ciudad llamada Puerto Cabello, que es el puerto más grande que tiene Venezuela actualmente. Allà vivà durante más de 45 años. Para que tengan una idea, mi casa está ubicada a 10 minutos caminando de la playa, es decir, casi que todos los dÃas cuando era chico me iba a la playa a disfrutar, de la arena del mar, de la brisa por las mañanas y de su gastronomÃa. Esta es una de mis partes favoritas, porque a quien no le gusta comer, langostinos al ajillo, camarones, ostras y un rico pescado frito, con tostón y ensalada, son platos super exquisitos.
In my personal opinion, there is nothing nicer than sitting on a cliff, in the sunsets in front of the sea, watching how the waves break and on the crest go the kids surfing one after another. Surfing is a very fun sport, it is not easy to maneuver the surfboard and even more so when you go over the crest of the wave, as if taming it like a wild horse. That's how my sunsets were, in my little piece of heaven called Puerto Cabello. It was to see the sun hiding on the horizon, like a ball of incandescent fire, shining in all its splendor, with its imposing character, as it is characterized. Life often takes us in a different direction and we feel the nostalgia of not being able to enjoy such a wonderful landscape that will always bring us the sea.
En mi opinión personal, no hay nada más lindo que sentarte sobre un acantilado, en los atardeceres frente al mar, ver cómo rompen las olas y sobre la cresta van los chicos surfeando una tras otra. El surf es un deporte muy divertido, no es fácil maniobrar la tabla de surf y más aún cuando vas sobre la cresta de ola, como domándola cuál caballo bravÃo. Asà eran mis atardeceres, en mi pedacito de cielo llamado Puerto Cabello. Era ver el sol ocultarse por el horizonte, como una bola de fuego incandescente, que brilla en todo su esplendor, con su carácter imponente, como se caracteriza. La vida muchas veces nos lleva por otro rumbo y se siente la nostalgia, de no poder disfrutar de tan maravilloso paisaje que siempre nos va a aflorar el mar.
To be on the crest of a wave is a sign of great discipline; it is years of training to achieve the goal. It is to feel successful, because on the way new doors will surely open for you, full of endless opportunities, and at that point you will be invaded by confidence and self-confidence. Being on the crest of the wave, perhaps for many, means a simple sport, where you win a trophy or some economic prize. But for you it is certainly a challenge, where the pressure is at its maximum, it is a competition with a lot of risk, the blows are very hard to fall and you have to be 100% motivated. There is no room for mistakes, because there are only seconds of competition. You decide to take the wave or let it pass, but each wave that passes is a unique opportunity in life, because that wave will not return, with the same characteristics, with the same opportunities.
Estar sobre la cresta de una ola, es señal de mucha disciplina; son años de entrenamiento, para lograr el objetivo. Es sentirte exitoso, pues en el camino seguro se te abrirán nuevas puertas, llenas de un sin fin de oportunidades, y en ese punto te invadirá la confianza y la seguridad de ti mismo. Estar sobre la cresta de la ola, tal vez para muchos, significa un simple deporte, en donde te ganas un trofeo o algún premio económico. Pero para ti sin duda es un desafÃo, en donde la presión está al máximo, es una competencia de mucho riesgo, los golpes son muy duros al caer y allà hay que estar 100% motivado. No hay cabida para errores, pues solo son segundos de competencia. Tú decides tomar la ola o dejarla pasar, pero cada ola que pasa es una oportunidad única en la vida, pues esa ola no volverá, con las mismas caracterÃsticas, con las mismas oportunidades.
This is life, dear friends, full of opportunities and challenges. We all want to be on the crest, but for that you have to fight, with discipline, have a lot of perseverance, analyze the mistakes when we fall. The crest of the wave is not for everyone, only for those who believe in themselves, have confidence and above all a lot of motivation. Things are not going to fall from the sky, there are few who are born on the crest and, however, fail to master the wave and fall. You have to learn to ride the wave, there are many years of training, but willing is able and, above all, never lose faith in yourself, only then, you will take the wave of your life and, on the crest, you will enjoy everything you built.
Asà es la vida, queridos amigos, llena de oportunidades y de desafÃos. Todos queremos estar sobre la cresta, pero para eso hay que luchar, con disciplina, tener mucha constancia, analizar los errores a la hora de caernos. La cresta de la ola no es para todo el mundo, solo para los que creen en sà mismos, se tiene confianza y sobre todo mucha motivación. Las cosas no te van a caer del cielo, son pocos los que nacen sobre la cresta y, sin embargo, no logran dominar la ola y se caen. Hay que aprender a cabalgar la ola, son muchos años de entrenamiento, pero querer es poder y, sobre todo, nunca pierdas la fe en ti mismo, solo asÃ, tomarás la ola de tu vida y, sobre la cresta, disfrutarás de todo lo que construiste.
