In my quest to document something out of the ordinary at the DEX yesterday, I was too slow in selling my 3,093 SIM when it went from USD 4.19 to USD 133.92, and it fell back to USD 4.06.
Suppose I have the extremely good fortune to catch a flash spike like that again (not likely, but who knows?):
I'm trying to figure out how to add money to buy HIVE at Hive Engine; I think I know what I'm doing there for when the time comes, just not yet. My concern at this moment is any token on Layer 2.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
I don't know of any way to go straight to or from fiat on HIVE. There are no fiat on/off ramps. The closest we have is through PayPal on Splinterlands. From there you can send directly to Hive-Engine. Other than that, you need to use the bridges from bLEO/wLEO or deathwing to BSC. If there are others, I don't know them.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
An exchange from HIVE directly to USD or from USD to HIVE would be ideal, but I'm not expecting that.
Binance is not an option for me for geographic (really legal) reasons. I managed to offload some ETH to my Brave browser wallet the other day, so I don't need to worry about moving ETH from Gemini to Hive Engine.
I was just trying to find the easiest way to send ETH from my wallet to Hive Engine in order to have some liquid SWAP.HIVE I could use. Going through 1 or 2 chains may be necessary, but I have to side-step Binance.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
You should be able to swap ETH to wLEO on Uniswap in your metamask wallet and then bridge the wLEO into LEO and swap that for swap.hive. The fees suck on Uniswap, obviously, so you'd want to do a large enough amount to make it worthwhile.

It may be a while before I have an amount that can justify paying those fees. Thanks for letting me know about the alternative procedure.

Anyone think the markets bounce on Monday?
I think we will see a reversal. The pullback was far too sharp on Friday. It was overdone in my opinion.
Not that this might not start a longer trend down. It is just I expect a bounce due to a massive selloff when people rationalize that it was overdone.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
You are right and it already started as we can see reversed evolution all over the market. HIVE is at $2.06, which is a good fundamental price if it stays over the $2 price point. But even so, we will probably see some more downtrend all over the place imo.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
If it's true that the stock market drops were triggered by news of the latest COVID-19 variant, it may be a few days before the markets return to normal. The hype machine is just getting warmed up, so who knows how long it will impact th markets. Cryptocurrencies should be OK, but it may rely on money moving out of stocks into crypto.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
Fee's are a bitch, and it's sad to pay them. I withdraw from HE, then I use Blocktrades.us who swaps my hive for litecoin and sends it to coinbase for me, then on coinbase I convert it cash, then I withdraw to my bank.
Paying fees along the entire process.
Bringing funds in to buy HIVE, I was going the BTC route and was hit with huge fees one day, far beyond what I normally paid. Then I went the Litecoin route, where the fees are WAY lower: Fiat>LTC>HIVE
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
Yupp, that's all I've ever done! Fuckin coinbase though..
I need to get on coinbase pro
The biggest problem with them is the transaction wait times. I've waited over an hour for crypto to escape CB. Not sure what the diff is between CB and CB Pro. It might be worth it if they were faster.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
Haha yea... I'm always thinking welp.. maby it won't come and the gov. Just jacked it haha
As one of the first altcoins made, Litecoin (LTC) doesn't get the attention or love it deserves.
Being a more cost-effective alternative than Bitcoin for funding exchange accounts is a great use case for Litecoin. That might be a good reason for @crypto-guides to have a Guide for it.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
That sounds like a valid way to go around transferring things. I'll note this incase I ever need to convert some crypto to and from HIVE.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
yeaaa boi! Cant wait for SPKnetwork and to become a real miner! fuck this farming nonsense!
The crypto markets or the equities market? I see all the dangerous signs that are needed for a heavy crash but I also think it may just grind up. At least from the option chain, it seems like the market makers have their positions about 1% or 2% further down from the current price.

NPR - Is Web3 internet jargon or a vision for the future
NPR's value proposition:"for instance, every time you post a message, you earn a token for your contribution, giving you both ownership stake in the platform and one day a way to cash in."
That's a platform/token that will have little to no value.
It's funny to see that NPR is just as ignorant as other Web2 outlets to the whole idea of proof of brain + time & attention. But again, this is the participation trophy outlet.
Staying on topic: "Decentralized social networks have proved appealing to white supremacists and other far-right groups"
Is web3 just hype: "if part of the impetus is to resist giving up personal data to Big Tech companies, then the blockchain is not the solution, since that will make even more data public."
Oooh Mic Drop!! ....
Except that these big data companies have no where to advertise their poisonous products on our front-ends.
"It doesn't make any sense," he said. "The vision says the problem with the internet is too many centralized intermediaries. Instead of having lots of different applications and sites, we'll put it all on blockchains, which puts it all in one place."
#layer-2
But many people who found wealth during the pandemic by investing in cryptocurrencies are looking around for something to plunge cash into beyond NFTs of "bored apes" who are members of a cartoon "yacht club."
"There are a lot of people who have money to invest," he said. "And they need some vision to throw money at."
Whatever You Do! DO NOT Look At or Talk About HIVE, or Mention Proof-of-Brain!!
What did you expect from the mainstream establishment? They don't want change and I doubt they would look more into new technology until it becomes mainstream. Of course they wouldn't understand it.

Yupp bunch of bumbling idiots
That's only because they were chased out of where they wanted to be.
They were happy to be on Facebook and MySpace before that (not to mention Twitter/Dipbird), but they were chased out. Not only were they chased out, they weren't allowed to be on alternative platforms of the same caliber as Facebook or Twitter/Dipbird. So they had to wander the online wilderness for a while before squatting in some online ghetto. Not just white supremacists but also "white supremacists."
Today it's what the Establishment calls "white supremacists." Tomorrow it can be defenders of Due Process. The day after that it can be users of Telegram or Signal. Some time later.... it can be you or me; by that time, it may be too late for us. It begins with Undesirables, then it creeps to Freaks, then it ends up at Normies.
Decentralized networks are for everyone, and anyone can claim a corner of a decentralized network for himself/herself. Even Establishment-types can find a place on some decentralized network or other; they just need to leave the rest of us alone.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
Its hard to see what you did there by saying not just white suprems but "white suprems" haha but I got it! Yea dude... but even then.. I do not see those people on hive, lol.. at least not in any significant amount like I still see on facebook.
I know all about what you are talking about/getting at tho.. its incrementalism/divide and conquer. I did an audio version of my friends article "Chilling Dissent: How the Government Demonized Americans"
Ive been at this waking up with masses, before I ever heard anyone say the word Woke.
When I was in grade school, white supremacists were people who not only espoused a certain ideology but also went out of their way to make the lives of "the others" a living hell. Based on how the term has been used in recent years-- especially in phrases such as "the black face of white supremacy"-- it's come to mean (simply) anyone who disagrees with the Establishment. That's why I put the term in quotes.
As for the incrementalism you noted, I was refering to the classic account from World War II about how no one was left to defend the main character of the account (someone who was Jewish). It was something like "When they came for the Gypsies, I did nothing because I'm not a Gypsy" repeated several times with different peoples.
(This looks like a topic better suited for Proof of Brain than LeoFinance, so I'll go down that rabbit hole for a while to post something on this topic there later. I need the tokens.)
Just a reminder: National Public Radio (NPR) is literally state-run media in the United States. For what we care about, NPR promotes FUD.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
I know who you are talking about, and I've heard that quote many times.. I am coming from the American dissident category and have been this way for more than 10 years now, thanks to youtube.. it radicalizes us in the best way : )
These people currently have and will always have a one-track mind. They can't see outside their narrow assessment of the world. Anyone who doesn't see things their way they just can't understand. They have no ability to put themselves into other peoples' shoes and try to come to an understanding of why those people look at the world the way they do. They just think everyone should see it their way.
It's pointless to argue with them because they have no ability to see logic. Sad, but true.

fkn idiots.. haha
So I was reading this post about RCs and found out that the cost of votes/comments is dynamic. Does anyone know if it has gone up recently?
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
Man we need to have a round-table discussion sometime on how RC's actually work haha! So we can point to it when new people have questions, and we can leverage that information to encourage the purchasing and powering up of hive..
So many splinterlands players have no friggin idea!!
Yea but Splinterlands has a bot that checks and delegates out HP to those who can't battle. So it looks like they solve it on the side for people without having to worry about it.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
Yea.. sometimes the bot is lazy, or the folks don't know how to properly poke the pig haha.
With the new rental system that came out their 10hp delegation is pretty meaningless.
Oh does it burn through it that fast? I guess the cost of the RCs for each transaction must of gone up a bit.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
yea thats what I keep trying to tell people!! you wish you woulda bought more when you first heard about this chain.. but you were too busy crypto degening.. (speaking to myself)
REMINDER!!!
Get thy #CANDIES ASAP.
Rumor is they are about to end this program. Not sure if it is true but best to be safe.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
60 candies collected today. Where did that rumor come from?
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
Got my excellent 30 and couldn't be happier! They're offering a 24 month Surfshark vpn subscription for 210 candies. Looks like the ExpressVPN offer is gone.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
I did see those offer but I didn't bother. Do you prefer ExpressVPN over SurfShark?
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
ExpressVPN is known for their better support when dealing with regional blocking by the streaming services.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
lol Well, then for sure I'm glad I got them. They could turn into rare collectibles!

Sideways movement in the crypto markets. Are we going to move sideways for a while before starting a big run.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
Do you think the new variant of the virus will be causing issues? I have a feeling those lock downs might be starting again so the entire global economy will be effected
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
We had an in-person presentation scheduled on campus next wee, and I optioned to stay home. We've had a number of instructors who were infected with COVID, and at least one who almost died. Thank goodness I chose all online classes since this started.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
HIVE is holding up nicely, much to my surprise. I expected it to drop down after the enormous move. It still might.
We are ahead the development I feel. Nevertheless, perhaps there are some strong hands moving in at these prices.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
Yea I still think HIVE has a lot going for it and the fair price for it is probably higher. However I wouldn't mind it stalling around the current price so we stay under the radar.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
It got pretty hot very quickly, so a pullback was not unexpected. I believe any further drops will be slow and steady, as we've seen.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
We've still got to get through the power downs that are coming next week. @pablopenguin's numbers from HIVE this morning showed a net of over 3M tokens going back into the exchanges over the last 3 days. It also showed a net deficit in power ups to power downs. Although that number wasn't as great as I thought it would be.
We'll see what this morning's numbers show. I'm still thinking a larger pullback is in store for us but I don't think it's going back to $1. It may just wick below $2 a few times and keep bouncing until the next leg up.

Who do you admire more?
Elon Musk or Jeff Bezos?
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
Both are tools, but Bezos has transformed himself from a geeky bookseller to a virtual Bond villain. Musk is no saint, and he has his skeletons, but I pick Musk over Bezos.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
This is the answer I was trying to think of..
Elon Musk is my pick.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
I'd have to say Musk, but he's a terrible presenter. Maybe I'm setting the bar too high as I'm comparing everybody to Steve Jobs who was the master at it.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
Do I have to choose? Neither of them is anywhere near my top 10. I give Elon a lot of credit for sticking with Tesla and making it work through some very tough times, but his messing around with the crypto markets has turned me off.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
I saw this question in this post so I was thinking people could give him an answer. Of course my answer is in the comment section already.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
Beeswap (BXT) has started giving out rewards. I got my first payment for my staked BXT.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
Yes, I noticed mine today, and wished I'd picked up more.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
I didn't buy any but I did stake what I got from the airdrop
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
Oooh boy are you gonna regret that :)
Why would you say that? I know the dividends are good but I see no point in going further at that point in time.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
Because BeeSwap is an amazing platform, and staking BXT will be an amazing hive faucet going forward. If you sold your airdrop, then I probably bought it for 13-15 hive and it's now worth 20 or more
I didn't sell my airdrop. I staked what I got but I am not spending more out of pocket to grab more.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
I thought we were getting paid in HIVE? I only see more BXT entering my account. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but like I said, I thought we were getting HIVE....
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
There are two ways to earn. If you put into the diesel pools, you get BXT. If you decide to stake them (like you do to LEO), you get HIVE. You can see my payout below.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
Hell yea, I am stoked on Gerbers @beeswap project!
Yeah, I just found out he was behind it. Picked up a little more BXT today, and plan on adding to it.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
Awesome man! I was glad to finally be aware of something rite away and also to see and understand the value in it!
This made me smile, such fertile young minds:
Animal Crossing players are “growing” weed and making dispensaries
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
Well it is a game...but they still can't convert that weed or profit into fiat or crypto. However it definitely isn't something I thought many would promote. Then again the view on weed has been changing over time.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
What happens in Vegas... May not always stay there:
Weed lounges are coming to a city near you

Well I don't know if it's a good or bad things but as a city of entertainment, I am not surprised.
